Professor Gustavo Gasperin teaches one of the most devastating submissions in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a Neck Crank from the Crucifix position. - Спорт
I love his comment about how there are no rules outside of the gym.
@@DeadlySponge. I carry an Apache helicopter with me.
Bruce Lee did this in Enter the Dragon.
I thought this said legal for a second, and I was worried that you had a gross misunderstanding of the ibjjf rulebook, lol
Thanks for the information guys.
I love your techniques. your S mount armbar really was perfectly explained and extremely functional. this is not a bad neck crank though. not even close. those neck stretch ones like this or a can opener are only bad because inexperienced people try to muscle out of them and strain the back of their neck. but a proper neck crank involves turning the chin out to the side before bending the head to the chest over a fulcrum like your arm(or bending it first and then turning it etc). believe me, you can tell the difference and EVERYONE taps when its on, because you can feel your neck about to snap. like heelhooks they are powerful and dangerous and need to be treated with respect
if anyone has a training partner who wants to practice them, think about the RNC position. they tuck their chin, you use the cutting bone on your forearm to drive that chin to point over their shoulder. (you should be able to grip that shoulder with your hand). There are many ways to finish the crank from here, but I like to use the RNC grip, my hand that drove the chin across and is gripping the shoulder goes to my other bicep and that arm goes behind the head. it should look like a RNC but with your partners head turned to the side. then you use the hand behind the head (actually on its top side just above their ear would be more accurate) to drive his downward facing ear to his belly button. it normally takes me just one inch movement to get the tap. see the difference between this type of crank and the neck stretch version
This technique is also found in wrestling
Yes! And Jujitsu, Old school Judo and we all know a few more ways to apply it😎💮
neck crank in wrestling? you better be joking.
Legal in the unified rules of mma though and is something that’s hard to defend if you don’t know
Ever heard of tapping?
Nice sifu...
what do you think of this sumission for mma?? Is it harder to apply?
It's still very effective in MMA, but you probably have better options from that crucifix position, like elbows for example, ala Garry Goodridge ua-cam.com/video/_jNiNqZlDz0/v-deo.html

Gracias mi hermano.
@@MMALeech gracias mestre oss!!!
suffering past 4 days froma neck crank
Easier to hit this tech from the mount. The toll to crucifix is nice though.
Does this have a consistent name? I’ve been doing it for years and have no idea what it’s called.
Beautiful
💪
Just wow...
That looks so comfortable
Agree 100%
Would you ever use it outside of the gym?
Yes if the opportunity presents itself but it's highly unlikely to happen in a street fight against an untrained individual.
@@MMALeech Good video and true. However, there are some valid street applications for this, if you can't stay on your feet. Old Wrestling and Jujutsu / Judo applications.
@@MMALeech If the "opportunity presents itself"?? You sound like you want to disable someone! I think and hope what you meant to say was "if absolutely necessary".
Crucifix can opener
👍
Stu Hart would like a word.....
1:07 neck cracking ?
It sounded like but it wasn't the neck :)
Is this legal in Pro MMA?
It should be since "can opener" also is.
Dark arts
Well, outside of the gym I would not go for a crucifix neck crank illegal in ibjjf. I would not go to the ground at all. But thanks
I wouldn't go either, but sometimes we don't get to choose.
Uh... Wut? Turning the head in one direction is not enough. You need a face lock or something.
There is no turning of the head, it's a neck crank.
@@MMALeech Barring the fisherman's crank, which also works like a choke, every crank I've heard of turns the head. Front face lock with the grovit, for example, or anything else in Catch Wrestling.
@@SwordTune Yes there are some neck cranks where you turn the head but that's not a rule. One of the most common neck cranks when you are inside of someone's closed guard for example is the can opener, and that's a straight neck crank as well, with no turning of the head.
@@MMALeech But the neck can only rotate to its extreme one axis at a time. Forcing the neck to turn in both the z and x axis makes a much tighter crank.
@@SwordTune sure, but that's not always possible.
I don't see how anyone would tap to that
it's breaking the neck
Exactly why it’s dangerous
just force your own chin into your chest the keep pushing down. you'll separate the vetebrea in your neck
Breaks your neck spine and fkd u up
lmao. bro has no idea what a neck crank feels like.
