Just speculation, but most of stock pics coming close to GCam are in very good to enough light conditions. GCam mostly shines in indoor and low light case
Yep I was also hoping for low light testing and especialy low light video, but the video is still pretty informative for a start.
EXACTLY....I have RN9Pro & like he said, I usually use it in daylight pics if I want the photos to look dramatic but at night, the MIUI Camera's night mode is nowhere close to GCam's nightmode, it isn't even a competition. And GCam's astrophotography is extremely good. No amount of custom settings in stock camera gives me picture quality/noise reduction/star visibility that GCam's Astrophotography mode gives.
Edit:
I forgot to mention the portrait mode which is much more realistic & reveals facial features than stock camera since stock camera over-saturates & over-exposes the image a lot compared to actual life.
Custom rom users only hope : gcam ❤️

Well, I prefer gcam photos because gcam captures hell lot of details, so if I want, I could edit that photo afterwards.

Many year back i used to use Motorola X play , Mi A1 phone. At that time GCam was hard to install because phone companies locked camera to api. But when i did install Gcam. i was never using stock cam for photos. the Photos from gcam were awsome. but now i m using Oneplus 7T and i have tired many Configs and apks but the Difference is not that much between Gcam and Stock cam. i miss good old days. but but gcam is still good for its astrophotography. the details in sky is awsome. and also night mode is good in gcam than the stock cam in one plus 7t.

@@abhay_verma Yeah I got your point but still if you consider any budget smartphones they aren't upto the mark. I have both redmi note 7 and 8 but still Gcam clicks better picture in night mode.
But I think in the mid range segment the gap is very low, both the stock and Gcam takes good pictures.
@@avinashekka512 yeah, you are probably right , the budget phone's camera performance is improved to a higher extent compared to a mid range or a flagship phone. Night sight still works as magic in budget phones or mid range phones with poor camera
With my MI A3, I can't imagine not clicking a image with GCam. The details, the color balance and accuracy, dynamic range turns out to amazing. It's like the GCam beings the best out of my camera. Where as the stock camera is a disappointment except for clicking images with flash or text that needs sharp focus.
Same experience, I have Realme 5i having the same processor Snapdragon 665 like Mi A3 and I can agree totally.
1- Colors and details improve in normal photos.
2- Selfies look natural as compared to soft bad looking on stock camera.
3- Dynamic range and portraits improve hugely ❤️
4- In really low light situations or at night, the results are impressive (having almost no noise and distortion surprisingly)
5- Portrait selfies are beautiful
The only place where it struggles a bit is video recording, videos look overall better in stock app. For photography Gcam is 🔥
Being a custom ROM user on redmi note 8 and use gcam as my main camera, I will say I am very happy with the experience and images generated by my phone.

iam using some kinda modified version called Hypercam in my Redmi note 7s....though the shutter speed is slow.....the results are amazing .....the photos looks over processed and extremely dramatic and i like it this way

Gcam makes a huge difference on my asus Max Pro M1, SD636. Images are crazy good. It doesn't have wide angle camera, but gCams panorama and 360 degree mode gets the things done. Night sight is magic...! Portrait is also too good. you must have good Gcam settings setup. Click pictures in outdoor lighting conditions. Processing of images and camera shutter is fast in direct sunlight.

I use A redmi Note 7 pro with Gcam 8 workig flawlessly with or even without A config file...And most of the times specially in Night Mode and Potrait Shots it kicks the MIUi Camera out..i Think it depends more on the company as they need to send the phone to the DEV.
I'm still using Redmi Note 4 on Pixel Experience ROM Android 10 and Gcam works so sweet that I don't want to change phone for another year or two.
Which website do you consider as reliable for moded apks? I know Ytricks is one of them.. any other or better alternative?

In my experience, I used Gcam on number of devices such as Pocophone f1, Realme X2 Pro, OPPO Reno 2, OPPO Reno 4Pro. The only phone with much better result was Pocophone the others not so much. Especially the night mode was ten times better than the stock camera on poco.
Update after 2 years:
Experimented with 2 more phones but one did kinda well the other one did not. Realme GT Neo 2 did kinda well in some scenarios especially in portrait mode. But on Galaxy S22+ Snapdragon version did not do so well with crashes and stock camera app was better for the most of the times.
Xiaomi phone literally support it perfectly i experienced it. And others not.
I personally tested this on pocophone and then samsung . now i got to know why poco phone and gcam went well.
I love techwiser...but I believe this video is incomplete without night photography, camera features comparison with HDR+Enhanced mode
I use gcam on OnePlus 6t, works smoothly and clicks better pictures

Use YANDEX ... It's along running service therefore trustworthy. And has unlimited free photos storage (not videos though)
Considering how deep rooted WhatsApp has become in our daily lives, I don't think the changed policies will push us to switch over on Telegram or Signal anytime soon... I mean we all know how notorious Facebook is yet we still use fb and instagram... So what difference does WhatsApp joining them makes 😂

I got BSG gcam paid version...there is so much settings it's crazy...on all gcam you can push saturation to get that ''warm unatural happy picture'' so test here gotta be taken with a ''pinch of salt'' :)

I installed gcam on my ROG Phone 3. It drastically improved the quality of night photos and portrait mode. Front and back.. colors , edge detection etc. And also super high dynamic shots improved

Gcam runs butter smooth on stock Android phones like Moto and Nokia.I Use gcam on my realme x3 and dad's Moto G9 power .Works very very good.Potrait mode , video mode everything works.

Finally the gcam related video I was waiting for. I tried every gcam mod on my realme Narzo 20 Pro and the same lagging issue persisted. I thought that the unit I received was faulty or I was doing something wrong.

TBH gcam pictures from my Narzo 20 Pro are far better than ones from stock camera (especially the night mode ones) and it brings cool new stuff like photo sphere etc too.

I prefer oneplus stock camera for human subjects and Gcam for nature photography! The dyanmic range improves a lot on gcam compared to oneplus stock camera
But I think Samsung's own image processing is good anyway. They don't have to use gcam for taking good photos or videos as they already have the best in their phones.

Talking about gcam when it comes to take picture perfect gcam worth that because I use redmi note 5 pro and never opened miui stock camera on my phone. You should wiser to use gcam and its settings like when to use hdr+ mode etc. When it comes to use cheap budget mobile which i was using gcam is way better than any other camera, you can edit gcam picture when you have better hdr quality picture.
But i would like to consider GCam before i buy a phone. And i got mind blowing results from GCam in my realme 7. I wish i could show you the images.

Almost all Nokia phones has splended support for gcam.
Gcam performs on par with Nokia in day light (well, for the must part),
In night, Nokia cam performs awful but gcam gives a eye popping images with very good outputs. 👍

Verdict is if you're making effort to download Gcam with right XML file for your phone... Then You're also willing to retouch the gcam image in Photoshop... And then the gcam image is really amazing...
On one plus Nord night selfie I use Gcam that's the only purpose I installed it and trust me it whoops one plus 32 mp front camera easily but when it comes to rare camera

Most of his ports work on RealMe devices, I've tested it on Realme 6 as well but it is somewhat buggy on Realme 1
