- Keratosis Pilaris: it's not a serious issue, but it can definitely be annoying! KP or "chicken skin" causes dry bumpy skin on arms, legs, and sometimes other areas. I've been dealing with it since childhood but only recently learned more about it! Today I'll share: what is KP, ways to help get rid of KP bumps, and the glycolic acid keratosis pilaris treatment I just started using that is making a huge difference!

If you want KP gone completely, never to return, have laser hair removal treatments. With no hair for the keratin to stick to, there is nothing for the keratin to cling too. Trust me, i know. I'm a 53 year old man and i've had KP since i was 14 years old. I have heart disease which causes hair loss in the lower legs which was very affected by KP. Where the hair has fallen out, the skin is smooth, bump free with absolutely no red dots what so ever. So, no hair, no KP.
This is incredibly interesting!! Thank you for sharing!
Keto diet helps to reduce/remove this problem. Check information about it and the main cause Hyperinsulinemia. The rest of the possible causes: dairy/gluten/eggs intolerance/ lack of vitamin D and vitamin A. You are welcome.😎
I am 50 and have had KP all my life. My KP is very noticeable because I am very pale. I am excited to try this. THANK YOU for sharing!!!
I hope it works well for you, Sinndy!
Sindy...same here. Same age and pale skin and the red really stands out. My 13 year old has it now even on his face.
Yep, me too. Pale skin color, 54 years old, and still have KP.
it works for you? tell me please
Your makeup looks gorgeous today
Oh thank you!
Thank you for this! I have researched and heard of other products on the market targeted towards KP & they can get expensive. Consistency is also definitely the key to managing the condition. I’ve always been self conscious about it.
Yes, it's constant upkeep but hopefully it gradually goes away. Glad you liked the video!
It's like you read my mind and did a video on KP! I've been looking for an affordable product to try. I recently discovered what was going on on my upper arms and inner thighs/inner knee areas is KP and I've never had it before. I think being inside so much over the last year or so and not following my normal routines caused it. Thank you for doing a video on this. I'll be using your code (:
I hope this works for you!!! Thanks so much for watching!
i'm 17 and it wasn't until a few years after I moved to New Zealand that these started appearing on my arm and all over my back. My dad has it as well so we thought it was a genetics thing but i guess not.. Also I wanted to know if anyone else with KP feel any kind of itching at random times? because it can be very irritating.. I've tried putting salicylic acid and CeraVe moisturisers but honestly I just gave up, I couldn't really tell if something was changing so I'm glad I found this video, thank you :))
I have KP and always have. I did not learn what it was until 2013. I will be trying this. Thank you!
I hope it helps!!
Hi, Miranda 😊❤ I've been also dealing with "chiken skin" since my childhood , and i've been told that i should skratch myself more with a bathroom sponge and it will go way 😁 Well - it was definitely a nonsense 😄 Actually my arm skin became much smoother since i started using fluffy soap from Laline (i think i've sent you their link previously). It really improved the all deal 👍😊
They were probably encouraging you to exfoliate but you definitely don't want to be too rough! I'm glad you found something that works for you!
I have had KP all my life and never knew what it is until recently.Will. be trying this soon.
Isn't it nuts?? I really thought I was weird! Lol
I got rid of mine with regular exfoliation. I used cheap scrubs when I was young, now I use fancier body scrubs.
Did it end up ever clearing up on its own?
I also heard where this is a vitamin A deficiency so maybe check out your blood work when going to the doctor
Thank you I’ve literally had them on my legs for the longest time and as a result I have never liked wearing shorts or skirts or dresses because of how ugly it is I hope this helps me
I hope so too! The biggest piece to the puzzle is consistency. Since the condition can't be cured and only managed, whatever you do to treat it needs to be kept up regularly. Good luck!
it works for you? tell me please
the Antibacteri name please
I used to have that on the back of my arms (2010), I read online to use an Antibacterial Body Wash and scrub well in the shower, I purchased liquid Dial and went thru several bottles of it.. during the course of using it the bumps went away and over the years Dial stopped selling 'Antibacterial' body wash. Its been gone for years tho, hopefully it never comes back.
Thank you for making this video! I too have had this my whole life pretty much all over and it's super annoying! Lol I already ordered and can't wait to try this! Also trying out some serums from them too after going to watch your other two videos. 😊
Yay!! Hope you love them all. Their products are simple but effective, at least in my experience!
it works for you? tell me please
I have kp too. It's super annoying during the nicer weather. I'll have to check this stuff out. Thanks.
I'm floored with how many people have it in the comments!! Even more common than I thought!
Just ordered mine, thanks for the recommendation! 🙂
Hope it works as well for you!
Love this makeup look! I am a k-dry kin girl!
Thanks so much!! Went with cooler tones which usually isn't my go-to for shadow but I love how it came out.
I have had KP since childhood, I'll check these out, thanks !!
My best friend has it and she is trying to get rid of it for her wedding in a few months, so thanks for the info!
Perfect!! She definitely has enough time to get it under control then. Thanks for passing it along!
@@slashedbeauty fix the link, it has joined to the text after... :)
@@SvilenaBombona thank you!! just did, let me know if it works!
it works for you? tell me please
I have KP for about 20 years and it has spread from my arms to my legs and back now. And they say it’s supposed to go away around 30 I’ll be thirty this year and I don’t see this happening lol but I will try this product before the First Aid Beauty KP
Haha yep who knows when mine will clear up, or if it will, and in winter I don't care as much since I'm bundled but I will definitely keep up my maintenance routine through summer!! Thanks for watching, Monique!
I'm 40 and it's not as bad as when I was a teen but still a problem.
I have kp on and off. My diet change definitely made it appear again and its at its worst. I used to be vegan and thats when my skin was the clearest, but during pregnancy, my ceavings won me over and started eating meat and dairy, and after having the baby, still eating badly, it appeared again and so badly. Im trying to be vegan again but i know its gonna be a couple years before it disappears again, so im looking for products lol
My 3 year old has it on her upper arms. I feel bad because she wants them to go away.
It can definitely be a confidence killer... especially when you're young and don't understand that it's actually so common!
Omg I can relate to this so much!!!
I honestly just asked Jessica Braun if she treats her KP with diets TODAY! What Timing!!! Thank you Miranda! ❤
As I await my dermatologist appointment I have been soaking in an oatmeal bath every night and immediately applying an Aveeno lotion thoroughly then again in the am after I shower. Not sure exactly what's going on but it's been there a while! 🥴
I do love oatmeal baths for my eczema too!!
@@slashedbeauty I don't know if it's eczema, KP, or something totally different. My dermatologist apt is late June. Thank you for all the helpful information!! ❤
can you do a video on dark armpits lightening please 😖🙏
I don't think I'd be able to effectively test a product or routine because I don't have darker armpits!
I hate dry skin :(
Same!!!
love your videos also love love eyeshadow color what colors are us using ??
Thanks so much! I'm using the Catrice Pro Next Gen Nudes palette!
I had this! It went away once I hit my 30s though.
Well I've got a couple of years, here's hoping!!
Thank you so much for this! I just found out I have KP, I have a thigh tattoo and I’m wondering if this lotion will be ok to use on my tattoo?
Ooh. I'm not 100% sure on that. Any way you can ask your tattooist if glycolic acid/exfoliating ingredients are okay on it?
My doctor calls is crocodile skin.
Dang that's *rough* 😂
@@slashedbeauty he's an odd guy but he's the best doctor i've ever had. 😄
I’ve always had KP
Same! Since I was a kid.
Hey do have pigmentation of kp
I do
I've found that the hotter my showers are the worse my KP is.
Yep, it definitely dries out the skin even more!
Link would not work for me.
Same. I think it's because the word affiliate got added into the hyperlink
Thanks so much for letting me know! I just fixed it if you could try again 😎
Thanks
Girl that is nothing. My kp is super bright red covering almost all they way to my wrist. I’ve tried an expensive scrub for kp and didn’t work for me. I use ok lotions and also they don’t work.
Try this and the other tips I recommended! Keeping it simple could be the key + consistency!
Same here
Does lasers work
The coupon code doesn't work
I’ll see if the brand can renew it!
I started using the bump eraser and it's peeling of my skin after a few hours, what should I do? Cause I don't exactly know how it suppose to work.. help me if you know
Are you putting it as the first layer on clean skin?
I don’t like it I guess so jealous when I see other females having it so clear
Try this out, or any type of exfoliating will definitely make a difference!
