I’m blessed to say that I will be married 48 years in just a few days, and an 11 year cancer survivor.
I use several shades of Maybelline Fit Me Concealer as a light foundation. It definitely is an adventure finding new and wonderful products. Have a beautifully blessed week my friend and thank you for your lovely videos. ✝️🌷

Love the 80's shot of you! It's a toss-up regarding how much makeup I wear compared to my younger self. Less concealer, eyeliner and lighter shades of blush, eyeshadow and lipstick. But I now wear brow pencil, highlighter and contour/bronzer. Blessings to you and Desi from Midas and me.

I'm 63 and I hardly ever wear makeup anymore. I started wearing makeup when I was 12. I use Merle Norman then Esteem Lauder. I was the type of person that couldn't go to the grocery store or Post Office without makeup on. I retired when I was 62. A few months before I retired I got my eyeliner top and bottom and my eyebrows tattooed on. I absolutely loved it. Now all I do is put lipstick on and out the door I go. I wish I would have tattooed my eyes when I was younger. Love your videos. Keep up the great work.

Flossy, please continue to “do you” !! I love that sassy attitude!! I am the same age as you and feel more confident about myself than I ever did in my youth! I wear as little or as much makeup as my mood and time constraints dictate. And I never let society’s “rules of aging” set my standards.
If they had their way, (as a woman in my sixties) I should go climb under a rock and be forgotten. Unmmm....No way, no how! I use my voice and my makeup brushes equally to state otherwise!! And have lots of fun all the while!!😉

I miss the 80s makeup, clothes and sheer hose with heels! Those movies are my top 2 for sure! Both reflect periods in my early years. I was in love with two men and did the right thing, worked on my marriage which sadly ended anyway after 23 years. He was the love of my life--we just didn't know how to be good spouses to one another as we grew up. If life's twists and turns brought us together again I would welcome it.

Wonderful video again 💜 I wear more makeup now at 49 than ever before. It makes me feel confident and put together. If I don’t wear much people ask me if I’m unwell 😅 so even my ‘no makeup makeup’ is still quite a bit more than I ever wore as a younger woman. I have shadows and redness to hide, contours to try put back into my face shape, mascara and eyeliner to make my eyes stand out a little and look less tired, and blush to make me look alive and youthful! …. But it’s a self care process I enjoy and I do it for me ☺️💕
My favourite products right now on my paler winter skin (I’m in the Southern Hemisphere) are bronzer and blush. I never used to be a bronzer fan but boy I am now. My favourites right now are and Anastasia’s bronzer in the rosewood colour, and Jouer blush duo in Rose Gold. Both a little more expensive but worth the splurge for me xx

I've never been one who really liked makeup but I started wearing it when I started having age spots. I dropped it entirely when we were wearing masks and I'm starting to pick it up again. I have to thank you for the wet and wild hydrator it is amazing! It's like magic it absorbs into the skin and yet it gives a light coverage it's absolutely perfect for me

Yes definitely wearing more makeup. When you are young you can get away without much but with sun damage and skin imperfections makeup is a great help. I actually bought more skincare products and new makeup during the lockdown and my husband noticed & commented how good I looked. It pays to make an effort even if it is just for yourself.

I think when we love with all our being and we lose that love , the pain of that loss if we survive it gives a rebirth of something beautiful, I believe a whole new heart and soul shows it self .
My makeup routine has not changed, I wear very little I’m 71 , I just try to be my best self with my bronzer and mascara in hand :)🌷

The Way We Were is one of my fav of favs! When I was young I went once by myself & stayed through 2 showings! Now that I am older I no longer wear makeup on a regular basis like I used to. Only when I am going somewhere or someone is coming over, and now when I do I use a bit of a lighter touch & almost always leave out the eyeliner! Plus after all these years, a year or so ago my husband randomly told me I was pretty also without makeup, which was a shocker, because he never says anything like that!

Hi! Just had to tell you that I enjoy watching your videos. Something about you makes me feel calm and always puts a smile on my face. The last 6 years have been very difficult, to say the least. I lost my father in 2015, my brother in 2018,, and my husband in 2019 (the love of my life). I have been in the hospital and a rehabilitation facility, which I was discharged in Nov. 2020. It's a long story, maybe I'll share it with you one day. I am thankful for each and every day, I am thankful that I can walk and have resumed a "normal" life again. Some days are still difficult but the majority are good. But like I said...watching you puts a smile on my face Thank you for sharing so much of your life.

I butchered that quote but I had the right idea I think! It has good spf and is hydrating with the perfect level of luminosity. I am challenged in finding shades thst are not too yellow or peach I'm a cool fair and can wear either 21 or 23 in Missha. The best makeup tip I ever received was when I turned 40. My cousin, a makeup artist for professional dancers, told me : no eyeliner on the bottom after 45 because it pulls your whole face down. It’s so aging. I see older women do the black eyeliner “raccoon” look. 😬

I now definitely go waaaaay lighter with my make up...but I do have a problem with my eye pencil, which tends to smear....so my question for you is, you say you use a powder on your eyes...What kind of powder? Do you put it on before you draw on the pencil? I think you said you put on the powder after you put on the pencil. If you could either demonstrate OR explain would be helpful.

I love when the rain comes down hard. It must be such a blessing to have a balcony. I lived in the same apartment complex years ago. I had a different apartment. I loved my patio. I had my chairs & a little table out there. The apartment I’m in now the patio slopes down. I can’t go out there at all. No more chairs or table. Since I can’t get out I never go to a drugstore. My girlfriend will go if we need anything. I’m desperately trying not to buy anymore makeup. I’ve bought so much over the years. I only end up using certain palettes all the time. I keep decluttering but still have too much. Now there’s palettes I just can’t give up. Yet I barely wear makeup. Only when I go out which is very infrequently. I’m still tempted by Huda Beauty eye palettes. I did buy three small ones during the Sephora sale. Your 80’s makeup was over the top. The blush was so much. The one drugstore makeup product I love is Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Erase Treatment. I think that’s right. I only use that for my under eyes. See you next week. Love you, Lucy

Interesting perspective on those movies. 💌
    I believe....
"Nothing was meant to be ours forever, just borrowed" SkH
Those movies represent the challenges in life, letting go. Not getting a happy ending you thought. But persevering. Finding love and contentment without a somebody.
Being at peace with what life doesn't give us.letting go of expectations. And enjoying the ride till it ends. 🙏

I love my makeup and bath time. It lifts my spirits getting fixed up even when I have no where to go. Part of taking care of myself and making myself feel my best everyday. I love your Cadillac! I have an almost identical one in pearl white. We call the car "Fancy." I also have a little dog to keep me company, my poodle Bougie. I don't know what I would do without him. Thank you for your videos, I enjoy them!

I am a makeup connoisseur. I have been since Jr high school. I was the one of our friend group who taught all our friends all about makeup and hair. 1984 graduate here. I've dabbled in makeup artistry all of my life. I've done weddings, proms, pageants, makeup for country music videos shot in Nashville, TN, you name it. I have just always loved it. Now that I'm 55 I wear so much less than I used to. I wore a full glam face every single day until I got to be in my mid 40's. Then I just kept cutting back. I wear mainly concealer, waterproof mascara (the Maybelline Sky High waterproof is amazing btw), a small wing eyeliner and sometimes red lipstick, but always at least a gloss. I may warm up my face with a lil bronzer, but I rarely wear eyeshadow, highlight, contour, or foundations. It's just to hot where we live. I live in the deep south where the humidity is brutal. But yes, the answer to your question is yes I wear a lot less makeup in my 50's. Your 80's makeup challenge was done beautifully today! Oh how I miss those times!! Another great video girlfriend!

At my age (71) I find myself using more skin care than make-up. I used to be big on all the latest make-up, but found it wasn't doing my skin a favor. Now, healthy oils, retinol, moisturizers and lots of cleansing....and sunscreen. My friends are complimenting me on my healthy skin. Thanks Susan for your help. Hi Desi!

I love makeup! Always have, always will! It has changed some as I age. I don't contour or put on lashes and sometimes I just wear one eyeshadow. But when I leave the house my face is done! I'm loving a lot of K beauty products because they are both reasonably priced and use great ingredients. Drug store brands I still love are Loreal Voluminous Mascara, Loreal Lipstick in Spiced Cider and Revlon lip liner in Sienna. And for dry skin I think there is nothing better to remove makeup than Ponds Cold Cream.
I loved your 80's makeup. What a great time in our lives that was! I agree there is no loved and lost. To love and be loved, even for a short time, leaves memories that can be enjoyed. I refuse to dwell on the bad but just remember the good times. Love changes as we age. It isn't the hot passion and burning desire of youth. Still it is good with more of a slow burn and trembling heart. Our experiences allow us to grow stronger and become more independent. And, we aren't dead yet so there is still time for one more dance...or perhaps three or four!

Hi Susan, in the 1980's I used to wear full coverage foundation, deeply contoured blusher, triple eyeshadows, mascara, eyeliner and lipstick. I would not leave the house without it all on. Even when I was at home full makeup minus the lipstick. Plus my hair was always layered and curling tongs were part of the process. Now I wear much less makeup. When at home I wear no makeup and when I am going up town visiting etc I wear only foundation and lipstick. First I cleanse with a tiny bit say half a centimeter dot of Antipodes Juliet Skin Brightening Gel Cleanser and a little water to foam in hands and lather face, warm face cloth off and pat dry. Then I use a centimeter of Antipodes BaptiseH2O Ultra-Hydrating Water Gel, a little goes a very long way with both. I use Living Nature foundation to face spreading lightly with fingers. Then Living Nature illuminating foundation on cheeks sides of face sometime I mix them and use together. These are both a liquid cream foundations and are lovely. I have lash extensions my daughter does for me and its best not to wear any eye makeup with them as it causes them to not last long. The lashes are stunning I just love them just like that. So from heaps of makeup to streamlined basics with luscious lashes that's me.

First I must say Susan you were absolutely beautiful in this video - I loved the top you were wearing! I didn't even notice any puffiness from the dental work. I have just had 2 root canals on my left side of my mouth so I know how you are feeling. I think I still wear the same amount of makeup now at 56 as I did at 21! I just apply it a little differently with a lighter hand. I love the Revlon ColorStay Matte Foundation, the Revlon ColorStay eyeliner in black, and the Revlon Candid HD loose powder. Those I have to always have in my makeup bag. I use a wide variety of both high-end and drugstore when it comes to blush, eyeshadow and lipstick but relay on those three Revlon products all the time. I so enjoy your videos and try a lot of your recommendations! Desi is just the sweetest little dog!! Thank you for all you do and I look forward to next week! Sending lots of love to you and Desi! ❤️😊❤️

I just found your channel tonight, and I love it, and you. When I was young I was a hippie, and didn’t wear any makeup. Now, at 67, I wear makeup when I go out, but not at home. I wonder how much money I have saved on makeup over the years? I have found that as soon as I find a product I love, they discontinue it. One of those was a Maybelline mascara. It was perfection. Now my holy grail mascara is the waterproof Revlon SuperLength. It never clumps and makes my lashes so full and long. I buy several at a time because I am afraid they will discontinue it! For eye shadow, I LOVE the Two Faced Matte Chocolate Chip. I use it EVERY time even if I combine it with other palettes occasionally. And it smells like chocolate! What’s not to love? For concealer, nothing beats the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser. Brightens and covers wonderfully. I have many more, but I will spare you. As far as skin care, I STILL wash my face with the original Noxema, and moisturize with original Oil of Olay, or as I like to call it, Oil of Delay. I swear by both of them. My Holy Grail shampoo and conditioner was discontinued (of course) years ago, even though they briefly came back with a new formula, which was not good. It was Vidal Sassoon in the brown bottles. OMG my hair was glorious when I was using it, and I always got compliments. So SHINY! Why did they discontinue it? WHY WHY WHY!😭 And why am I so verbose tonight?😂

Hi Sue, I absolutely loved the eighties, it was my favourite decade. Both my children were born early eighties, so my memories of having them small and all the little precious moments we shared, will always be in my heart.
The nineties on the other hand was a whole different ball game. I lost my Mum, my forever love decided he wasn't my forever after all, I lost my home and for a while, I even lost myself.
Looking back, although the eighties were my favourite years, I learnt more about myself from the nineties. Its easy after all, to be happy when things are sailing along just as you thought they would. Its when the going gets touch, that defines who we really are....Thank you for this video Sue...Love..Bella xx🌟🌟🌟

Hi Susan, I've loved and lost 3 times now but still believe in that deep, overwhelming feeling ! I actually wear less makeup now ( I'm 64 ) than I did when I was younger. I am currently using a new product that my daughter-in-law sells. It's a fantastic total body tanner called " Nu Skin " Sunright insta glow self tanner. It doesn't streak, turn you orange and feels amazing on your skin. I just exfoliate first and put it on like a moisturizer for an instant glow on my face. With it being in the 90's and humid here in upper Indiana, it works great. I love you girlfriend & look forward to watching you every week. Have an amazing week, " see " ya soon

I wouldn't have been caught dead w/o makeup between 15 to 61. Now I can't believe I go out without anything at 62! I got tired of the chore of hair & makeup routine. Now when I do wear it, it's less (more makes me look like a clown now in my opinion) but I look great! It's probably the contrast between looking pretty darn haggard! I'm trying to find the happy minimum to wear that makes me feel good, and how little I can get away with. I've let my hair grow long, it's now white and gray & shiny again since not dying it blond anymore. Hair makes up for 70% of your appearance-so making the most of that instead. Physicians Formula eyeshadow in the grey palette - the best! Used it for decades and still works for me.

Susan! What a great video! You made me smile, you made me really re-evaluate where I am right now and as always you make me hopeful. I don't know about you, but I wear a little more makeup than I used to to define my eyes, but...I wear beautiful makeup that's a little more pricey because I deserve it and it makes a world of difference to have exactly the shades that suit you. My current holy grails are Artisan L'uxe Velvet Eyeliner Pencils. You can do everything from tight line to a beautiful smoky eye in seconds and Orlane Paris Blush Stick in Sun Glow. It gives you a beautiful sheer wash of color that is a soft coral that works for everyone and highlights at the same time. Bonus, it lasts 12 hours without needing a touch up. With both of these, one product lasts me well over a year. Thanks Susan, I hope that you're having a great weekend.
