The oracle turret knew about Caroline, and thats why it was about to get destroyed along with the scrap
I think it only makes sense if knowing about Caroline is what made the turret stop shooting, but the turret just says what it knows and it wasn't even the first thing the turret said. It just doesn't work.

Fun fact: The Prima Donna Turret is not only on the credits. In test chamber 16, if you manage to blow up the turrent thats in the vents and crawl through it. You'll see him, getting singed to by 4 turrets.

I absolutely bloody loved those things. I never got to connect with the companion cube because my brother completed all the levels with it even after i asked him not to, but these things are absolutely adorable.

There’s a defective turret that acts like a normal turret but it just doesn’t shoot or doesn’t have bullets to shoot and also I’m talking about one from portal 1 (personal favorite)

I just always feel better when I save one defective turret
and after that seeing a lot of non-deffective turrets goes to crusher... i think its interesting psycological moment, cause in first walkthrough i did ssame thing. oh, and, if i correctly remember, deffedctive ones will explode after some time in this map.

No. The souls are put in personality cores and maybe even companion cubes. However, it's possible that turrets had to capacity to hold souls too, as seen with Wilson from EZ2.

I don't know why but I always try not to kill the turrets, I just turn them away whenever possible.

i know how to walkthrough all portal2 without killing turrets, even in moments, where you think "no way, its impossible!", just because same thing. oh, in one moment i made a gortalgun retexture with neko-turret sticker on it, just because "no kill turrets."
I try that but I keep accidentally knocking them over and killing them =(
when I was a kid after every level I would bring them one by one to the disintegrator at the exit to hear them scream in pain
the frankenturrets imply that turrets can in fact move on their own
I think the moving mechanism for that would be too big, considering the turrets are full of bullets, however the frankenturrets have space for that.

there's 2 honorable mentions, in the turret intro in the original portal, all turrets except the first one are considered boxes by buttons except for the first turret which isn't one because it's named something like tutorialturret instead of box so walking into the side of it knocks it over
There are also shell-less turrets, visibly identical to the defective ones, which function like normal ones. They appear in a few of the co-op mode's old Aperture levels, and are presumably early prototypes. Other notable ones include the defective one in Portal 1 people continue mentioning, the scuffed-up ones and the sideways ones in the opera cutscene at the end of 2, and if you want to count it the ones stuck in boxes during the confrontation with GLaDOS before the core transfer and in Wheatley's failed turret trap chamber.
U forgot the grey turrets with the caution tape body that u usually see in the beginning before the facility comes online and the side ways turrets that Wheatley built.
Definitively my favorite turrets were the common ones, is that their voice is so cute.
I always felt bad for frankenturrets, especially when you grab them and they look very scared

Prima Donna Turret? I recognize it more as the *Wife* Turret.
And I don't know why you've skipped two other turrets in Portal 2, although I can make an educated guess about one of them.
The first missed one being the "backwards" turret, which despite aiming at the player, shoots in the opposite direction.
The second one being the "faulty" turret, which acts exactly like the default/clean turret, just with a different skin (as in more unfinished/broken). That one I may understand why it was skipped.

In Portal in the escape from the 4000 degrees kelvin to GLaDOS there’s a defective turret nothing like the ones in portal 2 that doesn’t have any shell it’s like a normal turret but with no bullets it can talk and it’s next to a bunch of downed ones
you missed the unique plated defective turrets in the part where he kills you, also the broken turrets without wings on some kind of harness in portal 1
The frankneturrets actually spark out after the paradox meaning they are more intelligent than Wheatley

Man this reminds of portal 2 what a wonderful game. Graphics, atmosphere, humor, lore, physics, desolate yet vibrant. A phenomenal masterpiece.

Honestly, the way I kill turrets is just find a grabable object and whack 'em, unless I can't do that without dying or just plain can't do that.
Why are your Portal colours in Portal 2? The blue has this Icy tint, and the orange feels unusually bright. Maybe it was just my own monitor settings, or your graphics settings but they seem a bit off from what I usually see.
Hi! I haven’t changed the colours of the portals but I did enable the console command “r_portal_use_dlights 1” to make them glow and look more realistic :)
