My apologies again Alex! I will place online order for pick up next time. I really appreciate you taking the time to pull my order with no notice and also for taking the time to share more soldering tips n tricks while i was there. Congratulations on the new place and thank you for what you do!
Amazing video, so fast! I am quite new to soldering but just moved into using a rework station and I gotta tell you.. seeing that "shift" happen when something reflows into position is a magical feeling. I can't get enough of this :) Can't wait for the next video!!!!!!!
I purchased that same model laptop that ended up having that same issue. I went back and forth with HP for several months and they tried to fix it under warranty but could not. It was the most frustrating experience ever. I eventually got a refund and moved on. Here you fix it in less than 10 minutes. Amazing!
Mine just started to give me issues today, I'm thinking it's on it's way out. Shame because I actually like the laptop for travel is simple. Had no idea it had so many issues
Great video Alex!! I just fixed this exact device. It was one of the USB-C controller IC's. One was measuring in the 1000's of Ohms while the other was in the hundreds. Change it with a new IC and we got the fix 😎
The difference between professional and amateur outlook is really interesting. I'm sure I'd spend hours trying to isolate and understand the fault which is fine if your goal is knowledge and experience. If your goal is putting food on the table, time is money so judiciously firing the parts cannon (replacing the USB controllers on an educated hunch) is the way you keep yourself afloat and go home at 6pm instead of midnight. The diagnosis process is fascinating, especially when you consider time and effort have a cost. I love the technical process, but that's not all there is to the problem. This is a great illustration of professional intuition.
The problem is just HP's quality, spectres that will not power on anymore - we replace mainboard, victus no power - sometimes fix is dead simple - ATX reset and the unit comes back to life, x360 models - touchpad stop working - momentarily no fix for it. Trust me, we are direct repair partner for HP, there some serious issues with their products.
I might take too if he has to comment, be sure to get good footage and to edit the video of several repairs in a row, so customers have to wait longer for their devices ...but there are a lot of videos to watch ;)
Another great job, Alex.. On another note, I went and got my wife the 2023 Baja Storm Rock Creek Pathfinder for her new family vehicle. She has been looking at it for a few months, and since her birthday is in a few days, I decided it was time to let her drive away in the vehicle she absolutely loves. Can you send the video link of the one where you also went to the dealership purchasing yours, if not, no big deal.
Great video as always. Might be a good idea to put a sugar grain besides the parts. Just so people can understand how small they are. A sugar grain is so big when compared to a 0201 or 01005
I can't believe how badly manufactured these chips are and how fast they gets damaged.... maybe they do that deliberately thinking that the customer will trash their laptop and buy a new one
Hi Alex you was mentioned in your video around there months ago about HOT TWEEZER. We are waiting bro. Please tell us how long more it gonna take. Thanks
When you said USB C chips will fail that made me think of the EU mandating that all phones have to use the same charger (even Apple) in the future and I would guess that will be USB C. I think we better stock up on those chips. =)
The USB-C diode was giving me 600ohms. But when i plugged power in it was giving me 19V on one side and 0V on the other side. So would that mean the diode is only bad or also the chip that it goes to?
Great video! I have a question, if you don't mind. Can smoke damage digital microscope lenses, or do I just need to clean the lens, and it will be find? So is it permanent damage? Thank you!
Some people use a Barlow lense on the microscope it expands the working distance of the microscope but decreases the magnifcation slightly. At the same time protects the objective lens aka the one closest to the work area. There are other screw on lenses that can be use to protect the objective lens but they can affect the field of view to a degree.
@@GregM Thank you! I don't have protection for the lenses. But dust will not destroy the lenses, right? You just need to clean it, and it will be good?
People asking why you use so much flux don't realize how small these components are. If the last board you've seen in person is a NES board 15yo ago with its big capacitors and chips, you're not up to date 😆
Just curious how much you would charge to do this. Anyone around where I live including myself would want at least a couple hundred bucks for such a repair, and the laptop isn't worth that. I have not developed this skill and no one else in my area has, because of such reasons.
thats what it comes down to...'worth that'.....well it is 'worth that' for some if it has very valuable data or sentimental value....there are many variables as to why someone will spend alot of money on a repair.......they might just be wealthy or they might live in a certain area or it might have been a present or they just want to repair it for fun like a hobby.....the reasons really do not matter......someone could charge $1k to repair a 10 dollar calculator and someone will always pay it

Hp are pretty bad had 2 in a row both turned into paper weights never again. Their QC is non existent.
Looks like your new shop has lots of space! Great fix!
What's up brother, here again enjoying a cut of coffee and watching your video. Have a good one.
Great work. It's nice to see you pick up where you left off in the other shop. the work goes on and on like a train. Very nice. Greets
as a technician am amazed by your skills
Great stuff. Your prior knowledge saves so much time. Guess you’ve got a lot of Asus boards piling up after the downtime of the move!
No rest for the gifted.
Good to see everything fixed 😁
🎉 1st Glad you’re back up, another great video. Love your new shop.
Why not make much longer videos showing multiple repairs? It would be interesting to see how you do things beyond just a short segment.
I might take too if he has to comment, be sure to get good footage and to edit the video of several repairs in a row, so customers have to wait longer for their devices

its not a guess, experience is talking., good job
Again a great repair from our hero 👍🎉💪

Boom boom. Wham bam thank you, ma'am. Great fix.
I have a 32" monitor. When I watch it in full screen, you look life-size.

Great video Alex!!
Looks like Big Boss has a new office now and he is enjoying his new workspace😜😂😂😂 with all due respect👍
Thank you for the video Alex, always enjoying your videos, you are the best!
10:56 Bismillah --- Brilliant Guys
Ramadan mubarek Bro
Hey Alex did you become a shoemaker too? 😂 Great work, tnx for video 😊
The first thing I do whenever I buy a new laptop is take it apart and make all the joints better than factory
Brillant shot in the dark LOL
Your the best and big boss great teaching skills love all your videos God bless you
the strength of experience👌
Great video as always.
Might be a good idea to put a sugar grain besides the parts.
Just so people can understand how small they are.
A sugar grain is so big when compared to a 0201 or 01005
Ive seen people use rice grains as comparisons to small objects
sugar is so 2022, what about a piece of crack
What brand of sugar?
@@jokers7890or a grain of salt

SHOOT IN THE DARK would be a nice title for this video :D
Great work Alex
What time is iftar for you? 6 pm you go home... do you have enough time to reach home before iftar?
Good man ..miracle worker
Thanks Alex
But Unfortunately…its hard to do by myself,So I’ll leave my Spectre as it is😭
'...a River of flux' 😂😂😂 Absolutely perfect: flux' Is your friend!!!
يعطيك العافية❤
Hi Alex you was mentioned in your video around there months ago about HOT TWEEZER. We are waiting bro. Please tell us how long more it gonna take. Thanks
Hope all the best❤
this guy is fantastic ....
Hello, i am HOBBAH PATRICE, from Ivory Coast ( Côte d'Ivoire ).
Good job mate 👍
Good job 👏❤
U forgot to say Thank u Big Boss, Boss of all Bosses :D
When you said USB C chips will fail that made me think of the EU mandating that all phones have to use the same charger (even Apple) in the future and I would guess that will be USB C. I think we better stock up on those chips. =)
Thank you, Alex. How do you perfectly align a bga chip whitout having a square edge marking on MB, like on MacBooks?
Are those used USB chips any more reliable than the CD3215 etc that one buys used and wonder if they are faulty when a Macbook issue is not fixed?
I'm just trying to figure out if I need to take it in not what to do plus I ain't got all them tools 🤦
Excellent 👍

Nice job 👍👍
The big boss said something when he pushed the power button, right?
Could I get the part number to the controllers?

you always make me laugh... I use to mix leaded and unleaded gas in a car way back in the day. lol
How much do you charge to fix a similar problem?
Yeah those laptops were not cheap at launch yet were super buggy
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Surely Big Boss would be more productive if you bought him a heater so he could take his coat off at work 🙂
You cold? Work harder !!
you need to add subtitle Turkish option
People asking why you use so much flux don't realize how small these components are.

Ellhamdulilah
Greetings to bigboss
what do BIG BOSS think of his own room does he have a yt channel
❤❤❤
BISMILLAH is constant
Great fix! Tho i'm pretty sure that nobody anywhere near where I live could do what you do and for us it would be just unfixable.
Who said bismillah in the video? Is it big boss or Alex?
Just curious how much you would charge to do this. Anyone around where I live including myself would want at least a couple hundred bucks for such a repair, and the laptop isn't worth that. I have not developed this skill and no one else in my area has, because of such reasons.

It's not what the laptop is worth, it's what your replacement amount will be. You're not getting a new laptop for 200 bucks.
HP are doing nothing about those problems that he found... why tho?
so that people like Alex fix it . that's life!
@@coolirc my theory: HP secretly making their spectre laptops quickly died to help Alex get money 🤣
I have a laptop that is unable to fixed by 6 laptop repair shops
I've replaced so many of those boards as an ex HP technician, this laptop is a piece of garbage.
Its time to add man power to cater the other items that needed to get fixed :)
big boss going bismillah when powering it on 💀
Came in for no power.
Here we have a NOT Asus Laptop
i'm going to send you a broken shoe in a video card box.
🙏👏👏👏🙏
Never buy a laptop buy a tablet instead or a desktop, every laptop manufacturer can face hardware failures, even greater if it's a gaming laptop.
