I agree entirely. CNN had a great article pointing out that for every McDonalds or Disney that had sharp downturns, there was a Chipotle or Texas Roadhouse that had a spike in sales. What's happening is that those companies that took advantage of the Covid spending spree by raising prices are now hurting because that was always going to correct. Consumers have now taken those vacations and spent down their pent-up consumption and they're now reevaluating their spending. In other words, things have returned to normal and we're basically back to 2019.
As a watch collector, I look forward to a recession and stock market collapse like in 2008, since watch prices will collapse and will be a great buying opportunity.
Is that you, Marc Frankel? I just found out he's hellbent on getting that beauty, too - he's actually got me wanting one now. I'm also all about the smooth bezel and baguette indices - gorgeous and, at over 220 grams, it's the absolute FU heavyweight of our dorky world.

Not that this would affect you either way howver, I now have a deep respect for you Federico, and I will seriously be looking out for a timepiece from your shop...
Can you source a white gold Pepsi with meteorite dial? The manager for our Rolex AD (Ben Bridge) promised to sell me one but even she couldn't get one (several years ago), so I got an Aquanaut.
What are your thoughts on Christopher Ward? Theyve come out recently with watches that look very very nice and the price point is very attractive. The Twelve X is truly amazing!
Is it? Isn't the skeletization a bit bad looking? Or maybe it's just me. I do love their watches though. Currently have like 10 watches from them and am waiting for the 4 ice cream watches
I like CW far more than Bremont and those minimalist quartz watch brands created by Millenials like MVMT. Those are all made in the same Chinese factory, only the branding is different. Just like mattresses that come in boxes. Avocado, Saatva, Purple, Casper, etc. All made in the same factory in China and drop-shipped to the US customer. But their ads are sleek and Americans, for the most part, are suckers for ads targeting "sophisticated" buyers. We recently bought a mattress from Mattress Firm and the sales manager told us how these worked.
Great answer with the F U question but I have a problem with the question. You should be buying a watch that you love and not one that’s going to be impressing others
Another BP option is the Leman, I have the flyback chronograph. Also, I picked up a Zenith Elite Port Royal V a few years back. Aside from the $700 overall cost (ouch!), it's a great piece.
Hi Fed, in one of the answers you mentioned non Fifty Fathoms Blancpain vintage 1990’s - early 2000’s. Would you please mention a few , models , serial numbers, etc. I like the photo of the white dial on the brown strap shown within. What model & reference is it? Thanks so much & wising you a great weekend.
Fed, I’m an economist. Likely a recession yes. Does it impact the watch market? 100%. Watch sales/market over the past cycles have always been a leading indicator of issues in the economy. The watch market has this huge problem today, and even worse issues with “the race to the middle” in the entire watch industry.
My guess: The Invicta Bros had enough of his bullying, forced him to wear a 120mm watch, and the watch case cut into his hand while his hand was on the steering wheel.

@@user-iz9co4qf6zClinton and Obama had strong economies. JFK also. Truman before that. Presidents have a relatively little to do with the health of economies. 🎉We have nice watches.

I like the watch I got from amzwatch. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.
Hey Fed, totally agree Blancpain dress watches are great value. Quality + depreciation = collector bargains! All the best, Ed
Great video Fed
Best F you watch imo is the day date 41, platinum/ice blue if you can afford
That is a good choice….
NICE CHOICE 👌 I go with a full gold Rolex GMT on Jubilee from the early 80s
