Nice tach and oil pressure gauge, not found on other lesser Fury’s. 700 amp alternator needed to power rear window defogger, required in all cars sold in New York State. Rare unusual cloth interior, cool tuff steering wheel, rally wheels and white letter tires. No hood ornament or center chrome strip on hood like on sport fury models. Like the chrome remote control side mirrors operated by cables. Looks like a 360 V8 with aftermarket dual exhaust, engine block color looks like the color used on 1960s Mopars. Great survivor, nicely maintained roadrunner.
I bought a new one just like this in 1975. Yes it was marvelous color coordination with the Sundance package. I factory ordered it. I really wanted a 440 4 spd but last yr for that motor was 1974. I got the biggest they offered in 1975-400 4brl. Couldn't even get a 4 spd with the 400. It was either a 360 4 brl with 4spd manual or the 400 4brl with 3 spd auto. I owned a 1970 Challenger, then a 383 four speed Cuda, then a 1973 340 T/A Challenger, followed with thirty years with a Purple 1971 383 pistol grip Runner. God blessed me for sure!
@@loucostabile My two son's came home from birth in a hospital in my 1971 big block Runner. I was short on cash and supporting a mortgage when my second son was born. Very nice Roadrunner. I had one ordered then the dealer told me the 400 4 bbl was not available, so I told him a 360 4 bbl would be ok. Then they told me that was not available, so I cancelled the order. Then I ordered a 1976 Sport Fury, the Roadrunner was put into a smaller body style. So I had a black Sport Fury, with a 400 4bbl dual exhaust, no catalytic converters. HD suspension, alternator, battery, ps, pb auto, ac, am/fm 8 track stereo, rear defroster, and a sunroof. Tan interior with bucket seats, no console, tilt wheel, and cruise. It listed out at $6776.00 I had that car for 10 years.
The 75 Fury-based and 76-80 Volare based Road Runners have always been overlooked in favor of their 68-74 predecessors. Maybe the muscle was pretty much gone, but mid to late 70s RRs are still awesome cars in their own right! 🤘
Billy Moedebeck,I agree, they are very overlooked and underappreciated.I'm in the process of building a pro-touring 75Roadrunner.It will have the 6.4Hemi and a 6speed.I have owned the car for a while, and was offered a great deal on a 2015 Challenger that was wrecked.I'm going to use the engine, and any other pieces and parts I can off the Challenger. It should be a blast to drive when I finish it,but I have a long way to go.
I remember when the ‘75 models came out as Sport and Custom Furys replacing the Satellite nameplate and there was a major upgrade to ride and quiet as they were bringing the Córdoba to market on the same platform and redefining the Charger. The larger Fury became the Grand Fury.
@@loucostabile LOU, what is scary is 1975 is 48 years ago today! IF I went back in a time machine, I would be 103 years old coming back to 2023!!! YIKES!!
I had a 1977 Fury sedan with a 318 and I always thought of it as a big car but I remember my grandmother having a 69 or 70 Fury III and THAT was a big car. Compared to the older Fury III, the newer Fury's were indeed "smaller".
That's definitely a '70's interior! Watch some old episodes of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson from the '70's and you'll see him wearing similar looking suits!😄
I still have my 1988 Mustang GT with the Smoke (grey) interior. The cloth inserts in the seat look similar to wool, and I had more than a few grey suits that blended right in!
Hey big bro Lou! BEEP......BEEP......THWACK!...as my floppy sneakers get yanked off my stocking feet and fly across this warehouse to land on the far wall🤣😂!! This Road Runner is awesome, man. Unapologetically hard edged Brady Bunch 70's with that groovy Grace Slick 'n Micky Thomas interior. So good to see that tach, man. Thank you Jesus! Gotta see a tach in a RR. Giving the muscle and heart that they could give and bring for the time. Gotta love that! Dennis has an amazing story being the sole owner. WOW-he keeps her tip top and beautiful. Thanks for the BEEP BEEP, Lou! ;) JV Johnny ⚾
Nice because , other than that stripe, and back decals , it’s a sleeper. And wouldn’t raise many eyebrows back in the day. I like it. Spinnaker White works well
Our 75 Fury sedan was identical to the one pictured in the brochure at 4:49. I had no idea the 75 Road Runner existed. Plymouth offered only 18 color choices in 75. Ours was the Deep Sherwood Metallic with the Sheriff of Nottingham interior (just kidding).
Had not known of then'75 RR before and I'm glad he went through under the hood for some needed upgrades because that car sounds like it's packing some nuts under there. Not a very talkative owner though but you can fill in for him no problem. Love this and all the other videos Lou!

My parents had one of these when I was a kid. It was a burnt orange color and very nice car from what I remember, and my step dad also had earlier a 1970 Roadrunner with a 440. This was not considered a muscle car after about 1972, but note an open element air cleaner, headers, and that beautiful exhaust note! Might a slightly hotter camshaft gotten installed at some point? Beautiful car! And quite rare now days. Thanks Lou. You do the very best car stories.
Chrysler has some of the most shocking and different Interiors. This is almost a remake up the mod top models from 1969 and 70. Minus the mod vinyl top. Pretty darn cool🤗🤗🤗

@@loucostabile I've been subscribed and I do have the notifications on. I was just browsing through some of your older reviews. You have a lot of content👌
Lou, you have a lot of patience with the car owner who isn't enthusiastic about the interview. You did the best you could with this one. Strange owner.
Really nice car and well cared for too. Also liked that tunnel tape stripe. And I am one of those that didn't know that there was a 75 Road Runner. But, isn't it peculiar how some are reluctant to talk about the car while others will not shut up.
Since the owner didn't give much info, I will share. In 1975 the Satellite name was dropped, and all B bodies were named Furys. The chassis remained 115 for 2drs and 117 for 4 drs. Production totals for '75 RRs is said to be 7,183. The car included the 145hp 318 ( the 180hp 360 2bbl, 230hp 360 4bbl, 185 hp 400 2bbl and 235hp 400 HO-- 210hp in California) hd suspension, manual front disc brakes, 3 speed manual trans ( 318 only) carpeting, stripe package, blacked out grill and instrument cluster bezel, deluxe steering wheel, and Beep Beep horn. Cars with dual exhaust had the 21 gallon tank, as opposed to single exhaust cars' 25.5. This featured car has some odd ball options: 100 amp alt, but no a/c or Strato Ventilation, electric rear window defogger, Tuff steering wheel, factory tach, center console, Sundance interior, deck lid graphics package, and rally road wheels. Spinnaker white was a new hue for '75 and was used on Chryslers through '79. It's basically white with a touch gold fleck in it. Neat car. I've only seen 1 in person. It was black on white.
It still amazes me a car built by humans like this car only cost $4000 in 1975!! A car NOW built by robots costs STARTING AT $15,000 or more!! Man those damn greedy robots are killing the car market!!!
I agree with you Greg. - Its almost not possible for the young generations to buy and enjoy classic cars no longer. This is not good because Im very afraid that this will kill the hobby and enthuiasm for all these beautiful cars and classics from the yester years.
This man should be PROUD!!! Original owner, hospital-clean interior and trunk spaces, throaty MOPAR V8 talkin' at you like it did when it was a young roadbird! True, by 1975 emission controls suffocated such power, but it's genuine! And yeah, I saw that 1978-1979 Volare-based Road Runner, but for me, if it ain't about the Chrysler B or C bodies, you can keep it! Mama MOPAR must have raised him as a child; the devotion he paid to this priceless Plymouth! Just sayin'! 🐰
I remember this year road runner. I was a junior in high school when this was made. I love those one owner from new cars! He did not seem to be very excited over this interest in his car. I like the color and it is so under powered in these years of cars with all the pollution stuff and the detuning for gas economy. He does have a treasure there. Thanks for sharing Lou!
I remember the ad campaign for this car, "Small Fury, what alot of people have been waiting for" As archaic as it sounds now, I think it was right for the times. I really liked the Road Runner version.
Let’s all be easy on the guy. He’s old enough to have bought that car new, I don’t have that great of a memory and I’m 26. I want to get a 1975 Plymouth Satellite and drop a Dodge v10 in it. Maybe the truck engine instead of the viper variant!! Thanks for the great content as usual Lou
Theres no such thing as a '75 Satellite.'74 was the last year.Chrysler should have kept the name to avoid confusion with the stupid ass "small"Fury moniker!People might have bought more if it was properly called a Satellite.
Great car and story. I'd have been a guy that didn't think they made a RR in '75. To see one time capsuled (WTH??) is amazing. Loved seeing the hood up. All business.
This must be one of the rarest Road Runners. I was at Moparfest in New Hamburg, Ontario last week. Loads of 1968-74 Road Runners, but I don't recall seeing a '75. Nice looking car!
@@loucostabile IAM glad you have kept this car looking great after all these years I did have a model kit in the late 70s of a road runner but I haven't seen any since I was only 9 back in 1975 again thank you for sharing this over looked road runner
I could not read the engine options in the trunk and treats. So, what was the available engines on the road runner? I did see 318 V8 in the cut away picture of the brochure, but I think this must be a 360 or a 400 4 barrel carb stock. Headers and dual exhaust were obviously added aftermarket.
Lou it looked like the owner had made some modifications under the hood.Possibly headers, carburetor, and those chrome valve covers. You zoomed in on the radiator information and other incidentals but asked no questions about the above mentioned items not even the engine size. What's up Lou? On the brighter side you did ask about how he got the car and the video coverage of the car was excellent.

Back in 1975, I came very close to buying a new Road Runner, I was contemplating re-upping in The U.S.Army, that at the time was offering a substantial Re-Enlistment Bonus of $4,000!!! Do if I were to sign off another three years of my life I was gonna treat myself. I walked in to the local MOPAR dealer to special order a new Road Runner. The car I test drove was a great driver, handled and stopped as well as the 1969 GTO I had at the time, but with a three speed Torque-Flite and lowly 318 2 brl could not have ever been able to run with the GTO, at all. So I had to try an order what I wanted. When I learned the most hp I could get, with a 400 4 brl Dual Exhaust an 4 speed Pistol Grip like in this beauty in the video, was only around 200 hp? Without a single car like that around to test drive, I was very disappointed! The only real performance options available at the time was a 3:55 limited slip differential and HD Suspension and Brakes package, but as we all know the power was gone, at least for the next couple decades! Now just about any new economy car on the road today will outrun that “ Road Runner” I was wanting to build back then!
Power was indeed down back then but it wasn’t as bad as everyone thinks. From 71 to 72 they went from gross to SAE net ratings. GM for example showed large drops in power output despite the engines being the same. Rear end gearing was just as responsible for the loss of performance. A point of compression is worth about 10% power difference in a typical street engine. The huge killer was the catalytic converter plugging up the exhaust. I think Mopar was the last of the big 3 to start using them. GM was first in 75.

This is a perfect example of a missed opportunity. With the 360, which was an option (think Li'l Red Express), This could've been plenty fun. But there was also a 400 cu option. Why Mopar let the Trans Am have the place in the sun while allowing this diamond in the rough to languish is beyond me. Nice one-owner car!
The American Car I sketched as a kid; straight lined and straight jawed, so typical of everything that rolled out of Detroit in the 1970s. Best enjoyed with shoulder length hair, lace up shirts and bell bottomed pants.

I saw a 75 roadrunner in the early 2000's on Craigslist with a 318 ,and a 3 speed manual on the floor !!!! 1200 dollars !! Had a black ball shifter. Nuthin fancy. But I thought from research, you could only get a 3 on the tree. With the 318 only. No 4sp manual. Forbidden !!! I lived in CA . This car was listed in Sacramento. The only thing I could figure, was it was out of state car, or was it transformed, from 3on the tree ?????? .

Didn't Dodge build a Charger on the same platform for 1975? I swear a customer on my paper route had a Red Charger R/T he bought brand new.. This is a VERY nice example of a Road Runner. The next example of this body style would be a Dodge Magnum. Kinda reminds me of a St.Regis i had. Try finding one of those these days.
In 75 only there was a low level charger with this body along with the charger se which used the Cordoba body. The se survived to 78 then good bye b body charger
Dennis reminds me of an actor - but I can't quite remember what actor. I'm lovin' this car! But I don't recall ever seeing a tunnel decal on one before. Very curious.
How would someone find that console bc I’m cloning my 75 sport fury to model this RR and it has a steering column shifter? Is there any place that makes these?
James Lichtenberger nobody makes them. But they use the same console as in the Córdoba and you can often find those on eBay. The shifter itself is identical to 73-74 and the console doors themselves are reproduced. So if you search you can cobble together a complete console.
magnificent display of what could be considered as the last of the ORIGINAL mopar wonderbeasts. smog emissions stuff was beginning to grab hold... and all that was left at plymouth was this fury hybrid with a cartoon above the glove box to remind you: you're in America, sonny! yet all that's left is harley davidson ford F150s. oh well,.we'll get 'em next century..
Performance was basically non existent in these cars. But still really neat to see one. There is actually one of these that I see around my hometown. It's red with a white vinyl top and white graphics. Would be a VERY cool car with a nicely built 318 or 360 small block, a 4 speed, and the right rear axle ratio. Very rare and unique
Not many people like that body style of Road Runny because it's on the Fury Base but I liked the 75 Fury/Road Runner I even like the 76 Road Runner that was on the Volare' Aspen base. The 75 RR are getting to be rare the same goes for the 75 Chargers you just don't see many around any more

And that he is original owner, wowies Lou, great showing, thanks you!

I remember when the ‘75 models came out as Sport and Custom Furys replacing the Satellite nameplate and there was a major upgrade to ride and quiet as they were bringing the Córdoba to market on the same platform and redefining the Charger.
The larger Fury became the Grand Fury.

Hi Isaiah, Happy to read you have a cool car too, Lou
Nice details Adam.I wonder what the car had.318,360 or the 400?
Hi Adam Trombino, Thank you for viewing and adding to the story, Lou
It still amazes me a car built by humans like this car only cost $4000 in 1975!! A car NOW built by robots costs STARTING AT $15,000 or more!! Man those damn greedy robots are killing the car market!!!
That's funny Greg Benwell :-)
Greg Benwell inflation bud
they cost more because all the damn computer junk in them
In 1971 baseball cards were 15 cents a pack, now $2? Cars have a tame inflation rate.
I agree with you Greg. - Its almost not possible for the young generations to buy and enjoy classic cars no longer. This is not good because Im very afraid that this will kill the hobby and enthuiasm for all these beautiful cars and classics from the yester years.
Lou, did you do a video on the orange 1976-1977 Volare Road Runner behind this car? I had a 1976 Volare RR Super Pak.

Hey Lou. Sweet looking 1975 Plymouth Fury Road Runner. :)
Hey Jason, Glad you enjoy the looks of this one :-) Lou
Hi K. R. V., Happy to read this car / video brings back memories of the Road Runner you were close to buying :-) Lou
Simply awesome for 124 horsepower

This is a perfect example of a missed opportunity. With the 360, which was an option (think Li'l Red Express), This could've been plenty fun. But there was also a 400 cu option. Why Mopar let the Trans Am have the place in the sun while allowing this diamond in the rough to languish is beyond me. Nice one-owner car!

Nice example: I had forgotten about these, ( esp Aspen\VOLARE OPTION), though some of excitement was gone then; I waited for the 77 TRANSAM PONTIAC SPECIAL ED in 1977 ( SMOKEY & BANDIT) to order, as Volares package not exciting.. Interestingly I ordered an early1968 ROAD Runner( paying $200.00 Dep) GREEN/Green with all the goodies : ended up passing on Purchase while at Purdue University.....
Hi Opera, Happy to read this episode brought back memories :-) Lou
Bellissima
Nice :-)
