Way too close to home! Only things missing is the salesman (is that a guy) letting Tripp know that he included GPS for only $8 a day and giving directions to the shuttle bus for the 15-minute ride to get to the car.
This was hilarious even from someone that used to be a rental agent! People think that these options are sneaky or sketchy, but that’s not the case! You don’t know the trouble you will go through if you damage the car, we will require deductible of a minimum of $500 on the spot, we send you the car damage costs to you personally(you would have to contact your own insurance), and worst of all, your insurance will triple your rate because of the accident! When I rent cars, I always purchase their insurance, if anything, I hand them back the keys and leave! Employees will be disciplined if they don’t offer these options, so be respectful to them.
Loved it but you missed the following: Would you like the satellite radio activated for $5 a day? Would you like a GPS so you know where you are going for $8 a day? Would you like to use the EZPass for $3 a day?
This is why I love the Enterprise kiosks at airport rental centers. Just scan your license and a credit card, hit no a few times, and grab the printout. You're done while the first person in line is still trying to say no to the insurance.
As a customer, I know that this felt ridiculous As a retail employee, my soul hurts. Dude's just trying to keep his job by asking everything they trained him to ask. No one told him to drop the script if someone started shouting at him like this, and, honestly, I think I'd cry if someone yelled at me like that. Than again, I work at a grocery store, so I'm not really trying to cheat people.
As a past car rental clerk I'm having a PTSD here. The salesman isn't trying to cheat anybody, he is just offering services that can be easily declined with a few polite nos. Instead the customer is being extremely rude. This is awful :/
OMG! The whole size debate. When you've got Enterprise rent a car telling you that a Focus/Cruze is a mid size and that a Fusion/Malibu is a full size. This snarky counter person (manager trainee) argued, vehemently, with me one day and I double dog dared here to go to Ford's website and see what the Fusion was classified as. She wouldn't do it. I'm like "look, I get that corporate tells you one thing and you have to lie per corporate policy but don't argue with me and insult my intelligence". Then I dared her to look it up. When she refused, I dared her to look up what percentage of Enterprise management trainees ever become managers. Then I told her that it is a very low percentage. Background: Enterprise recruits recent college grads, with few prospects and makes them work as management trainees for 55 hours a week with no OT pay. Very few of them ever become managers. Most get sick of lying to people and burn out because of the long hours. I avoid renting cars now days. I just take a ride-share service.
This is why I like the Emerald Aisle at National. You skip the counter and go right to the aisle, pick the car you want from what's there, and go. All your preferences and credit card is on file. They just verify your driver's license on the way out and you're off.
This dialog and situation is totally accurate. I was a customer service rep for a national car rental company for years and this scenario happened all the time. The counter rep played it perfectly AND the customer was typical as well. Spot on. This would happen with most customers.
When I went to Athens, Greece, I gave the rental guy my reservation number and within 2mins he gave me the car keys. [MIND BLOWN] never thought that's possible. Greek people are so chill!
Out in Oregon on our first trip to the coast together. My wife and I got backed into by an old lady at a grocery store, my gut told me to get the added insurance before starting the vacation, so I did! I'm on vacation in another state miles from home, no work, no kids, no hastles! I don't want to be worrying about fault, and stay an extra hour at the rental shop filling out paperwork. In that case, it worked!
On my honeymoon I was duped into prepaying for the fuel. I had never rented before and wasn’t ready for the question, and it seemed like a good deal at the time. But… I totally got them back. It worked out perfectly that I used my entire tank of gas and basically drove in on fumes. They had to fill the entire thing for me and I skipped the gas station. It was glorious.
Nailed it. Had one guy try to upsell me on a manager special after he informed me that I would be getting a compact. Politely declined and accepted the compact. Walked outside to get my compact. The guy out there said pick a vehicle. All full size trucks. hmmm
I feel like this video wouldn't be nearly as funny as it is to me if I show it to someone who hasn't dealt with this same nightmare before. Great stuff!
I work in a Renta car company and this is hilarious but now u should make a video from the seller view. Most clients don't read terms and conditions and then they just get mad even when they see was they fault.
True story! All those unnecessary additional add ins and costs which a person after 12 hrs flight has no power to understand - must be eliminated., by a law!
Auto glass office girl: I'm sorry, we can not find you r part. Me: I paid for the replacement part & I have the receipt so can I get my $ refunded ASAP? Office Girl: oh we found the glass part sir. We can schedule the repair.
Sir we don't have any compact cars left. If you'd like to rent a car you'll have to go with a mid size for an extra $29 a day. Also, there's a go fee if you'd like the car to be mobile and that's $19 per kilometre plus engineering surcharge.
I rented a vehicle not to long ago and was surprised I was charged sales taxes, even tho I didn't receive any tangible products "as stated by california tax law/code" . I asked the sales person and of course he could not explain, just said everyone has to pay this tax -sorry sir. I seen online/TV where people are being charged tax, but they keep it for themselves. This is sad but true -google it.
The best is when the same customer comes back with a flat tire and cracked windshield and gets charged for the tire and windshield and loss of use plus Administration fee’s and starts screaming they won’t pay after they acted like a child when offered the damage waiver insisting they didn’t need any coverage. Enjoy taking the $2000 bill to your car insurance company, I am sure they will gladly immediately pay for it all and of course they won’t raise your rates. Everyone knows insurance companies just love to pay out claims. No fine print there.....
Half-expected the car salesman to smash the guy's car secretly by throwing a rock (car not shown off screen) and then ending the episode with the renter sitting on the side of the street with 2 bags tied to the car roof and one dandling from the side window, saying "what do you mean I don't have insurance coverage? No, I can't bring my car to a police station for proof.. why? (Zoom in on empty gas tank indicator) because it's a matter of principle that's why!"
I would add that I want the car brought around to me into the shoveled parking lot instead of being sent around behind the building myself and found the car parked inches from the wall in snow.
Love the ending with the car
Sorry for the duplicate upload everyone. There was a technical glitch in the first version. It's Tripp's fault.
Lol, so blame it on Tripp. :D
You should blame it on Bill Crosby!
Bad joke , I know its Cosby.
Tripp and Tyler did he “Tripp” over
Is it extra cost?
I love you guys!! you are so gifted. God bless you guys!
As someone who was once a rental agent and who has been on both sides of that counter, this was absolutely majestic. Well done Tripp+Tyler!!
it's no fun for the worker either I bet
Tyler's hair makes this video. Rock star.
So true! Renting a car is the worst
Dantastic No it isn’t.
This is great! Please make a video on gym memberships, how they refuse to tell you the prices, make you sign your soul to cancel, etc...
I like this
:D
YES
I pay as a guest .. so when I go I pay like 50rs which is like 70cents for that day and I'm done.
Way too close to home! Only things missing is the salesman (is that a guy) letting Tripp know that he included GPS for only $8 a day and giving directions to the shuttle bus for the 15-minute ride to get to the car.
You guys have such a unique channel. And still to this day I love your content!!

I've never even rented a car and this made me feel good.
Joshua Walters same here 😁
Loved it but you missed the following:

The spittle coming out of Tripp's mouth as he rants is so authentic. What an actor
Excellent acting from Tripp at 4:29 where the splittle flies out...
One of the most underrated shows on UA-cam
I thought all the "add-ons" he denied was going to tremendously backfire in the end and that the clerk was really looking out for his best interest.

i worked in a rent car as recepcionist, and this video related perfectly what happen day by day

The last shot was epic! LOL!
This is brilliant as always. How do you not have millions of subscribers?
They are the most underrated channel on UA-cam
Amazing video!!!! I just felt right there behind you in that queue!!

I love you guys, you're so funny, tears are flowing down my face. Keep doing what you do!
LMBO!! 😂😂😂 OMG, that was frikin' awesome! The background music, the suspense, the victory!! OMG too frikin' awesome!!
Tripp for President 2020!
Oh Hai Mark!
You're my favourite customer.
I'm so glad that someone else thought Tyler looked like Tommy Wiseau hahah
Anyways, how's your sex life?
I did not force you to buy coverage. It's bullshet. I did naht!
Mahk

Tyler did not hit her, he did naht! O hai, Tripp.
That hairdo on tyler reminds me of the king of Rohan's sneaky advisor
Every car rental ever!!
The guy serving at the counter has a Tommy Wiseau style!
Always look forward to your videos. Thanks!
This is so true. Feel this happened to me every time I rent a car. Great video guys !
Nailed it. Had one guy try to upsell me on a manager special after he informed me that I would be getting a compact. Politely declined and accepted the compact. Walked outside to get my compact. The guy out there said pick a vehicle. All full size trucks. hmmm
Loving how many vids you've released recently
I feel sorry for the salesman who is required to do all these things and then gets abused for it.
Excellent !! Toujours aussi marrant....J'adore !
Merci!
Gosh, this is hilarious, guys! One of your best!
These are hilarious! I just laughed so hard!
I feel like this video wouldn't be nearly as funny as it is to me if I show it to someone who hasn't dealt with this same nightmare before. Great stuff!
Keep them coming!!
Great job!
I thought I was going to see a Tommy Wiseau imitation from the thumbnail
Sorry to disappoint you. Seriously, that's disappointing
Such a classic sketch. Comedic perfection.
I love the ending hahaha. Awesome.
I'm not prepaid for gas, the car is already full gas ja,ja,ja....🤣🤣
This was me on my last trip to the US - apart from being told I would need special training to drive a Mustang GT so I can't have one.
a decent bass player in a decent cover band hahaha!
The first time I rented a car, someone told me i needed all of those... This is why you need people who know what they're talking about.
Awesome vid and awesome acting!! I didn't even realize that was Tyler at first.
I work in a Renta car company and this is hilarious but now u should make a video from the seller view. Most clients don't read terms and conditions and then they just get mad even when they see was they fault.
These guys kill it every time.
True story! All those unnecessary additional add ins and costs which a person after 12 hrs flight has no power to understand - must be eliminated., by a law!
In this video, Tripp did fight for the decent car rental person.
“I did not hit her, it’s bullshit, I did not hit her, I did not...... oh hi Mark.” Tyler’s character reminded me of that lmao.
Oh..... My...... This is pure gold.
First time I rented a car the guy really pressured me into taking an insurance with his horror stories lol
But what about the optional GPS?!
Always so well done.
3:55 If you got room to breath you got room to put stuff in.
I can see someone on Reddit claiming this exact thing happened to them and then everyone clapped.
Auto glass office girl: I'm sorry, we can not find you r part. Me: I paid for the replacement part & I have the receipt so can I get my $ refunded ASAP? Office Girl: oh we found the glass part sir. We can schedule the repair.
The living embodiment of r/thathappened
Please make a video on Uber Scams. I really hate it when captains do deceptive tactics.
Sir we don't have any compact cars left. If you'd like to rent a car you'll have to go with a mid size for an extra $29 a day. Also, there's a go fee if you'd like the car to be mobile and that's $19 per kilometre plus engineering surcharge.
If your video had been shot in Florida you could have added the Fee for an additional driver, even your spouse.
Why hasn't this video blown up yet?
I don't have to put up with any of this crap from National! Love them (legit)
Trip & Tyler can go on stage, I'd pay to see this kind of stuff lol. This makes for a great marketing campaign
So true... Why rental companies are trying to cheat me every time every second??
No ezpass pitch? How about satellite radio?
Brilliant!
This video deserves even more views than those cat videos.
OMG! I'm trying not crack up at 6am. I was trying not to wake people up! 😅😅
3:26 convertIble. You're welcome...how many years later. SORRY, JUST FOUND YOU!🤣
Love it. FYI, your "Use this video at a meeting or event" link is broken.
Excellent, it's fixed.
Why am I just finding out about these guys now?? Hilarious!!

Same-gas, different circumstance.
No, on the pre-pay gas. It's always more expensive than nearby.

Yeah...my God,...it's almost like rental car companies...are a business model out to make money...Crazy...
Love the dad jokes
Hilarious AF
i like how the que got bigger over time haha
My gut tells me to subscribe.
Somebody call security.
SOOOOOOOO RELATABLE!!!! LOL
Yes!
I love Tripp and Tyler, but geez, this one stressed me out!
FUNNY ENDING. great video
So relatable!! 🤣
He spitted lol 4:30!!
