- For all of you who love flowers gardening I am going to talk about very intriguing way to get more and new varieties of flowering perennial plants for garden. Perennial or biennial flowers can save me money and time, but buying mature perennial flowers from garden centres can be very expensive. I start to browse flower seeds catalog for seeds availability and study if plants, I am choosing will feel good in my garden. This video I make for you, completely true experience with all my success and failure. Now, After two months of waiting I finally received seeds from seed supplier. And I planted all my seeds one by one in long trays using potted mixed soil with slow release fertilizer. I didn’t use any heating pads or additional lighting, I just placed trays on the windowsill south west direction and waited. 1. Physostegia/ obedience-plant; 2. English daisies/ Bellis Perenis; 3. #Shastadaisy /Leucanthemum × superbum; 4. #Foxglove/ #Digitalis purpurea; 5. #Delphinium/ Larkspur; 6. #Lupin/ lupinus polypyllus; 7. #Hollyhock/ Alcea rosea; 8. Myosotis scorpioides/ Forget -me-not; 9. #gardening Armeria maritima/ Sea pink; 10. #Achillea marshmallow/ Achillea ptarmica; 11. #Coreopsis/ Tickseed flowers; 12. #Gaillardia aristata/ Blanketflower; 13. #Lavandula/ Lavender Hidcote Blue; 14. #Aquilegia/ Mckana Giants; 15. #Dianthus/ Sweet William; 16. #Echinacea/ #gardening Coneflower. #perennialgarden #AnnualFlowers #Garden #PlantingSeeds #GrowingSeeds #FlowerBed #perennialplants #gardeningtips #flowergardening #growingflowers #seedsowing #seeds #seedlingtrays

ARE YOU PEOPLE FOR REAL?? 🤔😩🤦♀️ The LOVELY LADY took valuable time out of her day to Inform & Educate us about those ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL Plants (She's Spot on Knowledgeable) & All you GOT HUNG UP ON WAS WHETHER SHE SAID "PERENNIAL OR PRE-ENNIAL?? I HEARD PERENNIAL & Some slip of the tongue but COME ON ya'll!!?? we all have 2 or more words that's a Pesky trip up.
**So no need to come HERE with your HIGH MINDEDNESS- DEGREES OF EVERY KIND, IQ HIGHER THAN A NY SKY SCRAPER SELF.....GANGING UP ON SUCH A SWEET SISTER & THEN THROWING HER UNDER THE BUS. May the good Lord help you to be Kinder & More forgiving. 🙏❤
👏👏👏
Agreed! There were a number of words said differently than I do, but it sounds like an accent. No big deal
I have not come across too many such pedants lately because I watch videos from all over the world. I appreciate the lack of haughty criticism I find in some US comments. Kindness and forgiveness, not words in their lexicon.
Hi, Could you please make a video showing us how you separate seedlings crowded in the big trays? Best, Albert
Is it me? Or are you saying "pre-ennials" instead of "Per-ennials"
Yes, that is what she is saying.
Yes she is speaking incorrectly many times throughout this video. I always hope to learn from these videos but she needs to study before making another video.
Yep she is it was distracting lol I kept saying NO it’s per not pre 😂
I give her credit for trying the botanical names.
What are you people talking about? She is doing just fine. Get a grip.
STOP SAYING PRE ENNIAL.........SAY PER ENN IAL......🙄
Aquilegia, Echinacea, Rudbeckia, Geranium Maculata, and New England Asters have been self-seeding themselves in my yard for 14 years. I don't like the new types of Echinacea that don't produce viable seed, but the descendants of my original plants are still doing great. I tried to grow Rudbeckia from seed this year, but it has not done well. Not to worry, the descendants of my original plants are doing okay. I grew shasta daisies from seed about seven years ago, and they are still thriving.
I had great success with Rudbeckia by winter sowing last year - maybe give that a try next season. I planted them out last April and they bloomed in summer and lasted until frost.
I bought me a bunch of seeds from, Dollar Tree. Can't wait to plant them. I just wait til all frosts are gone, which is about the middle of May. I plant them straight in the ground. I saved a bunch of my zinnias seeds from last year, they really do good for me. I know they are a annual, but I just really love them. And my blue morning glories done so good last year also. I bought 12 more packs this year. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I love yarrow. I got it growing wild out in my field, but it's just that dirty white. I would love to be able to grow the yellow and the peach color.
I really appreciate all the footage of each plant in various stages of growth. Thanks for such an informative video!
I made my front and back yard a Botanical Garden(my neighbours call it) as it was invaded by grubs. Everybody that passes by admire the beautiful flowers, even men (lots). Every fall, I've been collecting seeds then put in an envelope, put the name of the flower and year, then save them. So when those ladies ask for seeds, it's very convenient. Sometimes I just spread the seeds then when spring comes I can share baby plants.
Once you have Aquilegia in your garden and it's shady with a moist, clay like soil, you will never be without them anymore. They form huge patches of plants, many of them grow extremely tall, like about hip height and they all have different colors.
It's a really fun plant to grow in the garden.
People keep commenting about “perennial”. English is probably not her first language, let it goooo. Focus on what she has to share.
Did anyone notice she said that she was in Canada? I’m guessing that’s why she says perennial somewhat differently.
How perfectly thorough and knowledgeable you are. I recently retired and love to spend hours a day in my gardens. Your presentation is a keeper. I have collected seeds in the wild from interesting plants and have several times regretted it (swamp daisies, just don't!). Watching all my spelling mistakes and apostrophes; you have a strict and critical audience. Thanks for making the video.
I was born hearing impaired; I constantly get corrected and even had people say I have an accent and ask me where I’m from …I tell them it’s not an accent it’s a lisp.
I will rewatch this video and take some notes 😊
I couldnt believe how many seed packets you had and you planted them all! Amazing, so much effort in this one video. Glad its not just me, i planted 2 packs of forget me nots and got nothing lol. Thanks for the jam packed video 🙂
Excellent video. Like how you leave the names up while you explain. Also like how you explain germination rate, cost and amt of seed. Excellent video, especially for newbies. I'm an oldie, but enjoyed very much, even learned something. Thank you very much.
she says preennual not perennial
@@bowler8 she obviously knows that it's perennial because she wrote it in the title. Maybe in her part of the world that's how it's pronounced, maybe it's one of her quirks. It doesn't matter. Anyone with more than 2 brain cells would understand even if they noticed in the first place.
And more importantly it doesn't detract from the quality of the information and the video.
I like that you show the whole process and include what worked and what didn't. Also seeing flowers I never heard of, it's nice to expand beyond what you plant year after year.
I try something new in my garden once per year🐛
Obedient plant is anything but obedient, grows everywhere after sets seed. Beautiful flowers is later summer though.
Oh, love the little dividers you made for the long pots, I'm going to do the same!
Im in zone 10a Florida. I can't grow every one you mentioned but I still enjoyed learning about them. I've included a lot of different kinds this year that will grow year after year here. I'm loving it too.
Excellent all around no nonsense talking in between just straight forward information. I'll be following Classy Flowers for sure.
They are called per-ennial, not pre-ennial. Thank you for showing all the pros and cons of your perennial seed starting.
Hi, I had the same question. But I thought it may have been the Canadian pronunciation... Best, Albert, SF, CA, USA
I appreciate all stages and information that you documented. I’ll be referring back to this video again and again. Thank you.
I enjoyed your video! Double check your pronunciation of the word “perennial” though. 😊
Winter Sowing is also a great option that has worked well for me with some of these varieties!
I thought it was too early for winter sowing
@@sarahpirkle9476 It's never too early for winter sowing. That's what's so great about it.

Beautiful flowers plant and nice information thanks
Just trying to help you a bit. It is not pronounced PRE- Enial. It is PER-. Like PUR- wRen- neal . Per ren nial. You are so great to tell us how to plant these. You are very helpful! I in turn am trying to help you! Hope this is helpful! Let me know!
Can cold-stratify some of these seeds to increase germination percentage ... also keep an eye on the Lupin - they are so aggressive! either prune before seeds or be overwhlemed with seedlings everywhere!
Yarrow can be ground-layered as well if you don't want to collect their seeds (Simply bury a connected stem and it will root quick that can then be cut and moved)
Thanks for this video. As a new garden owner I’ve learnt alot. Happy gardening 😊
I love your channel. You explain everything really well. I am new to growing and excited for next year with all my seeds. Hope I see some flowers this year. Thank for helping all of us!
Obedience Plant is VERY invasive!
Unfortunately ,"obedience" is invasive.
I would add Popies ! easy to saw outdoors , they grow themselves )) I would consider it perennial because they will drop seed and replant themselves
Live at 9200ft altitude and I just scatter flower seeds, whatever I get is great
That vlog is so educational, all my favouvorite plants
I was planning to get seeds from William Dam seeds. Glad it worked for you. I will buy towards the beginning of next year.
My Obedient plants spread very easily.
Great info thank you and your voice is excellent for video
I really enjoyed this
Thanks for sharing nice video
Like this idea, I am having issues growing my coneflowers from seed. Thanks for the information.🐜🐝🐛
This was really great, 💯
Thank you for the information. 🌺
Great video! I am always happy to find another Canadian gardener on UA-cam. I also get many of my seeds from William Dam - they are great. I am trying indoor seeding with fall planting of cool annuals this year - a la Lisa Mason Ziegler. Annual seeds (as well as yarrow) sown a week ago are well germinated. Thought I would try same with a few perennials- Columbine, ajuga and heuchera. I suspect from what you said that Columbine may not germinate in time to get them in the ground with enough time before first frost. But half the fine is trying new things. Count me in as a new subscriber!
Excellent information, thank you
Very nice video. Thanks for the good information.
I like the idea of having thing there forever! I grow all mine form seed
Good information and Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Thank you,
Thanks good info
A very well done and informative video. Thank you for creating and posting it here for our enjoyment. Just subscribed to your channel.
Great video...... glad I have you Subbed.
Great video, love how you show the seeds and grown plant.
This was such a good part the the plant is also shown!
I hope you like the Obedient plant. You’ll never get rid of it.
Bumble bee like it so much.
great to see you are planting from seeds instead of buying the actual plants...wayyy too expensive
PER-ennial
I’m sure an amazing amount of effort went into this video, yet so many only hear her pronunciation of ‘pre-ennial’.
A bit of tolerance would make the garden community a nicer place to hang out…
Must be all the depressed gardeners self projecting in the off season 😂 I’ll admit it I get a little cranky also when I can’t go out there.
I know nothing about flowers, I still don't but good video.
Interesting metathesis there - pre-ennials would grow before the year 😃
Can you sow in autumn?
Hi, I have had serious slug problems with my lupine plants. How about you? Best, Albert, SF, USA
Wood ashes is the best remedy against slugs. Reduce watering and improve ventilation between plants
@@Classyflowers thanks!
Would you recommend some seed catalogs?
Pre-ennials 😂
Any tips on growing zinnias? I love them so, but i always fail growing them
We grow zinnias as annual. One recommendation: start indoor in containers, because they are very slow in the beginning. My pollinators love zinnias. They are also drought resistant annual flowers. Collect your own seeds in the fall for varieties you love.
You plant prennials I plant perennials.
Pre-ennials? really? Is that what you said?
I believe delphinium is a perennial, and larkspur is annual.
Great informative video, 1 comment, you told the common name for everything except the Aguilera or Columbine.
So many plants are now sold as hybrids so collecting seeds doesn't work. I've asked which coneflowers would reseed and the nursery told me hybrids won't. How sad that was.
Some hybrids will grow, but they will be different from parent plants. Nature always reverses human made changes back to normal. This mechanism is called “Hybridisation barrier”
We probably need one obedient plant. They spread fast
they arent 'pre' ennials they are per-ennials.
Your presentation is good, clear and thorough. Your choice of invasive foreign plants is a bad idea.
Which ones?
I love hollyhocks but they all degenerate quickly into messy rust ridden monsters . 🥺 some good suggestions there, thank you
Which are your top suggestions?
Great video; you are a spokesperson and newbies need accurately given info. It's OK! My goodness we all do it, say it and had to kearn xorr we t pronunciations.
I am still not sure about 'asclepsia'?? Correct my spelling?
Who is your favorite seed supplier?
There are lots of edible flowers that help the immune system. Or used as teas. Such as your mints for teas. They are banana mint, pineapple mint, pear mint strawberry mint, & orange mint. There's also Bergamot (edible flower) for tea. Rosemary, pineapple sage plant, & poise hyssop. There's lemon balm, lemon thyme, lemon grass, & lemon verbena. There's chamomile & cat nip, That helps anyone to sleep. Dwarf pineapple sage plant.
perennials
Why does she keep showing a clock?
That was echinacea
It’s pronounced perennial not preennial. Per not pre
She’s Canadian, maybe she has French in her speaking, she is doing great.
No, that’s not it. She just doesn’t seem to know how to pronounce perennial. It’s very disappointing.
Pre-enial 😳
Perennials not pre-ennials. The word is written on the signage at garden centre that you are filming…read it
Does it change anything?
@@Classyflowerspeople are silly. Don't let them get to you. They have way way too much time on their hands to bother with even commenting about it
Почему не на русском? Пищите перевод или вообще не появляйтесь к чему это всё?
Сегодня уже будет на русском
She is saying preennial.
PER not PRE
Obedient plants spread terribly..
pre-ennials .... why does she call them that ?
The mispronunciation of perennial was extremely distracting
It hurts your credibility to call them "PRE-ennials" instead of perennials. If you are saying "BEE-ennials" instead of biennials, that's no better. "BYE-ennials." Anyone going to the garden store asking for bee-ennials or pre-ennials will likely get confused looks. I thought you were saying pre-ennial, but then you said it for hollyhock, and I think that's a biennial, so....
Irritating
It's PER-ennial...
Not PRE-ennial...
When doing a vid to teach people, it's best to say the correct things for those who don't know at all...
I don’t think she’d be teaching people like you anything anyways if that’s all you took from the video…all that time going into the footage to actually show us growing plants in different stages…are you delusional to not credit her on that because that type of stuff you don’t find everywhere.
wait...... can you clarify what you meant about the Gaillardia hybrid. if you harvest those seeds, what do those seeds produce? it wasnt clear what you meant....
Be kind to us lysdexics.
Thank you
