I really appreciate and enjoy all your videos. I have a black 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T and the hood and roof have been damaged from sitting in the sun for too long. The clear coat is peeling bad. I'd love to see a video showing how you would fix something like this or just some advice. I'm going to repair it myself so I'm trying learn everything I can from great people like yourself. Keep up the great work!

You can buy graffiti nozzles for Rustoleum paint cans that give different patterns. Be aware that there is an older version of Rustoleum nozzles that don't fit the current style cans without an adapter.

Attempted to diy paint & clear coat. Inconsistent weather, wind, temp...resulted in orange peel, a lot. One side cut and buffed well, the other side though, blotchy and dull spots. Any suggestions? I have NOT waxed/sealed the spots, just wondered if I should/could add another layer of clear? OR....sand it down redo..? Thanks for your videos and information.
Thank you ,I would sand it lightly with like red scotch brite and dust a even coat of the color let it tac then re clear that side. Let me know how it works or if you have any more questions!!!!
@@ACDesignsGarage Thank you for the reply. I will have to "redo" both panels. Just to light of a clear coat, needed another can, outside, no shade, windy...etc.
See you do it the same way I do when it comes to rattle cans, start at the top ( where possible ) and spray at an angle ( where possible )
It's always easier to follow the line spraying into your previous line, than it is working away from the previous line without a wide spray pattern

Use a wing nut on the band so you can tighten the can with your fingers besides having to use a screw driver.

I really struggled with Rust-Oleum Copper Metallic Finish. Tiger stripes no matter how close I got the overlap. I tried doing the second coat 90 degrees to the first coat. Really frustrating.

I'm doing a 8 ft bedside and you can tell where I stop , bcz I only spray half the bedside. Should I spray the whole length in one continuous spray?
Yeah it does help on keeping stripes out, and it's a great practice to be in.
Have you tried the spray tip with different settings on a regular can?

Does the overlap technique change when spray painting a metallic paint? Would you 50% overlap, 2 coats then mist another coat before clear? First timer may give it a shot after watching your recent vids! 👍
Thanks for watching, Im thinking about doing a metallic video this week maybe. Yeah I'd do a 50 to a 75% overlap for 2 coats then do what they call a drop coat, which is to basically hold it higher and mist it on a light coat to give a even look then clear coat it. Now it's a different animal if your not clear coating it because it won't shine with the light coat.
Looking forward to your metallic paint video! The quotes I am getting to repaint my roof and trunk where the clearcoat and base are failing are absolutely nuts so I think I’ll give it a shot. Anything would be an improvement!

Thank you, the 2k have a great fan tip so you could just use the 50/50 over lap like the black 5 in 1 can I sprayed and youll do great!!!

I rattle canned my car but didn’t clear it last year. I want to rattle can it again with the same paint (same color and brand). Do I need to primer it or can I just rattle can it if I block sand it? What grit sandpaper should I use? TIA.
I would probably wet sand it with red scotch brite and dawn dish soap, that way it cleans it and sands it all in the same time. Then you can dry it off and make sure you have it all scuffed. Unless it's chipping or have any bad spots you shouldn't need to prime it. If you have any more questions let me know!!!!
