    the only thing i wish we got to see in the show was the final armour transition into the classic stormtrooper armour we know and love. this paired with the appearance of the star destroyer would've really hit home that terrifying feeling; there is no longer anything left of the republic, the reign of galactic empire is all that remains.

  • @BallinProductionDogs

    I wonder if this is before or after the ending scene of revenge of the sith. Since Vader still has a venator when he’s looking at the Death Star getting constructed. You’d think Vader and Palpatine would get Star destroyers before Tarkin

      Probably but it also made sense to keep them around a little longer, unlike the fighters of the republic, the Venator didn’t just disappear over night. I do think that without tales of the empire though they would have just had 3 Venators.

    It was good we got the first Star Destroyer. I was hoping we'd see more of the original trilogy millitary like TK troopers get Stormtrooper armour and see the first death troopers in The Bad Batch. Also Lambda-class shuttles & V-wings transitioning to Ties

    @austinhoover2659 3 місяці тому

    I also did some number crunching on dates. This event of the star destroyer and the raid on tantis takes place in 18 bby, in 17 bby a year later, vader is seen inspecting the wreckage of a downed venator presumed to be the final resting place of ahsoka, where modern stormtroopers are seen as well. My guess is either shortly after the bad batch new Stormtrooper armor was dolled out, possibly from some of the funds requisitioned from Hemlock's labs, or it was the first experimental step with new stormtrooper armor to an elite force. If we see any sort of early empire series around this time period again, I suspect the gen 1 TK stormtrooper armor will be replaced with new Stormtrooper armor, or the TK armor replaced with imperial army armor as many of the TKs would no doubt better class in with imperial army rather than stormtroopers.

    but what most people dont know is that the venator is still a star destroyer its just "venator class" so theyve always been in the clone wars, the empire later moved on the the successor the "I-class" star destroyer

    For a few seconds I was worried that they were about to show the twisting serpents/space dragons of the Chimera when they did the slow progress shot of the ISD like it was in a Michael Bay car commercial. I was thinking that they couldn’t help themselves but to connect things with Easter eggs. I was very relieved that it was just an ISD

    That my friend is probably a prototype. But it debut here kind of annoys me. Since in legends, at least the imperial star destroyer was actually Preston the service during the Republic era. In fact, a few of them were seen during the battle of coruscant. But now apparently, Canon wants us to forget that idea.

    I feel like if the Empire kept the Venators in service, they would’ve won the GCW because ISDs can deal ship-to-ship damage while the Venators can carry loads of Starfighters, plus, Venators have a formidable arsenal and can hold there own, not to mention their abundance of point defence guns which can obliterate rebel starfighters.

    I still don't get why the empire scrapped all venators, if they used them in combination with the ISD, they would have trounced the rebels. the superior firepower of the ISD combined with the versatility and fighter compliment of the venator would have been a lethal combination
