I do have a couple questions, 1st would you recommend Marine or Pine Plywood for a garage workshop cabinets. 2nd would you recommend Baltic Birch for shop Jigs. I'm aware this video is two year old, but hope these questions do not fall upon a blind eyes.
Thank you for your questions. Pine Plywood will work for cabinets that will be in a garage and not exposed to water. Birch will make beautiful looking jigs for your shop if affordability is not a problem. Pine Ply will be much more affordable if you are looking for a budget friendly option. Let us know how the jigs go and which ones you make.

BTW, Okoumi has only just arrived in South Australia's biggest hardware store. Not as layered ply though, its more jointed boards ( not sure what that is actually called. I just made 2 small shelves with it and have concerns that might have been a silly idea. Even though its jointed it doesnt appear very stable. Also, I didn't use polyurethane, I used oil to finish it. Again, not very successful.

I am looking to build something like a japanese platform like, and wonder what kind of woods that isnt too pricey, but durable and able to support heavy weights, andddd i wonder which would absorb moisture and release as you know living in a motorhome, rots and humids and fungis is something i need to be aware of? Also, doesnt bend and behave like a young kid Oak as you mentioned ahahh! So much im asking.. thankyou if you could give me an advice, it would be so helpful. I think the humidity would be more important as to the walls of the bus, i am thinking of ply but i guess thats what everyone uses also.
Hi Sunflower, you could use marine plywood this is what most people use. Another option would be a solid wood like japanese cedar. This would be your best bet for the humidity. Good luck with the project it sounds like a lot of fun. Let me know if you have any more questions
just a thought... buses, camper, caravans are notorious for building up condensation due to poor air circulation (ie design). Do your research and be happy !!

I remember back in the maritime world we would cover the wood with thin layers of fiber glass and use marine grade waterproofing paint. I know see that all this would require more time, labour, and financial resources. In addition, the base unit for the kitchen sink with such treatment would weight way too much! Is there a letter-number designation that refers to marine (waterproofing) plywood? WBP?

I have a local packaging company that can supply unlimited quantities of 2440 x 300 Off Cut Strips at the “Right Money” I imagine base quality, but will do for my needs. I’m hoping to laminate either 2x9mm sheets, or 3x9mm 2440 strips. I have no “Press” simply working from my garage. Eventually, could I get away with PVA glue, or should I use my Fav: Gorilla Glue?

I'm in the US and we have A B C D grades for plywood. Are you just skipping A grade because it's too expensive or hard to find? Or is the plywood grading system different where you are?
I wish someone would do a session exclusively on adhesives... tapes and glues. I've just been delving into the minefield that is "luthier grade" glues.... Whoa... who knew??
@dontyrrell Buying plywood locally helps keep the cost down because of the cost to ship it, especially full sheets. Find a local cabinet shop and call them. Ask where they are sourcing their plywood from. Sometimes their supplier may not want to deal in small quantities or mess around with a few sheets. If they don't, ask the cabinet shop to sell you what your looking for. Almost any cabinet shop will regularly carry baltic birch plywood. Where you might run into a problem, baltic birch is in high demand because one of the major producer's is out of the ability to sell, Russia. Other countries like Finland and Norway are still providing supply, but not able to fill the gap. That means sourcing it might be a little tough right now, and if you are able to get any, be prepared as the prices are about 2X what they were in January of 2022.

We dont have most of what you're talking about as far as the structural integrety of the plywood.What I saw was plywood with more than five ply's. The only thing with more ply's is "Baltic Birch" or a copy of that. The only alternative is what is referred to as "pro-core" that has still only five ply's but the middle ply is a thicker MDF ply for stability.

Hi Robyn Thank you for your question, Tight grained plywood is best. So Birch plywood. It also has no voids so patterns will be cleaner and give you a better looking finish

That sounds like a fun project, Gorilla Glue would be your best bet
