ok this popped up in my recommended and i was concerned at first and i saw all of the comments of concern and complaint as well as explanation. i went through a bunch of this guy's videos and it's clear he is catching predator animals with safe, humane traps and then relocating them. no hunter would go through the trouble and risk injury and disease to hand release a trapped animal and *then* kill it. they trap predator animals to protect chickens and other farm animals. this man is certainly more gentle and empathetic than many others who would simply kill the animals who were threatening their livestock. there's even a video of him attempting to hand release a coyote. i think foxes are wonderful animals but i also understand the necessity to protect livestock and i think people jump to conclusions way too easily online EDIT: i did *additional* research on these types of traps in general and found that they are considered safe and humane for the purpose of catching pest animals (which includes livestock predators). the traps do not break the foot of the animal or cut the animal, although the stress from being trapped causes some animals to injure themselves in an attempt to escape. however, that is true of all traps. i can't speak for how often this man checks the traps, but i have no reason to believe he leaves these animals in the traps for an unacceptable amount of time based on his videos. obviously, do your own research, but for those who dont care to or dont have time, here you go.
As a Hunter, I don’t see a humane trap. That’s a trap used by hunters who don’t give a shit about how long the animal suffers. That’s not humane to break the foot of an animal and clamp down on it for the next 12 hours until a Hunter comes to kill you. If ur using a humane trap, TRAP it by using a no-harm trap and then when u check the trap, u take the animal in the quickest way. Educate yourself. I know your trying to help but I don’t think this video in particular is one to use as reference of this person.
@iiAnTLeRzZii the trap doesnt break their foot, it just holds them in place. it doesnt hurt the animal. it likely stresses the animal, but any trap will do that. also, he isnt killing these animals, hes relocating and releasing them somewhere else so they dont pose a threat to farm animals, therefore the farmers wont kill them

No buddy, you did not let him go. The more you pull him towards yourself, you are breaking the bones in his paw. If you were going to release him you would cover his eyes with a cloth and release that trap. Not grab him by his neck.
He’s not pulling the fox, it’s still scared and trying to get away from him. He put his hand on it’s neck to stop it from biting him so he could reach over and release the trap. But please go off without context, really showing off your moral superiority here :)
Also, that trap is much to small to break any bones in that foxes leg as the trap is regulated for rodent sized game like rabbits or even raccoons, not enough to break, definitely hurts but that can’t be helped.
gotta love it when trappers stop using cruel traps... and people stop using their hides for clothing. They ARE, after all, imbued with the same spirit of OUR Creator...placed into all living things.

He's relocating the fox. The reason for relocating can be to protect livestock (like chickens) or protecting pets and/or children. The trap was made to hold the animal, but it doesn't cause much pain for the fox. Mostly discomfort so it doesn't break its own paw to break free. Also, it's not illegal to have traps in most of the United States as long it's in your own property.
Whoever sets these traps to hurt these innocent animals is cruel, don't you know how much they suffer because they can't say it.thanks for saving this fox.
Some people set traps for a reason. It is far better the animal die for a purpose than road kill- that is more often than not just someone rushing to get to work. They know when you're there to help rather than hurt! I saved the fox, along with a water moccasin, an opossum and a few others with nothing but my bare hands!
Actually these blunt traps only hurt for as long as the animal struggles. They clamp on the thinnest part of the limb, like handcuffs. They only hurt for as long as the animal keeps pulling on it. Most modern trappers have alarms on their traps as well, so they don't have to have a trapped animal for several hours before they come on the rounds
I would advise you to cover it, especially it's head, with a blanket. Then have someone hold its head with the blanket while the other one releases the paw.
People use a sheet of plywood with a notch cut out that goes over the leg. Then you can access the trap safely and you have a shield if the animal comes at you instead of just running away

He’s not pulling the fox, it’s still scared and trying to get away from him. He put his hand on it’s neck to stop it from biting him so he could reach over and release the trap. But please go off without context, really showing off your moral superiority here :)

Man, I really hope that was his trap and he didn't just record himself committing a crime.
He's relocating the fox. The reason for relocating can be to protect livestock (like chickens) or protecting pets and/or children. The trap was made to hold the animal, but it doesn't cause much pain for the fox. Mostly discomfort so it doesn't break its own paw to break free. Some people set traps for a reason. It is far better the animal die for a purpose than road kill- that is more often than not just someone rushing to get to work. Its not about hurting, a proper trapper doest want the animal to suffer, just like any other hunter. A quick painless kill is always the goal.

@jimmycombs8159 I know some people had lines on their traps to ring bells or empty cans nearby so they could hear them.
