QT was right, its about the age, brand in my experience has little to no impact. Like Cabot has as good of creamy cheddar as any bougie brand I've tried and a prepackaged brick of 2 year aged cheddar is super sharp, crystalized, and nearly identical to the expensive cuts. That being said I live in America where the dairy and food industry as a whole is a massive scam with lies and bullshit everywhere so I bet if Lud went to Italy or France and did this same experiment the higher end cheeses would make the one's he got taste like a moldy piece of cardboard
@@MAJ0ROCEL0T I worked at a high-end cheese market (one of Food and Wine Magazine top 40 food markets in the world) and Cabot is actually just that good. For a sharp American-style cheddar, it's hard to beat! Most of the expensive English cheddars are more grassy in flavor, so they're not too comparable- they're not trying to be sharp

I think that everyone had problems figuring out the cheddar because cheddar is the only cheese out of all of these that is commonly eaten in the US. So, since everyone grew up eating cheap mass produced cheddar, they ended up liking the cheap cheddar and thought it was better than it was.
This makes no sense as this was the exact argument they used about 5 times. Since they are used to the taste and they never buy expensive, they know how to relate. The thing is the expensive cheddar was described as harder and crumblier at first, but in the end QT correctly guessed by this qualities and Lud flipped the plate.
Can I input here a little? I grew up poor , and eat cheddar all the time, that being said, I love how cheap cheddar tastes, even more so than more expensive cheddar. I like to think Id get this one right because I'd know the one I liked was probably cheaper. Not sure why that didn't work with slime tho... Maybe the expensive cheddar he got didn't actually taste like crap...it's not that it's bad just usually super dry and kinda tasteless.
As someone who knows their cheddar, the best tasting cheddar is relatively inexpensive. You pay more for specialty flavours but frankly, they usually aren't as good.

The plate was so that the thing he guessed was toward him, not left or right, so when he flipped the plate it was at the bottom, so he was basically correct.
man jesus fucking christ, ive always avoided these vids thinking they were boring ass trash like tier lists, but god damn i fell in love with every one of his roommates. slime and qt were always cool ofc, but i love nick and aiden so much as well especially ludwig, this isnt to say that i dont like ludwig, or i like the videos where ludwig ISNT the center of attention, but i enjoy ludwig a loooot more when hes around everyone else i think, a lot more wholesome and down to earth and funny. they all bounce off each other really well, its just really nice to see how tight knit and actually like a family they all are.

I can tell just from the short visual that the expensive goat cheese you got is humboldt fog. Its my favorite cheese of all time but its so expensive i can only buy it like twice a year. Interesting fact, that blueish grey line in the middle is vegetable ash! Also, the sliver you got was cut way too far in advance to you buying it, you can tell by the dull tan color, as opposed to fresh cut, beautiful pure whitish cheese. I would highly advise you try it again sometime Lud!

When doing proper cheese tasting you always start with the most mild and work your way up. Starting with blue cheese completely blows out your taste buds and makes it harder to taste nuances of other milder cheeses.
Think that's the point tbh. Ludwig is moreso youtuber than cheese connoisseur.

- Chocolate - what % cocoa is it? Better title being "How bitter is this chocolate?" Whoever is off the least after all the chocolate wins. This one I think could be really good because with the really bitter chocolates, you would get funny reactions.
- Fruit - Packaged/caned vs fresh
- Cookies/Cake/Pie/really any dessert - cheap vs expensive. Or, could have QT bake things and see if the roomates can figure out the difference between hers and from a bakery.
- Wine/Liquor - Cheap vs expensive
- What country is this food from?

I was multitasking while watching this video and for the first 30 seconds I genuinely thought someone was just awkwardly standing behind lud
So I’m confused. Slime made a comment that the cheddar on his right tasted bad, and said it was fancy (declared wrong, meaning he actually liked the fancy cheese). Then at the end of the stream (not in this vid) he tries the cheap cheese and says it is good, and much better than the fancy. If both of these are true then Slime can’t taste. However, if Slime is indeed able to taste cheese, and does like the cheap one, Lud must have messed up the first plate of cheddar, meaning Slime actually went 5/5 and is the god of cheese.
Slime actually did guess cheddar right, I think. When Lud flips the plate, the sticker is on the bottom part, where the more expensive cheddar left some marks where he placed it. I think he confused the orientation of the plate when he flipped it.
