You know what’s strange, I have been avoiding this brand for so long because I have sensitive skin. To give you an idea, my skin burns from Cerave, breaks out in cysts with Vanicream, etc. But on a whim I tried the BHA toner and dew drops. I LOVED them! Now most of my routine is glow recipe and this is the best skin I have had in my adult life. My favorite so far is the mist, I use a few layers as a toner on my “no active” days.
See that's exactly why I feel like the best way to find out if products work for each of us is...to try them. Which is a somewhat frustrating ultimate conclusion!! But I truly believe it - everyone's skin is different. Thanks for sharing your experience ☺️
I understand your plight! First Aid Beauty ultra repair... for sensitive skin burns my skin. As does every sample of moisturizer I ever try (I’ve sampled some high end stuff). 🤷♀️ the only glow recipe I’ve tried so far is plump plump and my skin loves it.
@@nightpange33 Yes, I forgot to add FAB to that list! The eucalyptus essential oil in it caused my face to itch immediately. Finding a moisturizer is difficult. I’m enjoying Glow recipe’s banana soufflé but admittedly it will not be enough in the fall and winter for my dry skin. And oddly enough, Belif’s moisture bomb (full of terrible ingredients and every unnecessary extract under the sun) is my HG winter moisturizer. My skin is very annoying

@@Angel-ku8ci I’ve now tried most of glow recipe’s products. I still use the plum serum, pink juice moisturizer, dew drops, and occasionally the bha toner (less often now that I’ve started tretinoin). None of the avocado products worked out for me, the pineapple serum was ok, but I won’t repurchase. You’ll never know if it will work for you until you try it! Everyone is different. I highly recommend seeing a dermatologist if you can, nothing beats professional advice for people with sensitive skin like us!

I wish I could afford to try more from Glow Recipe. My first introduction was a sample of the Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum and I was so surprised at how lovely it felt on my skin. It was the first hyaluronic acid product I had tried and I was sold.

Their banana cream is my holy grail!! I have tried every high end brand, lower end, Glow recipe Banana cream is the best cream for any skin type. Absolutely incredible! It has changed my skin 100%! ♥️♥️

Even though Glow products irritate my skin, I'm here to support you. Hmmm....I've also heard hyaluronic acid be confused with hydrochloric acid. And no, I don't want hydraulic or hydrochloric acid in any of my skin care!

I really enjoyed the watermelon sleeping mask, love the glow and the scent, and just looking at it makes me very happy
I nearly didn't buy their cleansing balm due to your previous review but SO GLAD that I did. You need to work it in, then add water incrementally till it turns into a cream & more water again til it then breaks down. It's the best thing I've ever found for makeup & leaves no film compared to the Inkey oat cleansing balm.
I love glow recipe! I was hesitant to try them out at first because they seemed so hyped up. After about a month I can say this brand is one of my favorites! I'm actually seeing results. My skin has never been this smooth and glowy! The retinol and toner are a must have!!

Thanks! I actually don't do any though! (Am terrified of needles 🤪) I do think a good skincare routine and SPF go far, especially with consistency. I also believe in a health-focused diet, exercise, and I do supplement as well. Hope that helps?

It’s cute and Pretty much everything is fragrance free because I have sensitive skin and if I get irritated I get hyperpigmentation but I really want to try this brand out. I love the utilitarian usage of Paula’s Choice, the ordinary and a few cerave items
I just bought the watermelon drops the jumbo size I love it so much lol. I’m actually debating whether to get that avocado eye cream, because I’m using the watermelon drops, charlotte tillbury magic cream (my favorite moisturizer) and now I need a good eye cream. I was thinking Sunday Riley auto correct seems pretty good, and I do believe I have used it before. I also seen the charlotte tilbury eye cream, but I’m honestly debating because I love glow recipe myself. I have used the guava eye cream and it’s good!
I find it interesting that you dislike the lip balm! I have permnently flaky lips and it's the only thing that seems to help, most balms just soften the flakes for me, and I find that i'd still need to scrub more than once a day to get rid of them, but the glow recipe seems to give me enough hydration and get rid of the flakes. I guess I have a different kind of dry lip. Have you thought of reviewing La Roche Posay at all? I'd be very interested to see you pick from their range!
Hmm that's interesting. I think it's a combination of my need to keep something on my lips at all times plus an AHA sensitivity (I can use it, but I have to be cautious). But yeah, definitely shows that everyone's experience is unique - and thanks for sharing yours! LRP (along with Vichy) are brands where even I wonder how I haven't gotten around to trialing them!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole That actually makes a lot of sense, i'm very tolerant of aha's and exfoliation in general. I also made sure not to wear it in the sun, because I've burnt my lips before and now have an spf 30 balm for outside my house
Angie from hot n flashy tested the glow sleeping mask PH (and a bunch of other vit c and acid products) and its way to high to be effective as a glycolic. It's probably a good moisturizer tho. Her video ( I think there was 2) was very interesting.
Oh interesting! I also wouldn't choose it primarily as an AHA product just because as a last layer, it strikes me as a bit odd. But yeah, it's indeed a nice moisturizer
Yeah I saw that video and tested it with my pH strips and saw the same result. I’m guessing with a target audience of “young-ish” people (IMO), they probably want to make things as gentle as possible so as to avoid “I burned my face off” reviews 😬… hence the neutral pH. I still do like it as a moisturizer.
Glow recipe is having mystery boxes there on sale now, I didn't grab one I felt like the value just wasn't there on the cheaper boxes but in case anyones interested there still available

Spot on!!! I have been using glow for a year and a half! I two have dry skin! Your list was Almost exactly like mine. The only thing I have not tried is the body lotion. I think these products are amazing whether you use five or just one. I used to be a anti-fragrance snob as well so I was very hesitant when trying this product. I definitely will be staying with it! My only recommendation is if you buy it use it. It will go bad if you’re only using it periodically.
Hi Alice! Another great, informative video! I only have the watermelon sleeping mask from GR but it's so great, so lux and my skin felt SO wildly different in the sense that its incredibly soft. I'm intrigued in the avocado line after your review. Unrelated though, your hair looks super soft and shiny and silky while mine looks a mess; would you consider doing a hair care routine / product review / ranking like this in the future?
Oh thanks, I was actually upset with myself as I forgot my dry oil - so my hair went frizzy over time. Dry oils are a must for me in keeping my hair looking nice through the day!
I purchased the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops. I've used it only twice so far, but I like it already! I still have some other products to finish first, but I look forward to using it on a regular basis.
I gotta give them a lot of credit on that product: I can't think of anything that quite compares to it, and it was a product that should have existed (that case where you try something and go, "how did nobody do this before?!" lol!)
My burning question: have you (or anyone reading) re-used the Watermelon mist bottle for other liquids? I’m still working my way through my bottle but I’m 🤞🏽 that other toners will work! Edit2: Ack!! Just answered my own question. The top can’t be removed from the bottle! 😩 I can’t get enough of the watermelon scent. Takes me back to childhood and Jolly Ranchers. I enjoy the Papaya Balm for the face NOT the eyes though. even though mascara vanishes at the sight of it, it has clogged my tear ducts three times until I found out it was the reason

Ooh that’s a great question! On me, there’s a very faint glow to my skin. Not much in terms of hydration or dewiness though, so when I use it, I prefer to pair it with an oil and a good moisturizer!
I'd really like to try some of the products, but it's really expensive here. I want the banana cream just because it's banana though., but it does sound like they have nice products. Especially the eye cream, I don't buy a lot of eye cream but that sounds like a good one. 🍌

Got a sample size of the avocado retinol undereye cream and loved it! Mixed it with Versed’s Press Restart and it was fabulous. Am very sensitive to fragrance, so couldn’t handle any of the other fruit products. But enough about Glow Recipe. I want to know about Ara’s adventure!!! ❤️❤️

YES I was waiting for this!! I love this brand because all the fragrance is less than 0.5% and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, granted I don't do a full routine with just these products.. I still use a fragrance free gel cream and other steps of my routine are fragrance free.. 1) PHA/BHA Toner is soooo good I agree 2) Watermelon dew drops - omg the glow it gives my skin is amazing!! 3) I really do want to try the Watermelon body cream !!! I am probably going to buy that soon haha 4) I have a mini of the avocado recovery serum, I have been using it instead of my great barrier relief by Krave, have you ever used that? If so, does it compare in your opinion? 5) I 100% agree with the pink juice moisturizer.. my skin is a little to dry but I bought that set, so I use it as a serum under my moisturizer lol 6) I also 1000000% agree, I hate that cleansing balm! The film was so heavyyyyy and I think it did break me out... I love the farmacy MUCH better!
I haven't tried the Krave, but my guess would be that they are similar. Most of the "repair" style products emphasize ceramides to help boost barrier function, and the avocado ceramide serum does that (with extra avocado too!) Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 💕
@@britneynguyen718 umm I don’t have a steady cleanser but I always use a gel cleanser after a cleansing balm. But the Farmacy one is top notch. It just emulsifies sooo much easier and rinses away. If you have super dry skin non acne prone, maybe the glow recipe one is okay
i can understand not liking the lip balm because you put it on often and the aha in it. makes sense. i like burts bees lip balms. not the original one but some of the other ones like the ultra conditioning with kokum butter, pomegranate, and the pink grapefruit. i wish more lip balms and hand lotions had spf/sun protection in them though.
Ooo, my face can't find a moisturizer it likes for day besides the DE B Hydra. Gonna have to try it if Ara likes it! Still have the GM cleanser in my Ulta cart. I love the blueberry bounce but that doesn't stop me from trying all the things 🤣
Trust me, get the Banana cream sweetie! It will be your must have! It’s for any skin type and changes your skin to absolutely youthful, glowing, soft; just incredible!
That avocado retinol eye treatment looks good. I’ve been using Neutrogena retinol eye cream. It is good. Wondering if you have tried that one and how it compares. May have to buy that one next....

Oh we definitely exist! Acne is rooted in inflammation, which can happen with any skin type. Oily/acne prone happens to be more common, but dry and acne prone is a possibility!
I have tried a few of their products and like them for the most part. Except that pineapple vitamin c. It became gloopy and I could barely get it out of the bottle. I want to try the avocado eye mask.
The balm and the pink juice moisturizer are my favorite products, I love the retinol sleeping mask, I can't stand the toner.... I can't wear the body lotion which made me sad, the skin peeled off of my legs after using PC BHA and AHA body moisturizer for a long time so that was surprising. The niacinamide glow drops I like but don't see any actual benefits for my complexion
Elemis and Eve Lom are similar in smell: they share that intense essential oil smell (vs the fruity smell with Farmacy/Glow Recipe). The texture is different though - Eve Lom is very thick, Elemis is more creamy. As far as worth it, I'd say it all depends on what you like in a cleansing balm. Eve Lom/Elemis are a rich sense experience, but a basic fragrance free balm (ie Clinique TTDO) still get the cleansing job done!
It just got bumped down as I found a new sunscreen that kind of blew my mind...it's not out yet but I'll share it soon! Cannot believe it's purely mineral, it's that good
I bought it at Sephora which has an easy returns system BUT you gotta be quick. 30 days from purchase date. The frustrating thing about that IMO is that after shipping, you have 2-3 weeks to return. It’s not always long enough I’d say, although I’m still glad the option exists

Skincare is very personal so you might love it! And tbh I'd also say: if you are having any problems from it, try reducing the frequency of use. My theory is that it may be pretty rich in exfoliating enzymes. Some can use those ingredients often, others have to be more cautious (...me. The sensitive skin over here lol)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole thanks! My skin is so annoying I'm pregnant and I am acne prone with dry skin and it is sensitive. So if my skin is too dry I break out and if I use something too heavy I break out!! It is so hard finding a good balance!
Can I make a suggestion please 😬 as I really trust you opinion:), Skeyndor uniqcure is something I had my eyes on for a while but I am currently stuck in Bali & the shipping is a bit of a problem right now. So please 🙏🏻if high tech new concepts are something you can be intersected in, their concentrates seem to have some nice ingredients, also I assume from the info I could find they don’t have fragrance & many preservatives as they come in ampoule format. It’s like pro ampoules but for home use 😃;)
Oh interesting! I tried something similar from the brand Babor and I admit I really, really liked them. The effect was like that of a sheet mask, but quicker (and with less waste). The only catch is that it is indeed pricey - but if that doesn't bother you, ampoules are quite nice!

A fellow friend a skincare blogger as well :) have tried Babor ampoules & said the same just like a sheet mask effect, he calls it « just a wet face effect » & too expensive for just a sheet mask effect. I have just checked ingredients & they are so different, Babor does not have all these fancy ingredients we all love so much nowadays in comparison to Skeyndor, madecassoside, peptides, PHA, niacinamide etc. I have tried only calming one & of course my skin loved it, my skin adores Madecassoside anyway :)) as it’s prone to redness, I had perfect even vanilla skin tone pretty much straight after application. Also as I understand you don’t need to use them everyday, just like SOS treatment, so the price can be justified more or less. :)

A lot of people do really enjoy it! Personal preference is such a huge factor in skincare lol. So I’d say: try it out, you might like it, and if you don’t it’s always ok to return products 😃
Is there a chance you store it in your fridge? I had it on my bathroom counter while testing, and I kind of regret that. Wish I'd stored it in a cooler environment 😕

It’s cute and Pretty much everything is fragrance free because I have sensitive skin and if I get irritated I get hyperpigmentation but I really want to try this brand out. I love the utilitarian usage of Paula’s Choice, the ordinary and a few cerave items
I just bought the watermelon drops the jumbo size I love it so much lol. I’m actually debating whether to get that avocado eye cream, because I’m using the watermelon drops, charlotte tillbury magic cream (my favorite moisturizer) and now I need a good eye cream. I was thinking Sunday Riley auto correct seems pretty good, and I do believe I have used it before. I also seen the charlotte tilbury eye cream, but I’m honestly debating because I love glow recipe myself. I have used the guava eye cream and it’s good!
I find it interesting that you dislike the lip balm! I have permnently flaky lips and it's the only thing that seems to help, most balms just soften the flakes for me, and I find that i'd still need to scrub more than once a day to get rid of them, but the glow recipe seems to give me enough hydration and get rid of the flakes. I guess I have a different kind of dry lip.
Have you thought of reviewing La Roche Posay at all? I'd be very interested to see you pick from their range!
Hmm that's interesting. I think it's a combination of my need to keep something on my lips at all times plus an AHA sensitivity (I can use it, but I have to be cautious). But yeah, definitely shows that everyone's experience is unique - and thanks for sharing yours!

Angie from hot n flashy tested the glow sleeping mask PH (and a bunch of other vit c and acid products) and its way to high to be effective as a glycolic. It's probably a good moisturizer tho. Her video ( I think there was 2) was very interesting.
Oh interesting! I also wouldn't choose it primarily as an AHA product just because as a last layer, it strikes me as a bit odd. But yeah, it's indeed a nice moisturizer
Yeah I saw that video and tested it with my pH strips and saw the same result. I’m guessing with a target audience of “young-ish” people (IMO), they probably want to make things as gentle as possible so as to avoid “I burned my face off” reviews 😬… hence the neutral pH. I still do like it as a moisturizer.
Glow recipe is having mystery boxes there on sale now, I didn't grab one I felt like the value just wasn't there on the cheaper boxes but in case anyones interested there still available

Spot on!!! I have been using glow for a year and a half! I two have dry skin! Your list was Almost exactly like mine. The only thing I have not tried is the body lotion. I think these products are amazing whether you use five or just one. I used to be a anti-fragrance snob as well so I was very hesitant when trying this product. I definitely will be staying with it! My only recommendation is if you buy it use it. It will go bad if you’re only using it periodically.

Hi Alice! Another great, informative video! I only have the watermelon sleeping mask from GR but it's so great, so lux and my skin felt SO wildly different in the sense that its incredibly soft. I'm intrigued in the avocado line after your review. Unrelated though, your hair looks super soft and shiny and silky while mine looks a mess; would you consider doing a hair care routine / product review / ranking like this in the future?
Oh thanks, I was actually upset with myself as I forgot my dry oil - so my hair went frizzy over time. Dry oils are a must for me in keeping my hair looking nice through the day!
I purchased the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops. I've used it only twice so far, but I like it already! I still have some other products to finish first, but I look forward to using it on a regular basis.
I gotta give them a lot of credit on that product: I can't think of anything that quite compares to it, and it was a product that should have existed (that case where you try something and go, "how did nobody do this before?!" lol!)
My burning question: have you (or anyone reading) re-used the Watermelon mist bottle for other liquids? I’m still working my way through my bottle but I’m 🤞🏽 that other toners will work!

I enjoy the Papaya Balm for the face NOT the eyes though. even though mascara vanishes at the sight of it, it has clogged my tear ducts three times until I found out it was the reason

Ooh that’s a great question! On me, there’s a very faint glow to my skin. Not much in terms of hydration or dewiness though, so when I use it, I prefer to pair it with an oil and a good moisturizer!
I'd really like to try some of the products, but it's really expensive here. I want the banana cream just because it's banana though., but it does sound like they have nice products. Especially the eye cream, I don't buy a lot of eye cream but that sounds like a good one. 🍌

Got a sample size of the avocado retinol undereye cream and loved it! Mixed it with Versed’s Press Restart and it was fabulous.
Am very sensitive to fragrance, so couldn’t handle any of the other fruit products.

YES I was waiting for this!! I love this brand because all the fragrance is less than 0.5% and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, granted I don't do a full routine with just these products.. I still use a fragrance free gel cream and other steps of my routine are fragrance free..
1) PHA/BHA Toner is soooo good I agree
2) Watermelon dew drops - omg the glow it gives my skin is amazing!!
3) I really do want to try the Watermelon body cream !!! I am probably going to buy that soon haha
4) I have a mini of the avocado recovery serum, I have been using it instead of my great barrier relief by Krave, have you ever used that? If so, does it compare in your opinion?
5) I 100% agree with the pink juice moisturizer.. my skin is a little to dry but I bought that set, so I use it as a serum under my moisturizer lol
6) I also 1000000% agree, I hate that cleansing balm! The film was so heavyyyyy and I think it did break me out... I love the farmacy MUCH better!
I haven't tried the Krave, but my guess would be that they are similar. Most of the "repair" style products emphasize ceramides to help boost barrier function, and the avocado ceramide serum does that (with extra avocado too!)

@@britneynguyen718 umm I don’t have a steady cleanser but I always use a gel cleanser after a cleansing balm. But the Farmacy one is top notch. It just emulsifies sooo much easier and rinses away. If you have super dry skin non acne prone, maybe the glow recipe one is okay

i can understand not liking the lip balm because you put it on often and the aha in it. makes sense. i like burts bees lip balms. not the original one but some of the other ones like the ultra conditioning with kokum butter, pomegranate, and the pink grapefruit. i wish more lip balms and hand lotions had spf/sun protection in them though.

Oh we definitely exist! Acne is rooted in inflammation, which can happen with any skin type. Oily/acne prone happens to be more common, but dry and acne prone is a possibility!
I have tried a few of their products and like them for the most part. Except that pineapple vitamin c. It became gloopy and I could barely get it out of the bottle. I want to try the avocado eye mask.

You could. I’d do watermelon mask then banana as you want to keep your actives closer to your skin!
The balm and the pink juice moisturizer are my favorite products, I love the retinol sleeping mask, I can't stand the toner.... I can't wear the body lotion which made me sad, the skin peeled off of my legs after using PC BHA and AHA body moisturizer for a long time so that was surprising. The niacinamide glow drops I like but don't see any actual benefits for my complexion

Have you ever tried the Elemis cleansing balm. I believe you love the Eve Lome one but I have the Elemis one and I wonder if it’s worth it.
Elemis and Eve Lom are similar in smell: they share that intense essential oil smell (vs the fruity smell with Farmacy/Glow Recipe). The texture is different though - Eve Lom is very thick, Elemis is more creamy.
As far as worth it, I'd say it all depends on what you like in a cleansing balm. Eve Lom/Elemis are a rich sense experience, but a basic fragrance free balm (ie Clinique TTDO) still get the cleansing job done!

I bought it at Sephora which has an easy returns system BUT you gotta be quick. 30 days from purchase date. The frustrating thing about that IMO is that after shipping, you have 2-3 weeks to return. It’s not always long enough I’d say, although I’m still glad the option exists

Skincare is very personal so you might love it! And tbh I'd also say: if you are having any problems from it, try reducing the frequency of use. My theory is that it may be pretty rich in exfoliating enzymes. Some can use those ingredients often, others have to be more cautious (...me. The sensitive skin over here lol)

Can I make a suggestion please 😬 as I really trust you opinion:), Skeyndor uniqcure is something I had my eyes on for a while but I am currently stuck in Bali & the shipping is a bit of a problem right now. So please 🙏🏻if high tech new concepts are something you can be intersected in, their concentrates seem to have some nice ingredients, also I assume from the info I could find they don’t have fragrance & many preservatives as they come in ampoule format. It’s like pro ampoules but for home use 😃;)
Oh interesting! I tried something similar from the brand Babor and I admit I really, really liked them. The effect was like that of a sheet mask, but quicker (and with less waste). The only catch is that it is indeed pricey - but if that doesn't bother you, ampoules are quite nice!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Ah thank you so much for your answer. A fellow friend a skincare blogger as well :) have tried Babor ampoules & said the same just like a sheet mask effect, he calls it « just a wet face effect » & too expensive for just a sheet mask effect. I have just checked ingredients
& they are so different, Babor does not have all these fancy ingredients we all love so much nowadays in comparison to Skeyndor, madecassoside, peptides, PHA, niacinamide etc. I have tried only calming one & of course my skin loved it, my skin adores Madecassoside anyway :)) as it’s prone to redness, I had perfect even vanilla skin tone pretty much straight after application. Also as I understand you don’t need to use them everyday, just like SOS treatment, so the price can be justified more or less. :)
