As a person who is not from the UK and hasn't eaten chips, I want to know what the difference is between chips and French fries. Are chips just thicker French fries?
Hello there. Chips are proper spuds, cut thick and deep fat fried. There are good spuds, white and fluffy on the inside and with a nice crunch on the outside when cooked properly. There are also cheap spuds, often slightly sweeter in taste and fry with a brownish colour. French Fries are often processed potato with little taste. If you not had chip shop chips before then you are in for a treat 🙏🍟
