  • Today, Jared and Joe head back down to Lujan Motorsports in Miami, FL for the finishing of the first round of mods for our 2024 Ford Mustang GT Build, now adding on the Mcleod RXT Clutch, MGW X-Spec Shifter, Kooks 1 7/8" Headers, and QA1 Carbon Fiber Driveshaft.

    If you’re using stock catalytic converters you will plug them. I have a 2023 F150 with the FP700 package. I only have 5,000 miles on the truck with 4,000 miles on the FP700 package. The cats are plugged and my truck is at the dealer getting new cats under warranty.

      Same shit with the GEN 3 engine. Mustang plugged multiple cats with Roush Stage 2 kit. Every 5-7k miles had it in the shop get new ones.

      Wrong. Comparing Mustang to F150 mainfolds is comical. You realize Ford offers a 760hp SC Mustang right? Why dont the GT500 cats melt instantly then? Answer. They are different than an F150s LOL

      @@tylerolson5860 Had a 2020 Mustang with the roush stage 2 kit (750 horsepower) and had the exact same issue as him that’s why I replied. Not everyone has the issue but there are many people who have had nothing but problems with the cats melting/clogging. Don’t be a keyboard warrior bud.

      @@clutcher25 And again the GT500 cats are NOT the same as the F150s nor GTs. Ive had 3 S550s this isnt my 1st day either. 2nd why would you keep putting GT cats in knowing they will melt.

      There’s already video of a Whipple dark horse on the road, if you know how to use the search feature on UA-cam you’ll find the video

      We filmed the dyno content last week. It's in editing now and should be released shortly. We also have some driving content reels up on our IG page. The full driving video is also in editing and will be released once it's finished. The car is nasty and will surprise a lot of people thinking it's not going to meet or beat the HP numbers that a Gen 3 with Whipple put down. We appreciate your patience though. Just know that we are doing our best to get the content filmed, edited and released as soon as we can.

      ​@@LethalcampIt was already on the dyno whats the hold up? Dyno sheets and dyno info is live and in realtime or do you got to send a check in the mail and wait 5 to 7 business days? LOL you guys screwed up showing car on the dyno then dick the dog showing results. Well actually zero results so far. 😂😂

      We have the Boundary combo ready to install. We just didn't have time to get it done when we installed the blower and rest of the goodies. However it will be installed on the car before it goes to the track.

    People asking for dyno numbers, they think it’s gonna be less hp than the previous gen because they’re sheep and some useless tuner called it a dud and he must know everything, but it’s either gonna make the same power because it’s basically the same car and people will be salty that they’re older car is not better or it’ll make a bit more power and a little less torque and people will complain about how it looks again

      Whipple tunes are soft, the FP700 F150 can't even beat a stock 2024 which has been documented to be edged out by previous model stock to stock.

      @@79stroker that’s just not true I’ve seen multiple races with the outcome between the gen 4 and 3 going in either direction (stock) and absolutely zero chance that any 2017 and under mustang gets anywhere near the 18-24s (stock)

      @pronoob_allday5632 sorry was talking 18+ on the Mustang side. As for the FP700 F150, losing to a stock 24 Mustang shows how poor the Whipple tuning is. Which will be exactly the same as the 24 Mustang. Don't get me wrong, glad there is a company granted access but I'm betting will be underwhelming at the track.

      As a 24 owner. What's the issue? I waited a year to get my 2018 Hemi tuned. I'm not finding a lot of tuned C8s tuned. The S650 has only been available for a few months and Whipple had a supercharger waiting. When the Dark Horse GT3 hits the track and spring rolls around. Tunes will be available. That's less than a year. Meanwhile enjoy your new Mustang GT or Dark Horse. If it's a Dark Horse. Adjust your camber and take it to the track. It's a bad ass track car direct from Ford

    Is the stock automatic transmission capable of reliably handling this level of power output? If buying a mustang with the intent of installing this kit, should one opt for one transmission over the other in terms of longevity?

      10r80s are great transmissions just they have a hp limit prolly 7-800hp but should probably tune and build trans if your going for those numbers

      The most common failure on a 10speed is the CDF hub/sleeve, the hub is aluminum and the sleeve is iron and the hub will expand with heat causing the sleeve to move up or down the hub or in extreme cases it will spin inside the hub, this is bad because there’s holes in the sleeve and the hub where fluid travels through to apply the C,D and F clutch packs (hence the name CDF hub/ sleeve) ford redesigned the hub to prevent the sleeve from moving up or down and so far I have not had the updated part come in with a sleeve that spun out of alignment, I also have no clue if all new 10 speeds have the updated hub, but it wouldn’t make sense for them to continue producing the old design, also power isn’t necessarily the issue it’s mostly the heat

    For all you Floridians like me police are starting to enforce the Modified exhaust laws that were passed in July 21. I recently got a ticket here in Pensacola for a bolt on Muffler on my 12 mustang. Same on my trip to Miami to visit family in Eureka park area accept I was only given a warning. Just a heads up as police can now use this law to pull any one over. FSS 316. 272.

    So maybe I missed it , but what fuel system was used , and is this on E85 ? Hopefully it makes good numbers

      The car is running the complete Whipple stage 2 kit which includes 2020+ GT500 injectors and uses the stock fuel pump. We did however opt to install one of our Fuel+ fuel pump voltage boosters as we plan to test a few smaller pulleys which may push the limits of what comes standard with the stage 2 kit as far as the fuel system goes. All testing is being done with 93 octane at the moment.

    great setup! small question, how many MAFs after this setup? i hope its one. duel intake fine but i hope its one MAF :)

      There are two MAF's just like factory. Each intake has a MAF/Temp sensor just after the filter to meter air and intake temps coming from each side. There's no negatives to this at all.

      @@Lethalcamp Should I change the engine oil and use new synthetic oil? What oil specifications does Whipple recommend? How many liters of oil does it take? Can a Mishimoto Performance Thermostatic Oil Cooler be installed for Ford Mustang GT 5.0L?

      @@tylerolson5860 Serious question with all of the trolling aside. What do you expect the car to make on 93 octane with the Stage 2 Whipple kit? Full transparency the car has 1-7/8" headers, Corsa HH pipe and the factory axleback. I'm curious to what your expectations are.
