- The Audi R8 is already a relatively rare car. They were designed to be an everyday super car. So, you will pass them on the street sometimes. The R8 GT though, that is a car that you will rarely have an opportunity to see. With only 333 models produced around the world. The Audi R8 GT is rare beast for sure.
It is always a shame to see rare cars wrecked and unfixable. But, that is exactly what this Audi R8 GT is. But, that doesn't mean that this Audi R8 GT is without a purpose. Most off the extremely rare and desirable GT specific parts on this car are still in good shape. Which means that we can dismantle this Audi R8 GT and sell the parts to be used second hand. Lets find out just how desirable and expensive some of these Audi R8 GT parts are!

This is kind of really sad. One of the last genuine supercars lost to a part out. I would pay $40,000 right now for the whole thing and rebuild it. When a channel would rather make money than restore an amazing incredibly rare vehicle, not to mention this would sell for 120k-150k all day rebuilt. Sure, parts may be difficult to find, but it would be so worth it!

There were 8 ibis white GT coupes made for North America. Suzuka gray was the single most common color on the GT in the US, with 30 of the 90 being Suzuka. That was split between 13 in gloss and 17 in matte finish.
Also, the GT wing is one of the easiest parts on the car to remove. Takes about 2 minutes on a fully assembled car.
The rtronic transmission is great. Most people haven’t had an opportunity to drive one that’s properly setup. But since I specialize in manual transmission conversions, it makes no sense to claim I’m “in denial” as it benefits me nothing to share my opinion. Manual is excellent, but I’d take the rtronic over the stronic on this car any day.

@@jbphilly1234 the rtronic requires fairly regular kiss point resets. It functions best with this along with clean fluids. The shift forks can also wear out, so I would regularly check those at every service interval.

This was my Brother in Laws car. He was behind me going to cars and coffee one cold morning. Cold hard tires and near freezing temps made the car skid across the road coming out of a circle and hitting a light pole. Both walked away. The passenger got a boo-boo on his leg from the windshield mirror. We did make it to C&C......
I think the rear cradle is different in the gt aswell.
Do you list electronic modules, dash pieces, gauges, etc.. from these part outs or is it considered a waste of resources?
We do where the value makes sense. On these r8 specifically a lot of those modules fall into the dead inventory category and rarely sell.

bro did you see the amount of the damage to the car the value and the amount of time and work just wouldn’t be worth it considering how much more you can make from parting it out i hope you continue you learn more about the auto industry so you understand this type of thing

that car is a 14-15 facelifted version.
Not really an Audi fan but this is indicative of other unique cars. Cars that should be rebuilt but are parted out instead. I blame the manufacturers more tho. Either oem new is crazy expensive or unavailable. The secondary market will always take over.

Why woodn't u fix the GT..?? seems like a no brainer?? And that GT hood coulda buffed out straight.. All of that frame damage coulda been fixed.. u get R8's alot.. get a rear impact one.. cut off the front... done..
its thanks to guys like these overbidding the cool cars at auction being money hungry to profit that you cant win it yourself and rebuild it. On the other side of the fence, it's thanks to guys like these that you can find parts for cars to rebuild.
