    Ice water not necessary. Crack the egg/s on the SIDE, not the top or bottom, then peel under running cold water and peel comes off in 2 halves - not in a hundred dinky little pieces. Also, that way you won't have any peel left on the egg and you don't need ice and don't need to wait 10 minutes. Not sure I want sugar in my egg salad, but the consommé is intriguing, will try it!

    Why are there so many people being dicks to this guy? He's just making a aesthetically pleasing home cooking video for how to make Japanese egg salad sandwiches, not making a statue of David for God's sake. Keep up the great work, Masuru! Ignore the trolls that come on here saying dumb shit to put you down.

    Hi! I just found your channel and I wanted to say that your video was informative and lovely to watch! I enjoyed the easy to follow instructions and the way you presented this. I know this is an older video, but please know this being the fist posted on your channel, this was an excellent start.
    I'm really sorry there were people being jerks in the comments. It was inappropriate and rude! :/ But! You've done wonderfully, and the sandwich looks super yummy. I can't wait to try this! Thank you!!

    Allow eggs to come to room temp in the water before boiling to prevent cracking. Cool eggs in same water, crush non-pointy end, and shell and rinse in the same water.

      Looks delicious and very neat. I would not add sugar and use cling wrap both not healthy. Try to clean bottom of pan used to boil eggs. If stain cannot come off replace with new pan for health reasons. Thank you.

    Too mushy for me. After peeling, chop egg yolk and white together, add mayo and a little salt and pepper, spread on bread. Enjoy the egg flavor.

    Very nice looking egg sandwich. I like the idea of mixing the mayonnaise into the egg yolks only then adding the whites. I will try this. 😊

    • @adamchurvis1
      @adamchurvis1 7 місяців тому +2

      NEVER place eggs in cold water and then bring them to a boil. Always lower eggs into a LARGE pot of rapidly-boiling water to keep the boiling going. The way the proteins in the membrane coagulate make it much harder to separate while peeling when the eggs are slowly brought up to temperature by starting them in cold water.

      The purpose of soaking boiled eggs in cold water is to cool the warm eggs and make them easier to peel.

    Is the granulated consomme (bonito soup stock?)

    • @MASURUKITCHEN
      @MASURUKITCHEN  9 місяців тому +4

      Thank you for your comment.
      Japanese consommé contains not only meat but also extracts from vegetables such as Chinese cabbage. Meat extracts include more than just beef and chicken. Therefore, just adding one to soup etc. will give it a deep flavor.
      I think you could use a bouillon cube or stock cube for the consommé.
