Same here. As an aviation enthusiast who loves those Airbus planes, it’s easily recognizable as a certain narrow body plane by Airbus. I always say the type of airplane it is every time I hear that noise ✈️
Occasionally I've heard them make an extra loud sound similar to the 0:29 - 0:31 mark which sounds as if someone was dragging furniture against tiled floors. Aside from it being ridiculously louder it also last slightly longer than heard in this clip.
@@moneyfalcon267 extremely loud, to the point where it'll frighten a sleeping person. Like I said in my original comment it sounds almost like something is scraping against something else, also it's more low pitched than high(think of a bellow rather than a screech)
In my case, apart from that sound, the same thing (0:30) is heard in the exact opposite way when the plane starts moving away from me (I.e the freq of sound now starts increasing...) I live about 25km away from an airport...wonder what causes that
The sound @0.31 seconds is the air brakes being deployed. This is a control surface on the top side of the wing which is tilted vertically into the air stream to reduce the aircraft velocity. You can also tell when it is retracted again by the noise stopping.
It gets worse as the planes wear….i live right where they do this…it horrible and nobody wants to pay for our triple pane windows…nobody even says anything..I feel like I live in an alternate USA.
@@kotygoroschkostudios8326 The Airbus A320 family has round holes for the fuel tanks to be on pressure with the outside air. Air flowing across the outside plane blowing over those holes create the same noise as blowing over the top of a bottle. The Boeing 737 family has rectangular holes, so you won't get that blowing over the top of a bottle effect and thus not that sound.
@@AbroadXperiencesYou’re talking about the wrong sound here. The sound in this video is the speedbrakes going up mid flight, create make a really deep pitch howl like in this video and you can hear them going up and down. I have heard this sound on the A320neo before and the sound you’re talking about is a much more smooth and consistent whine which is higher pitched which Airbus has fixed on the neos.
I can always tell it's an A320 or A319 passing overhead when I hear that whooshing noise
Me too. Above lelystad we here this also often and I tell my wife it s an a320. Distance is indeed approx 45 km from schiphol in our case

This noise is also present in the Neo family
I live under the flight path of approach to Heathrow. I often hear this, especially 0:31 and always wondered what was causing it.
Air brakes
That sound is caused by the PW1100g engines which resonate at a specific frequency. It's also called the whale sound.
This Airbus was equipped with CFM engines….
its not a neo
thats a different sound. It sounds werider
No. This sound is caused by the speedbrakes

is it like a loud whine

I hear this noise sometimes, but in 767s!!
I often hear JASDF‘s KC-767.
Yeh I heard in jet 2 757s too
I’ve heard it from a C-17!
The A220 version of this is very noticeable.

Speed air brakes
Flaps
Rj 14x was the best for this.
You could even hear it on the plane...
Canny beat the whoosh¬

Speedbrakes Deployed
Those will be rooted in power control and the Doppler effect.
Interesting! But how does that sound occur?
Air blowing over the vent holes on the wings

Doppler effect……yup! 😊👍🏾
