I didn't know Karen O was born in South Korea and she's also Polish and grew up in my home state of New Jersey! I loved this song when it came out and still do and every time I hear the song I feel nostalgic and have chills all over and when I see the video I feel her pain knowing about why she was crying. Very powerful. She is very pretty and cool too and the musicians are great.
Have you noticed that once in the song she says "They don't love me like i love you?" it happens in several live versions. My guess is that it kind of signifies that at the time the song was written both her and MAPS were being pulled apart due to career. Not all Maps fault...she had to leave too. Her fans don't quite love her like she loved him. Great song.
