Now, obviously we don't know if these were THE Dark Troopers, might have been a variant that predates even the first phase of the Dark Trooper program. Still, I think the design is very reminiscent of Dark Troopers, similarly to the training droids seen in Rebels. Little is known about the Dark Troopers in canon other than what The Mandalorian established so the creatives might draw inspiration from Legends to fill in the blanks as they see fit.
I think they are the 1st Generation Dark Trooper Droids

Technically, they are Dark Troopers in a way. From what I can tell from their appearance and affiliation, they are prototypes for the Imperial Sentry Droid, which themselves were inspired by Dark Troopers.
@@Optimal88 is right. Go back to season 3 of star wars rebels. Thrawn has two of them. These look like they could be an earlier model of those droids.
Also to prove this. In season 2 of the Mandalorian they clone researcher mentioned that the first 2 generation of dark troopers where flawed and that the flaw was the human element. Although we haven't seen 1st gen dark troopers they will most likely be human or cyborgs.
And that’s why it’s important as a professional to have the capability and be able to execute Trick Shots in any given circumstance.

I appreciate the fact that Echo still fights like an ARC trooper. Full tilt running and gunning interrupted by the occasional bit of tackling.
The fact that one can fold wrecker shows how powerful they are. And that they took down like 15 together is even better
Indeed, the initial brawl with Wrecker felt similarly to the one with Din Djarin in the Mandalorian.

based on the music alone we can probably say that these are prototypes at best. When a known character or type is on screen or introduced in an episode we normally get the theme of that one mixed in at least a little bit though normally with bad type characters, at least until we know for sure what they are or they become grunts.

These are likely a variant of those security/training we saw in Rebels, one that predates them by several years.

After seeing this scene it makes perfect sense why they have a 100 percent success rate. They couldn't have seen the dark troopers coming and yet in a matter of minutes they managed to take them all down with nothing but their skills, coordination, and ineffective training blasters mind you

In retrospect, Tarkin might have been able to make them loyal assets if he had waited even a few days and let the shock of the republic became the empire wear off rather than sending them straight out at human targets they were not accustomed to fighting, had they seen what Saw's partisan's started to do later then pretty sure they would have gone after his people just as hard as they did droids during the clone wars.

@@mranonyms5901 Saw was one of the more hardcore terrorist remnants from the Clone Wars, he was trained as an insurgent by Anakin and Rex only to later commit war crimes against the empire. So much so that the rebellion had to name them as extremists to be able to garner support from the senate/common people.

@@doggo9355 Always wished there was more of that gray area in Star Wars. i know its a bit too much to ask for, especially when its all under Disney now, but god damn to see that not all Rebels were humane and civilized would be a nice change, and Saw perfectly represented that in Rebels and Rogue One.

And that is why I miss Crosshair in Bad Batch so much, I mean the last scene where he shot the knife, that was good finish, I mean they are doing very good without him, but it is always best when they are full squad
That shot with the knife was sick. I liked how they worked together in the first part of the Finale and the theme song for them came back

@DeutschBrit to be honest, I liked him more as a bad batch member, but as of current situation in bad batch, I thin he is not going to join them, he didn’t even try, so yeah, I think the idea of crosshair rejoining is kinda lost

When Echo was doing the course it reminded me when he was in Domino Squad
It's a shame that the Bad Batch weren't developed sooner, otherwise we could have seen them in action during the Battle of Felucia with Ahsoka, Anakin, Plo Koon, Rex, and Wolffe.
Bad batch is likely generation 2 clones, which means that they have been in lots of missions and battles we saw our heroes in clone wars, also dont forget that every single mission a republic commando squad is in is always classified by the R.I

The writers of the clone wars said they had plans to introduce the bad batch much earlier. There’s an unfinished episode of the clones wars that features them, I’m pretty sure it’s on UA-cam too.
There’s a Clone Wars arc featuring them on Kashyyk with Yoda, but was never produced thanks to Disney

Force Unleashed Purge Trooper from Empirical
As much as they cloned Jango Fett, cloning Force 99 and then mass producing copies of them could have been a very useful for the empire.
You carry on using the generic clones as infanteer, but have each troop to have a Tech, Hunter etc to reinforce them.

Fun fact, the first empire dark troopers were the last ever batch of clones, given no DNA restrictions (even ARC troopers and captains had SOME) so they were essentially a group of armored, highly trained, best food, weapon wielding boba fetts

Those training droids are known as "Imperial Sentry Droid" or "DT Series Sentry Droid". NOT DARK TROOPERS. NOT PROTOTYPE EITHER.

I mean, sure but the design is obviously inspired by the Dark Troopers and I do think the Dark Trooper program will be related to these droids if the creatives ever flesh out more details.

Yeah because they sound nothing like them and sound more like the dark troopers in the force unleashed. These are prob a variant of phase zero dark troopers. Dark troopers and sentry droids kinda looked alike especially these kind
Bottom line improvisation is a SKILL.
Personally I don’t think those are dark troopers, they look more like some sort of precursor to the DT-sentry droids that appeared in rebels, which the empire could’ve possibly taken inspiration from the kaminoans. The reason I don’t think these droids are dark troopers is because it’s a kaminoan facility and dark trooper variations and phases were held somewhat a secret among the imperials. Secondly, the fact that these droids are automated would mean that the only possible dark trooper variant would be phase 3, because the first two phases have an organic user. The only logical assumption is that these machines are a variation and mix of phase 2 and phase 3 dark troopers, in essence a 2.5 model.
I would give anything to see Phase Zero Dark Troopers/The jet pack stormtroopers from the OG Battlefront games. They would be easy to add to canon too. Either their injured Clones with robotic limbs, or they could be Beskar Troopers. Their armor is shiny enough

Both are clone commandos, CF99 has their own tactics and custom gear while clone commandos are more focused and standard RC gear, it's like a 50-50

That wouldn't make sense from a lore perspective. By the time Boba Fett comes back around, the bad batch would already have to be dead. They need to die in the show when it ends, otherwise it creates more inconsistencies.

Except Astartes have superhuman speed and reflexes that even Jedi won't match, can rip both Wrecker and Dark Trooper droids to pieces with bare hands and have both genius level intelligence and a century of experience. Not to mention better equipment.
You CAN create Astartes analogues in Star Wars based on Republic Commandos, Bad Batch, Dark Trooper/Zero G exosuits and Vader's bionics, BUT Empire had cancelled all those projects before they even matured, not to mention going as far as combining their results. Another one of Palpatines "achievement" that would have given him unmatched force superiority, but was lost to incompetence of his own and his chosen subordinates.

2)I don't actually believe that most Jedi have much of a chance. They're agile, can somewhat defy gravity in their long jumps and have Force act as reflex boost with limited precognition. Problem is, even with dubiously canonical "Force speed" that was only in Phantom Menace as an explanation for editing error and in games after it, Astartes actually are VERY fast and have enough experience to not get caught up idle or get shocked easily. Think of it as akin to fighting Gundyr/Gael or any other fast boss in DSouls. You can somewhat outmaneuver them, but never outpace.

These aren't dark troopers. If you watch season two of the mandalorian they revealed that the first two generations of dark troopers had human elements. These things are similar to the imperial imperial security droids from star wars rebels. Admiral Thrawn had two of them In his office and used them for training. Looks more like they could be the prototypes or early model of those droids.
They are nerfed Dark Troopers. But they still kick ass.
According to Star Wars lore… Dark Troopers, or the Dark Trooper Project, wasn’t created until later in the days of the Galactic Empire and were first created as a result to replace the limbs of nearly dead troopers. Sadly, most went mentally insane and ended up killing themselves! Later full robotic models were built, Phase 0 were mostly prototypes and phase 1 was the complete model of the phase 0, if I’m correct. Phase 2 and Phase 3 were later models for harder combat. Phase 3 was later formed into a suit and be operated by a human or just operate on its own like a regular droid. Sadly they were expensive to make and the production had come to halt. But as we later see in the Mandalorian, Moff Gideon attempted to remake the dark troopers in order to give more “power” to the Empire. Of course these models in the Mandalorian were more of a mixture/combination of Phase 2 and somewhat Phase 3.
NOTE: I could be wrong on some of this lore and please ignore my name lol.
No, Phase 3 is the only one to be a droid. Phase 2 models look exactly like Force Unleashed purge troopers, and are suits
