I first heard this concert in 1993, and I still listen to it via DVDs I have at home (I'm 81). I have few favorites that have lasted over the years, in addition to Yanni, I also love the music of Enya, Diane Arkenstone, Andre Rieu, and Marshall Styler. I also love classical music, of which I consider Yanni's work (classic). Tremendous music from a tremendous person.

My dad is a complete audiophile, he spent 10’s of thousands of dollars on a home theater system back in the early 90’s yanni has always been his favorite. Here I am 32 years old going back to it, enjoying my early childhood once again

I was fortunate to see this concert live in Seattle, Wa. in May 1997. I have seen Yanni 5 times, but for me, the Live at the Acropolis concert is my favorite. I have the original release CD, which is in pristine condition and a mainstay of music in my car, Also have the DVD of this concert, which takes me back to how joyful it was to this this concert live.
Yanni is the artist that is needed in the world right now. His compositions are perfect and the essence of his music always inspires to be better. Santorini, Standing in Motion, Marching Season or Aria are a great example of everything that is right in this life. Greetings from Ecuador.

That part at 4:48 is awesome. Kind of oriental sounding, maybe? I wish Yanni still added that part in later versions but as far as I know he never has.

This entire concert is some of the earliest memories I have. His music gives me feelings and nostalgia that can't be explained, and that is why both he and music period is such a gift to us all.
One of the greatest composers in human history. That too completely self taught. That too on an instrument where his pieces are studied for their left hand complexities and unique key changes.
If only I could tell you Yanni how much impact you have had over humanity through your music..

I had my late father who was a rustic hard working man and knew nothing beyond his farm and family. Once he watched Live at the Acropolis with us back in the nineties and he reflected about Santorini as 'this is true music'.!!

This is the beauty of music. So many artists with different nationalities making such a great artwotk, to remind us we are all humans and we can do great when together. The similar interesting fact is that the conductor of this fascinating orchestra is Shahrdad Rohani, an Iranian music legend. Another reminder to the world not to judge nationalities based on the political issues on the news. Iranians have art and mucis in theirs genes, Persia is land of culture, art, poetry and love. I hope the recent news about Iranian people have awaken the world about this truth. Peace ❤️

If I’m not wrong, I heard this for the first time when I was doing my 8th grade, I’m 35+ now and still feel the same “wow” after listening to it a countless times! “SIMPLY MAGICAL”
The build up Magic has never been duplicated. This was a once in a Lifetime performance.
Till now, I still think "Santorini", "Until the Last Moment", and "Swept Away" have been the most successful in The Acropolis among all the concerts. And it is pretty to advocate for people to live peacefully through music.

First listened to parts of this concert in the year 2000. Since then, Yanni never failed to amaze me. In 2014, my wife and me were blessed to experience him live in concert.
His music will touch ur soul.its not music it's something which mesmarizes ur whole soul.
I saw him live at a concert at Saratoga Springs, NY years ago. It was the best concert I have ever witnessed, perfection in every way. Teenagers who weren't very familiar with him stood there with their mouths open in awe of the musicians' performance. It was heavenly. People were actually so emotional there were tears everywhere. One of the best nights of my life.

I'm reading his autobiography now, 'Yanni in Words', to learn more about him and his personal and professional perspective on everything...what a life lived so right...his parents were obviously a great inspiration, and to think even before he got his music career going, he was a national swimming record holder and could have been in the Olympics...

That's how i felt when my parents put this song on in the mornings during summer, i were like 8 years old and god it felt amazing. I hold these memories very dear and forever will. Ever since then i've been a fan of your music. My parents introduced me to your music and i will continue that tradition.

I’ve been listening to Yanni every since I was born, and this concert was the first I watched back when I was a baby. My mom would put on the DVD and I would just sit there mesmerized by the whole show. Now I’m 20 years old, and currently re-visiting Yanni’s incredible music performances and enjoying every second of it!
When i get homesick, i just listen to yanni's music esp santorini and the rain must fall, it really helped me ciz it seems therapeutic. Tnx yanni for the music
