@@MM-Red Oh absolutely. Whether it's Judo, Sambo, Jiujitsu, Catch at the end of the day it's all wrestling of some sorts and the arts are more alike than they are different. The rule set for the individual sports really changes how the various arts are trained. For example, we know there's leg locks in Judo but since they have been barred for competition for many years, you rarely see Judo clubs teach them.
And I totally agree about not pulling guard in self defense. It's fine in sport but it's entirely too risky on the street. Chadi's videos really are great, glad to have found this channel! Good taking with you brother.

The neck Crank That Master Rickson is showing he came up with for me to fight in Shooto during my privates... when I was fighting in Japan in the beginning stages there were no face punches allowed so a lot of the guys would just hold their arms tight and not let you attack them. This neck crank came up to either get the crank or the triangle or step over armlock.

Being Judo Competitions are extremely explosive it's good that the IJF banned the more dangerous, potentially crippling, techniques from Competitions. But they should still be taught in kata, just as they are in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu. Judo clubs solely focused on IJF competition usually only teach IJF Competition friendly submissions and throws and do not teach the entire Kodokan Judo syllabus. So some Judoka cross train in Danzan Ryu, Takenouchi Ryu or Small Circle Jujitsu to learn the banned submissions, throws and atemi waza.

Catch Wrestling competion is also very explosive, yet they allowed neck cranks and no one have suffered any permanent injury from these techniques. The same thing in professional MMA. Teaching and allowing "dangerous techniques" is the best way to avoid and defend yourself from them, they're only dangerous if you don't understand them. IJF and IBJJF rules are a big joke ( The same thing can't be say for cheap tricks like eye gouge, groin grabbing....because they are not fight enders, only causing long term injury to the athletes)

@@jaketheasianguy3307 I see you're point. Interestingly enough no ones died in Judo competitions from chokes yet American Catch Wrestling banned chokes during Farmer Burn's era after someone died from a choke injury. Judo removed neck cranks but kept chokes. Catch wrestling removed chokes but kept neck cranks. Very interesting.

Banning and stopped teaching certain techniques just because they look dangerous is the biggest sins in almost every traditional martial arts. You may not use it, but knowing how it looks like and how it work would help you defend yourself from it or prevent it from happening easier. It's like no one have learned anything from when BJJ gyms was still a bunch of leg locks haters, until it's students get their legs damaged by ankle locks and heel hooks just because they don't know what these techniques look like. Thanks for another great video

I think it would be interesting: 1st to know who was musashi, for those who don't know who he is, 2nd his work, 3rd possible applications in this modern age, thank you.

Also one of the highest percentage takedown from any martial art is the neck crank takedown used in systema. Very effective. Especially when you consider wrestlers being the most dominant mma athletes in mma since its inception. They all have to lower there level for takedowns and as they do they lead with there head. Making said takedown stupid easy.....

these techniques are in use, but for changing positions, for defending from other positions, etc ... etc ...
as a finishing technique it works only on inexperienced, on beginners ... I do not mean "white belt", people who have experienced it a few times will almost never tap, but usually they will be forced to change position or let go of their own attack ...
this technique is basically suffocating people with an unstretched neck due to the lack of air ... the more a strangled person has a veeery much time to decide, probably it was banned, because there was someone who said that he would not tap, just like some do not tap a simple lever on the "tactarov" foot, but the neck did not withstand the increase in strength ... probably he also increased the strength with another attack ... in the video you try too hard to present white is white black black ...
for example, if someone pulls in the "guard" and only holds it while waiting for a mistake, in a kimono you can use kimono strangling by pressing on the neck, pushing away from the "guard", in the no-g version, bending the head to the cage is the easiest ... you can also use other smothering techniques ...
kesa-gatame, take a look at the catch wrestling version, choking attack by bending the head, by pressing the chest, additionally a slight attack on the shoulder through the elbow ...
how to properly bend someone's head towards the chest, paradoxically, you can learn best in Thai boxing, the simplest defense against stretching the head is to go towards the attacker, but if the attacker knows this defense, he knows that it is good to block the shoulders so that someone cannot get closer ...
    ------------------

Hi Chadi. Myself and some others from my Jujutsu school have taken to UA-cam in an effort to make sure that Kyushin Ryu style techniques are not lost to time. The techniques are presented in the traditional way, mainly for demonstration purposes. We have one neck lock uploaded so far, I think it’s one that you’ve talked about before in previous videos. ua-cam.com/video/6nGqClVWFIY/v-deo.html The neck locks that you mention in this video are all present in our style. Loving the content, as always keep up the good work.
