Kinda reminds me of the 5 axis machines we had at B & W in Barberton, Ohio back in the 80’s, but B & W’s were much, much bigger. They built nuclear steam generators for the Navy. We had some with nutating heads and contour cutting (“U” heads). I still don’t see too many of these around. The Ford plant up in Cleveland used to have a “U” head on their large 5 axis mill for molds. You could cut a reverse taper (or contour) in a bore with a “U” head. Almost every shop I ever worked at at some unusual machine that no one else had, and it’s job was specific to the product they built. The more shops you worked at, the more you were exposed to the exotic equipment. I enjoyed it. Soaked it all up like a sponge.
i work on a B&W atm, its a pretty solid machine and fun to use because i work in the energy plant sector i get to use all the fun big stuff i also was trained on a georg ultraturn and some other lathes that i forgot the real name off, just know the firm intern name
This thing is nuts. I’m not even a machinist but I love his attitude. Always positive and there’s no limit to his imagination. Always looking to go bigger and take everything to the next level.
Hi, what a machine. Such a high RPM for a large machine. As I said in one of my earlier emails I worked for Seco Tools here in New Zealand and I understand the difference in the range of milling holders. You mentioned a BT taper with double contact (Big Plus I think it was called) but they are not as good as HSK. The problem is when the machine operates at high RPM the spindle grows slightly and rigidity can be lost. The HSK being hollow grows with the spindle and maintains double contact across the range of RPM. You may like to cover this in one of your very explicit videos in the future. Cheers Ian
I don't know anything about machining, but I love watching this stuff. Who know such things existed? Everyone should be more aware of the work that goes into making the things we use everyday.
So. I’ve ran machines with 400 inch travel. I spent four years at Westinghouse working on Turbine motors. Now I’m 76 and make the best big wood tops in the World. Life is Good. Nice Machine.
Nice titan, I work as a cnc mechanic and we also sell, build, repair and do maintenance on ibarmia machines (and other brands), there a few bigger ones then this also smaller but still yours is really cool and ibarmia makes amazing machines
Lovin y’all’s videos!!! Very informative about 3 weeks ago just started working at a company learning to rebuild spindles……been doing hvac for 9 years before so it’s very much new to me and tons and tons of new information im trying to learn but so far it’s awesome…. And sometimes it seems overwhelming seeing that im 31 and starting at the very bottom again pretty much knowing nothing about the spindle world. Keep up yalls great work with the videos!!
Man Titan, your passion for this work is awesome to see! Wish you would’ve been around when we were developing the 5-spindle profilers at Cincinnati, and working with Kennametal when those Harvi U8X mills were also in development. First time we did the “bobsled” cut in 6Al4v with all 5-spindles…it was awesome! I’ll remember those times forever! Thanks for doing what you’re doing!
These videos are nice, but let’s be honest: The CNC machine tool business in America is almost dead. We hardly produce anything compared to what comes out of Asia. China laughs at our pathetic equipment. The American tool and die industry, and CNC business won’t recover until factories return to the United States, but there is no indication that that will ever happen. Mexico is much a friendlier place to do business. These overblown UA-cam videos are designed to make people think that U.S. industry is still in the game. It’s not. Mexico and China took away all of our factories with assistance from Washington. Washington actually wants America to go bankrupt; that’s been the plan for fifty years. So they got rid of the factories, made the legal environment impossibly complex, and declared war on men. In a communist country, everyone is poor together. So we don’t need factories, or anything. Long live the revolution!
Love it! We just bought our 7th Machine this year alone! American Manufacturing is our future! Making in House changed the game for us! All because you inspired us and we did10X the sales we though we could this year!
you also have a HSK 160 which is just a beast of a tool in our company we actually make tools for kennametal and if you look at some of the tools you are using i'm pretty certain some of them are made in Slovenia by ous
Never put yourself between an axis and a hard place mate. You had me nervous standing below that spindle 😱. You never believe an axis runaway is a thing until you get one! Great mill btw 🤩👍
hsk stands for the german words "hohl schaft kegel" which means hollow shaft cone. hsk 100 is massive. the biggest i have dealed with is hsk 63, which is quite common
HSK also has a much higher pull force than any ISO,CAT or BT spindle which only improves as the speed increases. I've been on a HSK-100 where the spindle can go at 12k RPM, mainly because the weight of the tool is a lot less than the standard taper tooling The next step up further is Capto but there's not a lot of spindles what have this built in
That's some diamond for The eyes indeed.... I did some work in The past on CHIRON DZ24W series wich got nearly same size of magazine (with "external" Magazine included), however it was Double spindle machinery , so the count of tooling you culd divide by 2 tbh... Can't wait to see this Beauty in action
You gotta have one of those. Pretty high spindle speed for that kind of horsepower. Would be killer for big aluminum jobs. I use to turn aluminum at over 8000 SFM never tried to mill it that fast. 😂
What would something like this even possible cost? 😲 just ballpark. Plus the amount of money it would take just load tooling in and the electric to feed that thing in a day's time is mind blowing. You the Man bro.

Beautiful machine! I run a couple Makino T1 5-Axis horizontals. Similar design and platform. I have a little more travel on the negative end of my A axis. Incredible machines! Boom!
