- This is an amazing addition to the tropical garden. It is amazing value for money if growing from seeds and very quick to germinate. Caster bean plant offers jungle look in few months time and cheap plant for jungle look.

Thank you for your help here..my husband loves this plant as his mom always grew them. So he’s pretty excited about them. I just put the seeds in a dish of water a few mins ago as you suggested. TY 😊

I have kids and a dog and babysit other dogs. I have grown castor bean plants for years and so far so good. From my understanding, only the seed or inside the seed is toxic. As long as noone or thing is eating that youre fine. Other parts of plant like the wax has other uses just do internet search.

These are very easy to germinate. They germinate usually within week or so. I did at indoor so around 20 degree celcium at day time

It can be planted indoor from March on wards, these are super fast growing so late April is fine too! In terms of watering , I find it quite forgiving, I only water when soil is mostly dry:) . It has grown around 6ft tall now and full of seeds!

If you give the soil warmth, they germinate very quickly. My home temperature is around 21 degree Celsius and seeds germinated just in a week.

How deep to plant the starter plant?
If you are talking about seed that may be just over a cm. If starter plant then same depth you receive it in. I hope this helps. Thanks 😊

Hi, when the castor stalk is cut, does the plant die and not purify like other plants, such as tomatoes and peppers, or does it grow back again!
Hi Alya, I can only tell from my experience that one of my young seedlings snapped at the top and it never grew any new shoot to revive again:(
I had to just let it go. The one I had last year (semi mature 3ft tall) when autumn arrived, I cut the stem to see what happens, but nothing happened not sure if that's how it is or it was winter.
