      @@scottlebrun6782 I think Ian would have quit and done his own thing after a couple of years. He was already a great poet and writer. I think the problems with him playing live and his condition would have led him to be a writer if he had been able to sort his personal stuff. It's interesting to think if he would have hooked up with some other personalities from the post punk era.

    Peter come back!

    • @BenniRoR
      @BenniRoR 6 років тому

      It's his own fault. He has been an angry idiot. Let him have his band and let New Order continue without him.

    • @Djlullaby22
      @Djlullaby22 6 років тому +4

      Nobody knows whose fault was it. The thing is they have been friends since they were 10. Both compromised in order to continue with the band for years. You should listen to Hooky's interviews, he seems pretty honest about what happened.

    • @BenniRoR
      @BenniRoR 6 років тому

      Well, just because he sounds honest, it doesn't mean that he is necessarily right.
      He might just believe that. I mean he could be really convinced of his point of view, instead of simply lying.
      Now I don't wanna say that he is an entire asshole or something, but there is no doubt that he was and is quite an outward, extrovert and "rough" personality, so I don't think that Bernard was telling lies about all those insults and accusations.
      And let's not forget who left the band: it was Peter. He declared the band to be disbanded, without talking to anybody. He just proclaimed this in a freakin telephone interview on a radio show.
      And even IF he was actually thrown out, as some people suspect, there has to be something to it. Why would Bernard, Stephen and Phil do that suddenly?
      Oh and what I STILL don't get is, why people still "mourn" his departure from the band. It happened 10 YEARS ago, but people still behave as if it was yesterday or something. Get over with it already...

    • @Djlullaby22
      @Djlullaby22 6 років тому

      It's Bernard's words against Peter's. Where's the telephone interview? He said he didn't announced the band have split up but was the journalist who took it out of context like every smart journalist do. But both have strong personalities and Hooky was rough since day one. Why only now that he was actually getting away from alcohol and drugs they decided to thrown him out. Strange. And Bernard said that when Hooky decided to make a Joy Division concert "he opened the gates of hell". I wonder what is so wrong about someone deciding to play the songs he co wrote for his own band. It was only that that action the thing that made Bernard continue to reform New Order. Which is fine. They both are doing what they love separately. But people can't expect people erase the past of New Order.

    • @BenniRoR
      @BenniRoR 6 років тому

      Well, just look it up. Every source says that in a radio interview early in the morning he said something amongst the lines of: "I don't think that I will continue to work with Bernard. New Order is done."
      Also, it's not only Barney's words against Peter's. Stephen, Gillian and Phil have also spoke out against Hooky and I don't believe that all of them have suddenly turned asshole and the "whole mean" world has suddenly turned against poor little Peter.

      I think that's his way of coping with voice strain. Stuff like this can help you loosen up a bit and take the strain off your vocal cords.
