I use about 2.5 tbsp in the frothing pitcher itself, steep with water for about 4 minutes, add the milk, then steam it all together with the steam wand on the espresso machine. I'm basically making the concentrate then steaming with milk like it was a latte.

That would be “dirty chai” variation. Haven’t made one of those yet.
