- We spend our first day in Ipoh, Perak exploring the old town and sharing our first impressions of this Malaysian city most tourists don't know about, answering the question: what is it like? This beautiful & underrated city is known for its stunning landscapes, enchanting local culture, and exciting attractions and there's no better way to explore than taking a stroll through the quaint, cobblestoned streets of Old Town Ipoh to take in the sights of the historic buildings, Chinese shophouses, and the beautiful street art. Outside of the old town there's so much more to see and do. You can visit the Ipoh limestone hills and explore the mysterious caves, temples, and waterfalls. In the evenings you can head over to the Kinta River walk and enjoy the stunning views of the gorgeous riverbank which lights up at night. Ipoh is also extremely famous for the Malaysian white coffee which originated here and all kinds of authentic dishes you can only try in Ipoh Perak! There's so much to see and do here in Ipoh, so let's go and see if it's worth a visit on your next trip to Malaysia.

Ipoh is my hometown. I grew up in all the places you’ve visited. Ipoh known as an art town in the sense of cultural gravities, music, theatre etc. Taiping (near Perak) also has become the retirement home for senior citizens here. Dont forget to complete your journey by having breakfast at New Hollywood (Best combo with Kuew tiaw goreng, Chee Cheong Fun, Roti Telur Goyang, Kopi Ais) and have morning walk at Padang Polo Ipoh! Keep making videos!
We also prefer Ipoh compared to Penang. Food is great, coffee is fantastic. FYI, pomelo is famous in Tambun, which is very near Ipoh. Best pomelo in the world.
If you're in Perak, don't miss checking Taiping, Pangkor Laut and Lenggong
Near by Taiping, Kuala Sepetang is a nice place.
Nice vlog and missing Ipoh so much coz I used to sing with my Band in Casuarina Hotel way back 2003 and loved the food and the people there.
I believe last year Ipoh foreign tourist arrival increase from 5000 people in 2019 to 50000 in 2022. People are finally coming to Ipoh after a lot of exposure from international media. I am excited for Ipoh.
I was on the train from Georgetown to KL today & was watching your video a few miles before Ipoh. I was so tempted to get off the train and check out the town. Unfortunately, couldn’t stop, but all your videos have helped to make my first visit to Malaysia extra-enjoyable.
Glad you found our content useful 🙂 enjoy Malaysia!
It was formerly a tin mining town ..... migration of mostly Chinese from China...now we are Malaysian....
Thank u for this wonderful video n for also showing your explorations in Ipoh.
It's my hometown and food paradise indeed, dim sum, bean sprouts chicken rice, pamelo, kuoy teow, white coffee etc,1915:St Michael secondary school ,nice and old buildings

kuala kangsar also a good place to visit. a lot of history to discover there.
Nasi Ganja is actually Nasi Kandar.. they just named it Ganja because of the addiction for it.. yes its Ganja here is the same as in your country language wise.

You should go and have breakfast at New Hollywood in Ipoh! Awesome retro authentic Ipoh breakfast!
that white building with a cross is a school. It's a Christian Missionary School named after Saint Micheal. The longest serving La Sallian brother; Datuk Brother Vincent J. Corkery who taught at SMK St Michael Ipoh in the late 1950s and then appointed as Brother Director in 1971, passed away on 22 March 2016.
Welcome to ipoh

at 18.59s that is St. Michael School. One of the biggest and famous school in Ipoh.
Ipoh mali ❤❤
Malaysia is so underrated in South East Asia, 90% of the world don't even know where Malaysia is and Ipoh is totally underrated in Malaysia that even most Malaysians do not want to visit Ipoh, let alone live here. On top of that my English sucks!
Try the bar that has Ben opened since the 1930s - at 2 Tracher street…not fancy but has a very old world feel, talk with the owner..Alfred, he can tell u a whole load of stories!!
I suggest both of you going to melaka.melaka is awesome city in history..
They have gone to Melaka

The white humongous building next to the large field is St. Michael's Institution. It's a famous school in Ipoh with so much history.

Hello my dear from ipoh
Hi guys...if u want to eat go to ipoh night market...they have fully choice food..gud luck!
Guys good vlogg of beautiful Ipoh. Hope you can explore beautiful Taiping and Pulau (island) Pangkor which is off Lumut (naval base town). Both are still in the state of Perak not too far from Ipoh. Stay safe Stay healthy.
Some of my suggestions if you’re in Ipoh, try to visit:
- Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village
- Gunung Lang
- Tasik Cermin
- Gerbang Malam
- Gua Tempurung
Next, if you’re still in Perak, you should try to visit Cameron Highlands (an hour drive from Ipoh) & also Taiping (also an hour drive from Ipoh).
Taiping also was one of the historical town in Malaysia. There’s lot of good foods, the oldest museum in Malaysia and lof of waterfalls. In Taiping, you can try to visit:
- Taiping Lake Gardens
- Bukit Larut (Maxwell Hills)
- Bukit Merah Laketown
- Spritzer EcoPark
- Kuala Sepetang (Portwell)
Thanks for all the suggestions 🙏
Bole pajak kereta untuk bawa kita naik for 1 day trip?😊
Gerbang malam is a night market. It open 7pm every night….
Great that you both are in Ipoh, my hometown. Ironically you have discovered places that I have not been to! Now that you are there dig in the food man! In Ipoh you can just eat and eat like there is no tomorrow.
We had some great dishes there! Would love to come back🙂
Hey my hometown too. I grew up in the Canning Gardens area. Have
Nt been back for years. I hope you went to Leech Street for the chicken rice?

Nasi Khandar is traditionally seasoned with opium seeds, so maybe that’s why !

Go to Kuching City on the Malaysia Borneo side guys. I am sure you guys like it since you have spent sometime in Laos. It's just my recommendation.

There's going to be a huge hari raya Aidilfitri open house at Dataran Merdeka this Saturday from 10am. Do go if you're free.😊
A little late, but congrats on 50K subscribers! I started to watch you just before you got to 10K, during the pandemic. Seems so long ago, but just a couple of years! I sent you a little gift via paypal in recognition of 50K. I don't remember, but I got to Laos in December 2022/January 2023, to Vientiane and Luang Prabang. It was fabulous and your videos helped a lot in my planning.
Thank you so much, that is very generous of you! Glad our content helps🤙

Hei..fishing in Malaysia u dont need license, u can go fishing everywhere u want, but not in private place and area.
please come to Terengganu and make content at Pulau Perhentian, i miss the scenery ;(
Gua tempurung.
EARTHPEOPLE APOLOGY --- our comment after your last video (getting lost in KL) --- was expressed in an unkind manner. We are sorry. The same feedback --- stated positively --- would sound something like --- "we look forward to more of your offroad adventures in Cambodia, north Vietnam, extreme-northern Laos, and perhaps the Philippines --- with plenty of your cool drone shots."
You may be simply enjoying Malaysian again --- to catch your breath --- and to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
But keep in mind that Medan, Sumatra (the world's 6th largest island) is right next door--- and a cheap flight from KL.
Love and peace from the Earthpeople
That's very nice of you but it really isn't a big deal at all!🙂Crazy adventure coming soon though🙌
If you saw a white couple, probably vlogger dananna. Scandinavians
Look at those cheeks! Starting to puffin again 😂 happy to see them

Ganja is marijuana in English 😅🤣, it's just like nasi kandaq. Ganja in Malaysia is illegal except for this dish just to let you know how fun it is to have nasi ganja...In Thailand ganja is normal stuff ...I ln Malaysia those witt takers got it from black market
