Third one is definitely my favorite. It's a perfect balance of realism and good game traffic management. I find too realistic leads to bad traffic, and too meta/unrealistic leads to my unhappiness.
I just replaced my ugly pre-made round about with option A and it's handling heavy traffic in and out of my town so much more efficiently! It looks even better with tropical foliage by MrMaison.
This has been such a game changer. I had no idea how to even tackle that highway thing and it was demoralizing. Subscribed. Will watch everything you've done. Thank you!
not gonna lie, thought that first one was gonna plug up real bad in my city, but it worked out real well. I did end up doing some lane management with traffic manager just to make it a touch more efficient, but it does pretty good. Thank's for the design man.
I know this has been around for a few months but it's still relevant. This are really nice! Totally different than anything else I've seen. I love them. Thank you!
Fortunately, for us PC players, we can just grab someone else's hard work off the workshop and drop them in, LOL, but for all vanilla & console players, this is great!
I know this video is old but thanks so much for this. The way you explained things made it easy to replicate in my own City! I made the 45degree diamond interchange, and the asymmetrical overpass one that you said would be good for industrial service! The both fit so well and I got a confidence boost from building the interchanges manually as opposed to plopping down big clunky pre-made ones that done fit well into my city! Much thanks!

@@OVERCHARGEDEGG I appreciate that brother thank you! Now it’s just trying replicate what you did in this video lol! But I definitely need to figure out the power and water thing first! I’m coming from Jurassic World Evolution 2 sooo much different!
With a little Lane Mathematics and few lane connectors from TM that first one could handle a bit of traffic. Roundabout interchanges work until they get silly busy then they are worthless. Which is your second one. The last is another one as long as it doesn't get busy it was work great and look oddly cool. But the first one with just a touch of work could be a beast.
10:15 with this one, would there be any traffic concerns with putting the ramps for the west-bound hwy on the same side, mirroring that of the east-bound hwy?
How do I do this at the very start of the game? Is it affordable in view of keeping initial road building to a minimum in order to get the city started? This example seems to be done in a city with a population of 10,000 or so.
My advice is to push the landmarks and get a shitton of money first. You can temporarily set the taxes to their highest and easily make a lot of money and turn them back to 12% to keep people happy. There's a lot that you'll end up having to change, especially given how much traffic you'll get once you setup a cargo system like with train or ships.
I found your channel just yesterday and I'm already in love with how you build and design cities. I haven't played the game for a long time, plus I'm a console player so I don't have mods to make some things easier like the traffic flow. Definitely gonna try some of this when I start a new city. 🙂
Ah thank you! Glad you're enjoying the videos. If you want Vanilla inspiration, my two cities Palaven & Noveria are both vanilla, Noveria is snow. They are much loved and very nice vanilla builds. Thank you for watching :)
The 3rd one is my favorite...small, compact and it looks nice. I don't like the 20-way intersections. As I only play the Vanilla version (Switch), this is quite helpful.
The first one with the tunnels is begging to be made into a SPUI, a single point urban interchange wherein those left turns are curved inwards to a single intersection. Wonder if it’d work in vanilla?
I just made a vanilla SPUI in my first city and it works pretty well even with industrial traffic going through it. Seems to work a bit better than a A2 parclo even though its not a fair comparison because I have a lot of private vehicles and truck traffic going through that one. I'm sure mods would make both better though.
Awesome Marina brings life to the down town also It would be amazing you build an Olympic city in Thessia with aquatic Centre, Basketball arena and high capacity real football Stadium
It has been two months so I’m sure you already have your answer, but I figured I’d answer here for anyone watching and reading later. (especially those like me playing on console with no mod options) The Park Life DLC comes with four fence designs (one from each park type). The Industries DLC comes with four more. (one from each industry type). Finally, the Airport DLC comes with one airport fence which isn’t ideal for other aesthetic uses because of signage detail on the fence, but will work if you own no other fence options. Especially in cases where you are not using fencing for detailing aesthetics, but to deconflict overlapping zoning by “canceling” the zoning from the offending street by lining it with fencing.
@@Jasonofindy yeah thank you very much, I knew the zoning trick that's why I wanted to get the fences I used paths before that, now with the sale on the playstation store I got the season pass 2 on a big discount so I have the park-life and industry dlc Still have to get into how the dlc main stuff works efficiently but I have the fences now! Also with the last free update we got the city fences.
I am just a beginnner with cities skylines 1. But this video is very good. It takes some time for the decoration but you made a flew nice examples. I have a small city (44.000 people with $ 3,5 million) but at the start I have made the roads from the highway direct to one road for entering the city. But how I have a “red point” wich made problems for the traffic at the highway. I shall start a new city and shall keep enough space for the future.
Hi, can you tell me the mod for producing Ore, Oil, farm land, and forest, its a round icon, also the mod that extends your menu show heaps of roads etc. Cheers Ramon.
Not sure the maths make sense. Before the interchange was added I assume there was 3 lanes of traffic on the highway. After the interchange is added the highway traffic is forced to merge down to 2 lanes for no good reason and then merge back into traffic joining the highway instead of the other way round. Also this turns one lane of the highway into a turning lane.
Very nice and easy designs. Thanks for sharing. One question: Can you make a ranking about which asset or zone creates the most traffic? I think that should be very interesting, because then you can judge where to place what.
Industry DLC Industry and Industry make the most by far but can be largely dealt with by use of cargo trains. High density Commercial attracts shoppers, public transport is your best friend. Regular commercial doesn’t attract too many shoppers. Offices only have people coming/going to their jobs. The most traffic generating assets will be your stadiums and public transport that accepts tourists from outside the city.
