  • The transpose and octave buttons are useful for obvious reasons, for instance transposing a song to accompany a singer. But they can also be used creatively to shift tones beyond their normal range for some interesting sounds . Using the registration buttons to store settings will also free your right hand to continue to play melodic lines.

      Thanks for the feedback and glad you've found the tutorials useful. It's the manual that's the main problem which is very hard to fathom at first - but there's a lot of potential in the keyboard itself so it's worth persevering! All the best.

    I'll take this video (well, your series of videos for CT-X3000) as a sign that this is the keyboard I'll buy. 😁

    Can you make a video of the following:
    1) How to adjust the volume of the secondary duel/ layered voice.
    2) How to save your edited tones/ layers.

      @StewartWallaceSJWMusic  2 роки тому

      I'll look at that in another video when I get a chance. In the meantime:
      1. Adjust volumes in MIXER (long press MIXER button) and use arrows to select the layer you want to adjust
      2. Tones can be saved as USER tones, but LAYERS are combinations of tones so save those as REGISTRATIONS. Both can be saved internally and onto a USB drive.
      Hope that helps.

    Hello Stewart , on ctx 3000/5000 , are we able to raise the octave of a lower layer we may have set up like say strings and can this play whilst playing an accompaniment ? I want to leave the upper layers as they are no active change... ive tried to do it on my ctx5000 but cant see how to do it .. any help would be much appreciated

      Yes that's possible. Do a short press (SP) on the FUNCTION button and then scroll with the keypad arrows (1 & 3) until you get to OCTAVE. Press ENTER. Now use the keypad arrows to scroll through the various layers - U1, U2, L1, L2 - and change the octave value (from -3 up to +3). Save your setting in a registration memory and then it will be there for you again - each registration memory can be different octave settings.
      I hope that helps and makes sense. Let me know if it's still not working. All the best. 😎

    How do you transpose 1 side of the keyboard without the other side from shifting?

    • @StewartWallaceSJWMusic
      @StewartWallaceSJWMusic  3 роки тому +4

      Good question! Here's the answer. 1. Short press FUNCTION. 2. Press R arrow 5 times to find OCTAVE menu. 3. Press ENTER. 4. Now you can find and adjust octave settings for U1, U2 (upper layer), L1, and L2 (lower layer). Use the wheel or +/- buttons. Each layer can have different octaves. I hope that helps. If not, I will try to mention it in another video.

    Hi , I purchased this keyboard recently. I transposed a few times for certain songs , and now in order for it to be at 440 tune with middle C , I have to leave it set at 01. I think I'm missing something, . If I set it to 00 it plays a semitone off. Is the a reset back to 440...

      Master tune should be set to 440.0 - if it already is, then I'm not sure what's happened. To check, press FUNCTION and then your right arrow (3 on the keypad) until you get to Tune. Press ENTER. It should read "440.0 MstrTune". If it doesn't then use the WHEEL to get yourself back to concert pitch. I hope that works for you! Let me know in the comments. Thanks!

      @@StewartWallaceSJWMusic Thank You for your reply. That was exactly the problem. I somehow set it at 415.7 . I set it back to 440.0 and problem was solved . I subscribed and will watch your other videos until I learn the features of this keyboard. Thanks once again for uploading your videos.
