I have a cool MGW story and why I’ll never use anything else. Years ago I bought a foxbody and was drag racing and snapped the shifter. Car had t5 and loved the feel of the shifter. Found it was a mgw and called them to order another. The lady answered transferred me to George I didn’t know he was the owner. Told him what happened and wanted to order another. He asked what color it was and told him. He said that was the first edition and found there was a weakness. He got my address and said he would send out the revised shifter. I said I haven’t given you my credit card info. He said I’m not charging you, the shifter has mgw on it and I’m mgw and we stand behind our products. Since then every manual transmission Mustang I’ve owned has had an mgw shifter.
Change the fluid with BG Synchro Shift II, with additive. Works wonders, made my 2021 GT with the MT-82 feel like a new transmission and almost silenced the gear box.
This is a great video Dude. I have to admit that "anything" is better than stock. The only way this video could have been better is by comparing the Barton. I switched to a Barton and could not believe the difference. It comes down to driver preference. Thanks for providing content that matters instead of constantly promoting your ego like other channels.
I love your content and your other video about the steeda was a big reason I ended up getting it. I hope you make a video about swapping the oe fluid to the BG syncro shift II as I read that it improves alot of the crunchy shifts. Also I was wondering if you had any issues with putting the oe shift knob back onto the steeda. I cant tighten it more because reverse wont lift up properly if I do but it is loose and doesnt stay in place.
Alex I currently have a Calloway short shifter in my Corvette. It is better than the MGW. Never tried the Steeda shifter. Sounds like you are staying with the MGW. Cheers‼️👍👊💪🔥🇺🇸
Im new to mustangs my 2024 GT almost always has trouble going from 2nd to 3rd when im driving hard, grinds and doesnt wana go in. I suppose this is what is known as lockout? Will either of these fix that problem?
I had the MGW X-SPEC mounted on my 2020 PP2 and it’s a great quality shifter but I didn’t really like it. It was precise but mushy feeling. My nephew has a Barton mounted on his S197 GT and I enjoyed it way better. Much more of a clicky feel which I assume is how the Steeda feels as well.
Had both of them but like the Mgw shifter better it is effortless. Smith and shift much better then the steeda shifter. And the reverse is much better to push down then pull up hated that function.
I did a Steeda Body Mount and the Steeda Trans insert and it was so loud and had way to much vibration for me.. I pulled the Trans Insert back out and left the body mount in and it was much better. Also the heavy noise and vibration was gone once I got rid of the trans insert.. I am planning to one day do the MGW shifter because that's the one everyone says is the best over all.. (Honestly if you Don't go to the Track or you are Older and you are more of a weekend chill out kind of guy, You are not going to want either one of these shifters truth be told because the NVH will be to much for you. You will be like what happened to my nice smooth feeling car afterwards?..) If anything the MGW would be the best way to go..
MGW is amazing and now my favorite. It does have shift ball vibration bc directly mounted to transmission but man is it perfect at shifting into gear. It feels like a whole new car. Now I see why ppl love them so much
@@Zander13Productions I will eventually get one. Just not really needed yet.. I actually made out pretty well using the Steeda Body mount bracket.. It really made a difference that and a shifter ball..

Yes. I prefer the MGW
Nice video Have you tried the steeder Spring for the pedal?
I have it. 1000% worth it
@Zander13Productions cool
thank you
Have you driven a Dark Horse to see if there's a difference? I have one and I am curious what the feel is between the two.

Any plans to take the GT to the drag strip to see what it’ll do? There’s not much 1/4 mile data on MT82-D4 cars out there.
High RPM lockout is cluch related, not shifter. T belive the 650 also has a factor twin disk, but still not as good as McLeod
🔥🔥🔥🔥
can you gorilla shift it and see if the shift forks will break?
They fixed that issue years ago
But how do they compare to a Tremec? I got spoiled driving a '22 Mach 1 6-speed.
It’s pretty similar now
How many hours did it take you for the MGW install?
About 1.5
Damn no barton shifter?

I’m in love with this MGW after a few days now
People are going to like what they are used to for the most part..
