Yanni's Music in this video:
Who is listening to this wonderful music by Maestro Yanni in 2024???
This man is absolutely amazing. He surrounds himself with the very best musicians in the world! Let's make lovely music. 😊
🤗Εγώωωω!!!!🎶💜🥰
Meee on repeat
I will forever be a fan of yanni's. For his concert is by far the best I've been to.
It’s time to meditate about life .
She owns that violin solo. Best ever!
Dude is jamming the heck out of that bass, and the woman is tearing it up on that violin, and she looks great in that pretty red outfit.
His name is Ric Fierabracci.
Her name is Karen Briggs
That violinist gives me chills every time I watch her play! Amazing!
Yanni is the best
Karen Briggs is her name..find her channel
Me too
The bass solo is everything and the violin solo is immaculate. What a masterpiece this song is!
Agreed 💯
I came to the video after hearing it on Spotify because I thought it was Victor Wooten. It sounds so much like his playing style.
@@An-Elderly-DudeWooten doesn’t have a P-Bass tone imo
My goodness what about the incredible violinist? Good Lord she's got brilliant talent!
The best bass solo to me so far.
A beautiful woman playing a beautiful song with a beautiful band not a single mistake gods child
That's a man bro.

Still here for this song march23,2024. Great song🏆🏆
I love how Yanni also gives others a chance to shine ✨
And this is why Yanni is the best musician ever😊. What a greatness we have seen here..❤
Have you noticed in all of Yanni's events, whenever there's a solo playing, all musicians stare at the soloist? 😮😮😮
yeah, be respectful to others and same will return.@@nugambakkam
Every time I watch this performance I am overwhelmed by the sheer majesty of Karen Briggs solo. You can see it in her face how much she loves playing. She knows in that moment that she is making history with her performance and the glow she has just demands respect, love and appreciation for what she is doing!
Such a shame Yanni and Ms Briggs had a falling out. Magical for sure! Do love that electric violin!
The bassist is phonemal too
@@estelladog1
*Where did you read THAT* ??
😯 they did? 😭@@estelladog1
SHE TURNED AROUND AND ACKNOWLEDGED THAT BAD ASS BASS MAN , AND SAID I'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE, THEN PROCEEDED TO BRING THE HOUSE DOWN , SPECTACULAR
And to this day, no other violinist has been able to top her performance. This was an awesome performance including the bassist.
I have seen Yanni in concert several times and he has had other violinist on his tours that are excellent in their own but for me nothing like Karen. she is the one and only not only in play but stage presence. When she started to play that amazing violin , she commanded your full attention. She is like no other...period.

Karen Briggs is the better violinist. She's hands down the best one there's ever been that I've ever heard. And the other guy here is right, there have been others, but still to this day nobody has been able to get on par with her mind blowing performance here at the Acropolis. I'm not just saying one song, I'm saying all of them.
But you can see when she's playing here that she just knows that this is her time, that this was a once in a lifetime kind of performance and you can just see it in her face that she knows it too!!
4:10 Karen turned and salute to the bassist. Mutual Respect! Appreciation.
I never tire watching this classic Yanni concert at the beautiful Acropolis. Karen Briggs' part in "The Rain Must Fall" is still the most amazing violin piece I've ever heard! Amazing talent ❤ THANK YOU LADY IN RED!!
As a self taught drummer I love how tight and crisp the drummer is. And how he, the bass and the violin are. LOVE IT ALL!!!!
Everything about this song is absolutely crazy. There’s so many layers involved. The violinist, bass guitar and the drummer goes together so beautifully. Right when you think this song can’t get any better, every 30 seconds it just keeps getting better and better. At the end, I am almost at the point of having tears in my eyes.
Couldn’t agree more. Astounding piece of music.
KAREN BRIGGS AND THE BASSIST..AWESOME!!!
I've had tears by the end of this song more than a few times.
This violin solo is one of the most beautiful renditions Ive ever seen. She starts quietly, like welcoming the first drops hitting the ground, then she brings it to a climax, like she was dancing in the rain, and then she makes it scream and shout loud, like feeling so much happiness and pleasure. This is beyond perfection, i never get tired of listening to this masterpiece. Thank you, Yanni.
To me Luiz the voilin solo is the same interpetition that you made, but its on a side of starting something, then progressing, then beating up the rivals and then lastly overtaking them, in a way they dont come ahead. Taking a leap so faar ahead that it sets a benchmark......
Perfection from the start till the end. Love your description of the whole song. The guitarist is on fire 😁😁😁😁
I find a complete serenity every time I listened to his wonderful music. I do not how he does it but it has very calming effect---Bravo Yanni and regards from Mogadishu, Somalia
Everytime I watch yanni's concert,... I always ask myself what have I done to my life..
She used to be in the Virginia Symphony
Best version of "The Rain Must Fall" EVER..
It's a very rare sight to behold a person that truly masters the violin. Karen does.
She's simply one with her violin.
What a masterclass.
To this day, no one has out done Karen Briggs on this solo. The amount of emotion she is able to convey. Unparallelly. The other soloists always sounded robotic and missed its soul. BRAVO Karen BRAVO
Agree! Everybody have great technique, but only Karen have the soul!
The Acropolis album is his best ever.
Agreed!
I don,t guess so, what about (if i could tell u)
It truly is!!!!
The bassist and the violin is outta this planet outstanding performance
The bassist is from a other planet.
His name is Ric
The violinist is out of this planet and her name is Karen Briggs.
16 years and still amazing every single time. Honestly they are out of this planet...

I have the same point of view!
@@Adrianomz50 ok
No one can make a violin scream music like she can.
Agreeeee xxxx
Unfortunately not. The best is Pete Johansen from the late gothic band The Sins of Thy Beloved. But she is only second best to him..
I was 23 years old, my father was 60 years old, he was a musician and a big fan of Yanni, from an early age I was exposed to Yanni's music, I took drums to play drums with Yanni's music , when I was 5 years old I learned to play the piano and now I can play almost all of his "masterpieces", I am very proud because I can play all of his masterpieces. If I have the opportunity, I will go to your live show. From Vietnam with love 🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳♥️♥️♥️♥️
Wow, that's a great story.I took piano lessons but not for long. My grandma was my teacher until she moved away, Now I regret it. Congratulations to you and your dad.
Wow does Mr Yanni play?2024 From south Africa
Almost three decades ago, this album was my formal introduction to western music, and possibly what led to a lifetime love of music. I still remember every song from this album note for note! Immaculate!
Wow bro jaideep ! It is very hard to find someone here in india who have this kind of taste in music ! 👍🤘🏻
You're not alone bro. Wahe guru
In one word --- "Wow!"
I have this CD, "Live at the Acropolis," and it is awesome. This is my first time "seeing" a performance from it. I didn't know the violinist was a Black female. I am pleasantly surprised. Again, this is an awesome CD I picked it up many years ago while in private practice. Get the CD!
you should really question the validity of your perception of what BLACK is- what YOU think is based on being weak minded and brainwashed and has nothing to do with reality or maybe her self perception and other people's perception. People like you have a mental attitude that propagates some of the most invalid constructs that humans have in modern society. But based on your profile name, I guess that's the business you are in .
@@crabbcake Wow!
I remember little 5 year old me sitting next to my dad, watching this spectacular concert on TV. Since then Yanni has inspired many around the world and myself to appreciate music. Karen Briggs was an inspiration for me to start playing violin at a young age. I will forever love you Yanni. Thank you for all the wonderful years of your love, humility, kindness, inspiration and your magnificent music. Your music is a bridge between heaven and earth. ♥️
Same here! Im 34 now and thinking of my childhood Watching this with my dad around 5 years old too brought me back here! Hes amazing!!!
Same here, the first song/album I remember at 4. And just rediscovering, so what a treat
That single tear trying to come out of the corner of her eye at the end... Her emotions were deep on that last note 😢
They all are absolutely perfectionist with their playing ❤
She's amazingly talented ❤ ... wow! I first heard of her back in the 90's and I've loved this performance ever since.
I have no words. One of my favorites songs ever. Thank you Yanni for this masterpiece, still brings tears to my eyes. Karen Briggs is second to none, as well as Fabricio. Waiting for your next concert. ❤️
Im not ashamed to say that everytime that I hear this, I cry. This touches my heart more than any other feeling, thank you Yanni.
His music makes me cry to.
I'm of the same mind......It's difficult to articulate how this music makes us feel.....sometimes tears are enough. I'm glad, like you, we are man enough to admit it.
No need to speak of shame with that sentiment, Rodrigo-- this song just evokes that reaction from the listener!
Same here, friend. That final note on her tortured violin does it to me every time. It's more than music.

Their best concert ever. This is my 2nd favorite song. Karen Briggs' performance was exceptional and second to none. Same with Ric Fierabracci, his bass solo and tones throughout were smoother than butter. Outstanding orchestration and emotional depth. This can never be reproduced again. Thank you for acknowledging and admiring this masterpiece again for audiences of all ranges to appreciate and enjoy.

It´s the best performance by a bassist I´ve seen and, of course, an excellent violinist.
One of the greatest violin solos of all times!!! Epic!!!!!
Yanni is the best
Karen Briggs
Absolutely, magnificent and Mary Simpson doesn't even come close to Karen.
The violinist summarized everything that is Yanni---perfection. That lady was so incredible that the audience couldn't wait for her to land before applauding. I watched this on PBS when it first aired over two decades ago and she hasn't escaped my memory. I have not been seeing her in Yanni's line up of performers, I hope she's alive and doing great. I remain a crazy fan of Yanni's all these years.

She is alive and well. Still making incredible music.
@@tonidavis4739 Glad to know that she's alive and doing great. I will check her out and if she performs in my area, I would attend -- of course after COVID-19 menacing..
This is still my all time favorite concert he put on. In my opinion, the best musicians hands down!
Karen Briggs is just AWESOME!!
Nothing and no one could ever replace her.
Karen absolutely KILLED it! She took an amazing concert and slammed a bright orange EXCLAMATION mark on it!!!!!!! She was in the zone at 5:10! I could almost swear I saw smoke coming from those strings! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love Karen Briggs where is she now?
She is the zone
@@georgiamcknight2205 she’s still performing! I follow her on Facebook. Still as electrifying as ever!
Orange it is! She rocks the color and exudes such joy as she vibrantly plays that electric violin. When she plays she conveys all that is positive, energenic and balanced in the world as we become just as infectiously enthusiastic as she is! The drummer also. Both portray such emotional drive when they play. But there will never be another Karen Briggs. Man she is awesome!
@@estelladog1 I'm sure Karen looks great in orange, but the dress in this video is actually red! Also, this famous red dress was stolen from Karen right after this performance, by some jealous person😱. The thief didn't stop anything though, because Karen continues to give amazing performances to this day!
Man, this song never fails to make me cry and have goosebumps. The bass solo is everything. The violin solo is immaculate. And of course Yanni himself is so good and you can feel his passion on this performance. So glad my dad played this album a lot growing up.

Am I the only one to notice that at the end of the violin solo, Karren Briggs was about to burst of emotion into tears? Respect to these unique musicians and of Yanni who gathered so many gems
Incredible performance by all those artists 🖤🙏
wtf, i've been searching for this music for more than 10 years because i did not know the title... when the violin started emotions boiling inside me bursting out, i know it'll be absolute legend.
That violin 🎻 sent me into a happy frenzy!
Briggs isn’t that good
Its a legendary piece the melody is so haunting
in 1991, I heard one good song, not knowing the title until 2008 which is "Who's Holding Donna Now" (17 years). Another record was I heard a good nice song in 1981 when I was 5 y/o, which I only knew the title in 2021 which is ""At 17" by Janis Ian (40 years).
LOL 🤡
She's so Wicked on the violin, made the hairs on my arms stand up . So talented , took the breath out of me !
whatever...Briggs had no career before Yanni, and she hasn't had a career since leaving.
@@bethlarson7144 you are clearly clueless

Yanni Live at The Acropolis after 25 years should now be renamed to being Yanni and Karen Briggs Live at The Acropolis!!
Who else agrees?? Just watching this one song you should be able to tell that I am right. Karen Briggs probably never expected that this live concert would be so HUGE back when it was performed 25 years ago! But it's still great even today!! What makes it even better though is that anyone who watches her solo in this song should be able to tell how much love and joy and happiness she emits from performing! She knows she's participating in a once in a lifetime kind of performance and you can see that on her face as she does it! It's impossible not to respect and love her ability and sheer unrivaled talent with a Violin 🎻!!
One of the greatest musical performances I've ever seen and heard in my life. I grew up listening to this album, and this song was the absolute pinnacle. Simply breathtaking, and to this day it still hits so hard. Thank you to Yanni and every amazing musician who brought this to life!

Oh My God. I wonder if Yanni understands how much "we get it".....It's as if I could die while watching this and have a smile on my face. At 5:52, Miss Griggs's violin wails and withers just beyond control as she commands it back.....simply incredible.....and the bass player, my God, talk about pushing your instrument to the limit! Breathtaking percussions, bass and violin. It's been a good 5 minutes I finished watching this.. and I'm still breathing heavily. Whoa.. mad respect for the musicians and da boss YANNI
The overall performance was a "Master Class" in session starting with the percussion, followed by the bassist who was in a zone of his own, 🔥 and lastly the violinist acknowledging the bass playing "groove" just added the icing on the cake. Even after all these years I still get chill bumps 🥶.
