Lads, one can tell you have a lot of experience with hotels and car renting, as the sketch seems more as a documentary than a sketch 😂
Yes, I think you're right, every time i've rented a car it's been unnecessarily confusing
Intentionally confusing!
@@foilarmsandhog And you got the scratches part right. Last time I rented a car in Spain at an airport, I made time and date stamped photos of any existing scratches on the rental car, just in case they would blame me afterwards upon return. I had heard "stories" about this. In the event, all was fine.
@@clavichordthat’ll be Goldcar, cheapest prices upfront but most expensive rental you’ll ever have. If you don’t take their additional insurance, they’ll claim you damaged the car a few months later and just take money from your credit card!😁
Anywho, all good fun🤣
@@donfalcon1495 Exactly. Goldcar is insane 🥴
At least he didn't accidentally buy a lawnmower.
Haha😂
or did he?
@@MairiAngwennah, not enough wheels.
Prpbably to many wheels😅
Or a wheelbarrow 😂
„In case it rains well then you be covered…shouldn‘t the roof do that?“ My favourite line!😂
That one I'm still laughing about 🤣
The delivery on "Why don't I just rent a car" when being told how to get to the car was just perfect.
"Did it rain?" - "Yeah!"
What an ending to an already amazing sketch. Well done as always guys!
You can tell he’s a driver bound to Hog the road. 😂 Great sketch, lads, so real it Hertz.
Clever
‘10 additional scratches we didn’t tell you about’. Every car rental ever.
I thought he was going to pull out a miniature tricycle and that end there, instead of a wheel😂
Me too😅
That was the 4th wheel. It never got wet
Shrinkage! 😁
@@Ensign_Roque Me three. 😂
I've never rented a car but I could still feel the frustration (and fear) 😂 I love these darker sketches and the editing and lighting effects really add to the atmosphere.
Thanks for making Thursdays so much more fun and have a wonderful day!
I recently rented a van and it was exactly like this
It's an entirely accurate representation of renting a car
You have not lived, my friend.
I once booked a seven seater four-wheel drive SUV months in advance. They tried to give me an AWD five seater. Luckily, I was able to strap my kids to the roof, so our vacation wasn't negatively affected.
Foil must have gotten the insurance insurance to be that happy returning a wheel
He bought the rain insurance
That insurance paid off😅
What were the chances? After all it *never* rains around here...
He didn't need it. There wasn't a scratch on there!
I love Arms playing the happy to help but actually evil character, and Hog at the recieving end. The turntables have turned 😂
Hog does an excellent Foil I must say.
Great to see Foil’s fancy light dimming back! He must be thrilled 😆
Loves a good dim our foil
I wanted to see him press the "dim the lights" button.
"Oh no no, this whole thing's going to take ages." 😂
The company's name and branding is on point!
I love the very detailed image where the existing scratches are marked…😂
so vague
Just rented a car last week at Budapest Airport, and this sketch resonated perfectly. A must see intro to all you rental car newbies out there!
"..and 10 additional scratches we are not going to tell you about, find it for yourself.." that was so mean, even for a car rental😂.. I love Thursdays.. thank you
I used to work in a car rental company, this is very accurate
I love the placement of the employee in front of the sign!
A polo has four wheels but it also has three.😂 One tire difference is not that big deal. I think it fits into “similar”! 😂
The shuttle to the shuttle to the rental car for me!! 😂
Managing to get through my adult life without renting a car but this gave me flashbacks to childhood (might have also been the mention of a trundle wheel 😂) - standing by the counter for ages, banging my head against it as they went blah blah blah a million tiny details about cars and the place stunk of petrol with an underwaft of puke. At least now I can see it was funny!
Can't wait for the start of the tour! Not long now!!! 😬😬😬
I wonder if comedy sketches could give car rental company owners (as well as hotel owners, etc.) the right amount of nightmares to change the world for the better... Comedy has definitely changed my life for the better.
Yes, but know when we go to hotels or car rental places or passport offices I'm terrified they'll enact revenge
@@foilarmsandhog I'm not familiar enough with the term 'enact' so I choose to believe it means those managers and desk clerks will stage their own sketches as a revenge when you visit 😂
@@foilarmsandhogpossibly you should book under your human names not your stage names. Go incognito. They'll never spot you.
"enact revenge" as in going above and beyond what they usually do for their job (refer to the sketch for this)
@foilarmsandhog it cannot be worse than their regular service!
“Avocado Brown” really had me laughing. Clever!
A beautiful colour

This one's so silly!!! Accurate, and silly. You have one happy Sam right here. Can't think of a single line I didn't love. Great job lads 🤣
Oh joy!
@@foilarmsandhogI WUV YOU GUYS!!!! - I say cause I know you won't see it 🤣
This rental experience looks amazing! No queues, and no incessant typing your details (that you already supplied) into a computer for 30 minutes.
If I could pickup a rental in 3mins 45 seconds, I'd call that a good experience!
Love the name of the company. Reminds me of the feeling of going through a car rental ordeal. 😂
'but it also has 3.' 😄
This is my favourite sketch of theirs in weeks.
☮
This was so painful, and so funny to watch.
Things are funnier when there's a bit of truth to em 😅
We’ve only had the joy of visiting Ireland once and were disappointed that we left it too late to organise a rental car - now I’m so glad about that! 😆

My first car was a Pico, lasted a week, I hear the newer models aren't made of sugar anymore.

"But it also has 3" , he is right.
Insurance companies are such gangsters.
They want you to pay insurance for everything you will most likely not need insurance for, yet if you buy a house even remotely near a river they will not give you flood insurance which is something which you may actually need insurance for.
Reality versus comedy. Can add asking about crossing the wiggly border to Northern Ireland, a boot big enough to hold just a smartphone, and two rental companies pretending to be nine.
They really asked me not to go to Northern Ireland, they threatened me with a tracker
Never let them know about your wiggly routes… I just lived this experience at Dublin airport a month ago.
We literally drove up to the border and just looked over it at Northern Ireland bc my dad didn’t get the extra insurance

Spot on! Every time, EVERY TIME we rent a car its the insurance dance. But my husband has his constant answer: “I have American Express and it is covered”. He says it at least ten times during the conversation. I think next time I will record it.
Maybe try the robot and the sprinkler next time. That should shut them up quicker 😂
My wife and I had this about 10 years ago in Majorca,it was 10pm at the airport and we had to argue with the girl about our booking because she could not find it and eventually after she got in contact with her boss(I'm sure he was happy 10:30pm call) we got the keys to a completely different car ..then it gets worse, the hotel room we had booked was "sea view" they put us in a room half below the street,a cellar, where you had to stand on your tippy toes to look out of a small window and see "a road" we immediately complained and the next day they gave us a fantastic room on the top floor with a balcony looking out to the sea, really what the lads show here is the truth! ;) Stand your ground and complain :)
Great sketch guys:) I rented a car recently in Mexico..imagine Arms saying all this in Spanish! I ended up signing up for things I didn't understand. It was a nightmare! This sketch is too real, I couldn't even laugh😮
Came back to watch this after the long editing video on Patreon. Appreciate your editing so much more now! Thank you for the laughs.

FUCT - Fill Up Car's Tank.
I think.
Ooh, good guess!
This... hits. It's not unusual to be "upgraded" in Canada and the States to an entirely different class of vehicle (sedan to SUV is super-common). I've always wondered what kind of investment in oil companies car rental companies have. It's like they want you to spend more money on petrol, when really (besides the "bring it back with a full tank part") should be of no interest to them.
You know Foil was chosen as the minor character because there was a need to pick that tire up 😂
"The Polo has four wheels. It also has three!"
Brilliant!
Our last rental was a nightmare, we were in southern France. The pick-up was fine but after we'd used half a tank we decided it'd be a good time to look for some fuel. After 7 fuel stations in a row being empty I began to suspect something was a miss. We managed to find a McDonald's (for wifi since we didn't have any cellular data) and checked the news and sure enough, petrol deliverers were protesting their unfair wages. Good for them. We were running on fumes at this point. When we contacted the rental agency to explain the situation (obviously they were unaware since they didn't forwarn us!) they offered no compensation for this shortsightedness on their part. Their only consolation was constantly saying that "the situation was affecting everyone as well." Small consolation. We hired an Uber to take us to our lodgings, had to wait around two days, get taxi'd back to town to attempt to get our car. Luckily the station down the block was being filled up so we got in line with everyone else starving for fuel. The machine restricted my card to 50 liters but I had another card so was able to fill all the way up 😅. And that lovely little European car managed to stretch out that tank of gas for the rest of the trip! Moral of the story: you can always count on the French to strike 🥖🇫🇷
Hog's expression by the end - perfection.
I just booked a rental car for work and am dreading this exact scenario happening 😂😩
Great sketch as always! I loved the company name - very appt!
Looking forward to seeing you guys live in a few weeks! 😀
Honestly if insurance insurance was an actual thing where you could have a company deal with your insurance company for you and pay out if they failed that wouldn't be a bad idea
now could you imagine if Ryanair had a car rental company?
There you go ... that's the fourth wheel right there 🤣🤣🤣
Gasping! "Isn't the roof supposed to do that?"
This sketch feels very relevant this week. I just rented a car today! Well, it was supposed to be a car...ended up being a not-very-similar SUV instead 🙄. But at least they were apologetic, and didn't pressure me when it came to insurance! That's happened before, so loved that part of the sketch (great lighting!). Love how you turn frustration into comedy!
I love the villain bgm and the light dimming. Made the sweetest Arms look like how he will not die first in a horror movie 😂
Glad to see the light is making its moneys worth!
It took me too long to realise the car company was 'f****d'
Brilliant sketch
Just arrived from Italy and had an electric one. Maaany problems to find an appropriate charging station on route or the cities, and sooo slow to charge.
I definitely did feel the pressure and the extra fees you are talking about.
Aaah the lighting in the sketch, I’m pretty sure Foil has been enjoying this one fully hahahaha
Did you enjoy the sights at least (Italian asking 😅)?
Yeees, @@gabsie7224 ! ✨👌 but some routes still need quite a lot of improvement 😅
The fact that they _never_ have the car you paid for is so infuriating. And the insurance insurance is also way too accurate, they try to trick you into paying despite the insurance every time.
bloody great guys but you forgot to add the clerk going 'good thing you bought rain insurance' at the end
Haha, I think the carefree attitude on him said it all.
HaHa... you've reminded me here of the old CzecoSlovak 3-wheeler called Velorex 😂 And the brown model used to be most popular 😅 I even remember some veteran giving us a ride in it when we were children 🐁🐥🐇
I just looked it up. Hilarious!!!
@@foilarmsandhog isn't it?? 😄 Not to take the rain insurance with it would be a mistake, though☝️😇 especially now when the summer storms are hitting nearly every day 🥴🤐
That intrigued me and I checked this out. Cute car😁 I wonder what sound it makes when it moves
@@Retiisix0 I do not remember the sounds (I was quite little and not really interested in cars 0;)) but I think my father mentioned then that the average man could have lifted up one side of it, fairly easily, should the car slip into a ditch or something ;]] ps: I'm pretty shocked to google up today there are postmodern versions of this old steed being produced, by some Moravian enthusiast 🧐😲 They are not so lightweight, nor cheap, anymore, but definitely electric 😎👍
this was so painful to watch...those memories. First time I landed in Heathrow, years ago, had booked some small car with Sixt, I only cared that it will be automatic. Actually getting to the rental place took an hour, because they told me to wait at the bus station, shuttle will pick me up. They didn't tell me there are 2 stations, one for public transport, one for shuttle buses, so I waited like a moron for an hour. Got there...classic, we are sorry, we are out of the cars in the category you selected... instead of 300 GBP for the 3 days, would you be interested in this oversized SUV for 750 GBP? It's the only automatic transmission car we have left here. Took an hour of haggling till they honored their reservations and gave me the car for the price of the one I booked. Had to call the booking agency to complain, luckily they called them immediately. I was standing in front of the guy the whole time, without flinching he just put out a fake smile, said "Certainly" to the person on the other end of the phone call, and just grabbed the keys. (and yes, I can drive manual, I drive manual for 25 years, but not in RHD car, my left hand is a moron.. I simply can't convince my left hand to change gears)
That last was a big problem with Top Gear's "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car". I think Jay Leno was the only American or Continental European who didn't miss a shift at least once.
I still think Sabine Schmitz would've won the "beat Clarkson's lap time but in a van" challenge if the van were left-hand drive - having brought an RHD van all the way from Britain for a German to drive in Germany was subtle for Top Gear cheating but surely not accidental.
Not Arms looking slick in the orange/tangerine ensemble 🧡
This video reminds me of the Driving Instructor Series which is brilliant lol
Oh you just know Michael drives a Hurundzi
We're literally smack in the middle of a car hire nightmare. Too soon, boys. Too soon.
The car version of the Ryanair song!!!
My first thought too - car so far, far away, as well as the Insurance sell.
This really is not far from the truth. As an Irish person living abroad I return about 6 times a year. I have had no end of these little scams from car rental companies. So my solution was to purchase a UK car leave it in Northern Ireland.
Fly into Belfast. Then drive to the west of Ireland. This was cheaper and less hassle than flying to Dublin and renting something.
Foil really took the wheel.
You never disappoint 😂
Nice one 👍
A dream of a car. More a concept than anything physical

If you live in London or a major city there's no need to.
@@tanyacobb9636 Correction. There's every need to. Unless you like your transportation options to be limitable by an unaccountable elite. And, lest you naively think it isn't, you are foolishly choosing a centralized, single point of (intentionally bureaucratically controlled) failure.
With centrally controlled transportation, you can be easily locked down. With cars, you can't be easily locked down. Not if everyone rises up in rebellion simultaneously. Which is precisely why the evil Leftist powers that be don't want you to drive or have individual transportation as an option. Or superior internal combustion engine vehicles either. Because, whereas they CAN turn off the electricity, they CAN'T easily turn off all the gasoline or diesel retailers.
Of course, you're not likely going to be able to see this deep into what is going on, and will mistakenly think this is a "conspiracy theory". But it is not. It's the absolute truth regarding what is going on right now. This is what a soft, and becoming hard, tyranny looks like, as it is developing!
