      @@maydaygoingdown5602 it’s been 3 months , so you probably took a decision already , but it depends on your settings.
      My 4090 wich is many times more powerful struggles to run ms 2020 on Vr at a crisp resolution with all settings completely maxed out above 80fps
      And even if it does, my 5800X3D wich is equivalent to - Ryzen 7700X and veery slightly below an i5 13500K, wich is a great next gen processor , and it gets dpi bottlencekc at about 60 fps some times.
      It really is a hard game to run if you push it.
      However it does have quite configurable settings , if you play at a lower resolution with low terrain LOD and low texture load distances etc. you should be able to handle it fine with a 2089 and a normal CPU

    For people that start to have audio issues over ~600 Mbps, try turning off the audio from the quest 3 and get the audio from headphones connected to the PC separately instead (say with bluetooth). This worked for me, allowed me to crank the bit rate beyond 600!

      @@HamVR I got jitters again after a long play session, and i think it has something to do with the mirrored game running full screen and having the console window up in Windows 11.
      Whenever i get jitter again, the main game window pops in front of the console window and the on/off trick doesn't always work either. Now i've turned off vsync globally. But i'll test later tonight, have stuff to do, if the jitter doesn't come back i'll be playing the whole time :p
      Bit sad it's a multitude of solutions, but i feel like i'm getting there or on to something.
      Edit: it happened again with vsync off, i tried messing with the sound again, but i don't think it's the sound. When i right click on the sound icon, the Start taskbar stays open, doesn't go back to the game mirror and stops jittering. I don't know what to make of all of this, last test i'm gonna do is keep the taskbar open without the console window.

      It's not the cable, its the power adaptor. The Quest 3 ships with a 18w charger (Quest 2 charger is only 10w). You can get longer game time if you turn off WiFi and turn the screen brightness down to half and run at 72Hz or 80Hz. Otherwise, you will need higher rated adaptor or USB with PD. Thanks for this very helpful video. We were trying unsuccessfully to watch on a PC screen via link cable what the headset was showing and so the tip about oculus mirror was great. But we can’t find anyway back to start a game loaded on the meta quest 3. I just want to watch on the screen Jurassic World Aftermath as my grandson plays it on his quest 3. We tried casting to the phone but it was small and choppy. How can I watch it on the PC screen? Thanks.

      Are you trying to spectate a Quest 3 standalone game? Unfortunately there is no great way to do that. You can try Side Quest screen copy but there's a lot of steps to follow to setup. Alternatively upgrading your Wifi router to 6e and having it the same room as the Quest 3 would help with the choppyness. If your PC is plugged into the same router you can try cast to computer option as per this video

    not sure i understood right, you said that the cable with the charger was fine on quest 2 but we are talking about quest 3 here... shows as 18w over the quest 2 10w. does that means that if i use the cable with quest 3 it will melt the cable or quest 3 while using it?

    • @HamVR
      @HamVR  3 місяці тому

      I’m saying that the Quest 3 consumes more power the Quesr 2, 18w. The USB power output of most PCs is typically 15w, so you will need a USB cable that allows for additional power adaptor input to maintain charge while you use it wired to your PC. You can turn the screen brightness down and disable WiFi to extend game play time also. The USB cable that comes in box is too short to use for wired PCVR mode, but is fine for charging the Quest 3 when not in use.

    I have 2.4gb s nice. I had the 900 mbs on the wrong setting after following another tutorial. I had it on dynamic nitrate. And also had the steamVr resolution slider whacked right up instead of the oculus app resolution slider. No wonder Skyrim was all blurry. Well it may still be. Have to check. I hope not. I did get legendary tales to be sharp as a die but it kept stuttering because was airlink but probably just because my settings were not right. I sometimes find these things still stay messed up even after doing all this. So hopefully in this case it works.

      If you use a USB cable that also lets you plug in the 18w power adaptor that comes with the Quest 3 e.g. via a T junction (like Kuject or Syntech cables) that should give you several hours of play. Also if you turn the brightness down and disable WiFi it will last even longer. A typical PC USB connection alone does not output enough power unless it also has Power Delivery mode (which is rare).

      You will get about 1 to 1.5 hours on wireless with a full battery. Wired to your PC you will get longer (amount will vary) however most USB sockets max out at 15w. The charger that comes with is is 18w. If you get a link cable that let's you let's connect the charger you can maintain charge. You can also extend battery life by turning down the screen brightness and turning off WiFi.

    hi, your 2.3 gb usb3 data speed is abysmal, what's that mother board ?
    By comparison with my good old i7 and a msi mother board at 2.4 the image quality is really really poor but with my 5800x and an Asus b450 I get 2.8 or someday when it is in a good day 2.9 and it's night and day !

    • @HamVR
      @HamVR  7 місяців тому

      I'm using Asus B650 TUF (the other part of the equation is the cable). The link image quality is affected by the Encode Bitrate in Oculus Debug, so as long you can maintain stable connection at 940Mbps (1.5Gbps should be ample) it doesn't matter how much more speed you get beyond that, it wont increase the image quality more.

AMS 2 maxed, ACC maxed with Res 100% and VR pixel density 140% and gives decent amount of headroom.
