Ludwig is right. The waters actually do all taste different, people just don't notice because you have to have them side by side to taste the difference because it's kinda subtle.
I genuinely think that people just have varying degrees of taste sensitivity, so those with a higher sensitivity are the ones who claim to really be able to tell the difference. I am one, for the record, every brand tastes subtly (or not-so-subtly) different than each other.

Something interesting I learned in science class is that different temperatures of water will taste different. Typically the colder the water the better it tastes.
Which is also why the material matters; canned water will always be cooler than plastic (unless you're sat in a furnace or something). Glass will insulate the water better so if you take already cold canned and glass water out of the fridge and wait x amount of time the glass water will be cooler. But if you put them in the fridge at room temp the canned water will get cold faster. Cardboard is dog at getting cold and keeping cold so will usually be the worst material.

To be honest, there are differences in water. At least here in Germany, I don't know if it's the same in other countries. But here there is water with different minerals that make the water taste salty or like iron - the taste is intentional. And is intended to ensure that you get enough minerals. There is also a lot of carbonated water here.
To be clear, he's correct when he says to drink when you're thirsty. this whole drink a gallon of water a day is a waste of water. saying it's overrated is a wild statement though
I definitely agree with Lud that all water tastes different! We all have different taste sensitivity and a lot of it is genetic. Some people are super-tasters who can notice details that are subtle or non-existent to others, like how cilantro tastes gross and soapy to some of us! Or like how sommeliers can tell all the different notes in wine, common with coffee and chocolate too. Our sense of smell/taste can also be lowered, like when you're sick, even long-term. Fiji was the first water I tried that I actually enjoyed the taste of. Now I really want to try the Mountain Valley if I can find it!

I usually like to ensure the ph of the water is strictly 7 sometimes 8 if I am feeling a little more alkaline. Anything between 6 and below is a no-go. I take the acidity with an electronic ph meter just to be sure. You want a nice crisp balanced flavour so no Dasani! I recommend Aquafina for beginners water if you must go bottled, but honestly room temperature tap water through a filter is the way to go. Then you get all the minerals.
Now, glass shape is important, you can either go tall or you can go wide (we call them verties or horries, vertical or horizontal). I like to go with a horry, because I really want to see the water between sips; I think looking at it is half the pleasure.
I miss living in my hometown, because the tap water came straight from the nearby mountain. So clean it didn’t even need to be filtered.
"All water tastes the same"
Sips BLK: "Gross!"
Sips fiji: "its good'
Sips liquid death: "SEE THEY ALL TASTE THE SAME"
??????
i’m such a water snob
Drink any of the water after a 30 min run I bet ur balls all of them would be S tier
Connor copyright strikes you on the latest vlog
I’m dying at that chatter who said “Bravo Vivek” as Squeex was going off about water being overrated 💀
lmfao fuckers
“How I tricked my youtube chat into thinking tap water is 1000$ expensive water” 🤓
the double chat setup is actually really cool
Can’t believe Ludwig will delete the game forever(he’ll be back tomorrow)
I just watched 2 dudes rate water for the last 17 minutes. What has my life come to.
Ludwig never fails to make me spread my cheeks
squeex just made every single nephrologist happy with his hot take
Don't care.
The container's material will change your perception of how a liquid tastes. ie. Soup from a ceramic bowl taste different when consume from a disposable paper bowl.
Water is for the weak
great vid, but in the future try washing down the flavour of each sip with some water. this will clear the palette to ensure a bipartisan result.
The Food Theory Channel (from the makers of Game Theory) did a video on this exact premise a few months ago
It's interesting to see the differing opinions and philosophies
Food theory already did basically the exact same thing
Ludwig is the type of person to rank water. Also where did toilet water go? You cant drink it but without it you wont survive, straight S tier
"This is the worlds most expensive bottle of water. It costs $150 and this company sells bottles as much as $15,000"
the glass of the $150 is more expensive than the actual water
our milky son pretending like -$150 hurts him at all is so silly
4:50 you should drink before youre thirsty. If you drink when youre thirsty it means youre already dehydrated
watching this at 3am made me realise how thirsty i was
To be honest, there are differences in water. At least here in Germany, I don't know if it's the same in other countries. But here there is water with different minerals that make the water taste salty or like iron - the taste is intentional. And is intended to ensure that you get enough minerals. There is also a lot of carbonated water here.
I love squeax slowly realizing that water actually tastes different 😂
I love how Squeex finished the entire tier list before realizing different waters taste different 😂
To be clear, he's correct when he says to drink when you're thirsty. this whole drink a gallon of water a day is a waste of water. saying it's overrated is a wild statement though
When your drink taste funny and you see this staring at you from across the club @9:18
Can we all agree that Evian is the worst water
I think the issue with this test was that they didn’t a palette cleanser, needed like some water to wash out the taste
