I knew your dad back in the early 70's.......Ask him if he remembers...Johnny Lee and Company or Johnny Lee and Chapter five...and finally Everett Slade....
On this day in 1976 {February 28th} Jonathan Cain performed "'Til It's Time To Say Goodbye" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... At the time the song was at #44 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, that would also be it's peak position on the chart, and it spent nine weeks on the Top 100... In 1980 he joined Journey and was co-composer on all ten tracks of the group's seventh studio album, 'Escape', and on September 6th, 1981 the album peaked at #1 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart... Jonathan Cain, born Jonathan Leonard, celebrated his 68th birthday two days ago on February 26th {2018}...
@Caroline It is a cool tune that Jon co-wrote with a singer songwriter named Candy Kane (no relation to the late blues singer) about a woman trying to escape an abusive situation. I played guitar with Jon back in those days and did the records and this show with him. I have been looking for the performances from this show but so far no luck.
Looked for the song on UA-cam and nothing. Then googled it and still nothing. Put his name and solo album and nothing. I bet the song they played first was the more known song, even if not well known. Maybe Chris can give us the name of the song they played before the interview. That or some other song that can be found to listen to. Or maybe even upload the album:
This is way before his days with Journey. Cain was in "The Baby's" in the late 70's before joining Journey.
Lucky to see The Baby's and Journey on one bill.
The guitar player is my dad. 😊
Chris Arnold is it really! That’s so cool👍👍😁😁
You're a luck kid and so are John's kids, cool Dads.

@@Wescoot2 Lol He was JUST telling me about Everett the other night on the phone!
@@chhangzhou Until C.V. hit he was still playing several nights a week. He's taking this "time off" to work on some original material in his studio.
Listening to Cain’s audiobook. Good stuff

He was born: Jonathan Cain (born Jonathan Leonard Friga; February 26, 1950)
Reading you biography Jonathan right now. Great read so far.
I never knew he came out with anything on his own in the 70’s!!
No volume? There are sound booster editing apps and software.
Love❤ John Cain!! So talented and classic-one of a kind!! So articulate!🎉
This is really cool to see, I just wish we could have heard the song too. " Dixie and the kid"

Dick Clark almost 47 yet barely looks 35!
Handsome dude
Exactly my point darling
He’s a survivor of the Our Lady of Angels fire December 1,1958 in Chicago.
Jonathan Cain was in The Baby's and Journey🎶
Wow!!!
I have the album "Windy City Breakdown." Not a bad piece of work at all!!!
Funny how Faithfully and Open Arms have survived all these years.
And Yet, Don't Stop Believin is one of those songs that will last forever..."uncontained"

The audio is so low I can't hear it.
He'd go on to some other band.
