That is BRILLIANT. Love the way that "No" was pronounced so many times with a different emphasise each time. The dungeons will never be the same to me.
Eleanor your acting talent and scripting imagination never cease to enthral me. Part of me wants you to be highly successful in film & television. Eventually getting global recognition as a highly paid comedic actor. Sadly becoming far to busy to make content for this channel. But another part wants you to stay just as you are and continue making these brilliant videos for your loyal fans here on UA-cam. Is there any chance of both?
having had a Berlin Dungeon for a while now and working tourism adjacent I absolutely love your summing up of the Dungeon franchise. Just like the local Madam Tussauds it's a pretty mindless commercial attraction for those visiting the city without really knowing why. There's usually a bunch of teens on a school trip hanging around the entrance - maybe getting frightened while adolescent IS a legitimate business concept after all. Best not to tell them about some of the more serious dungeons in town...
Can't wait to go on the tour. 😎 Craig obviously loves his job as it allows him to travel all over Scotland sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for all the tourist sites, and getting a great commission from all those gift shops he pushes..🤫
Thanks for sharing Eleanor, who would have thought you could hear a reference to a cannibalistic incestuous clan, a lassie who is into crystals, drama students, and some made up shite all in one short video. It has made my day. :-)
That was a laugh riot! "Now it's that part of the tour where some drama students get uncomfortably close..."🤣 Glad to see Craig is alive and still employed!🙌
Actually, standing in a dark warehouse, listening to Craig's voice (loaded as it is with brutal facts), would be a chilling experience. Who could meet that world-weary flat look without flinching in response? On a lighter note, does the gift shop have "Witch Woman versus Cannibal Dad" card game?
It's far from Scotland but I'd love to see Craig giving a museum of Tring natural history museum. It's very interesting but it's entirely made up of victorian taxidermy, some of which is pretty ropey because they didn't know what the animals looked like alive.
Another gem! 👍 Whilst listening to Radio 4 earlier I was delighted to hear your name in the "additonal material" credits of The News Quiz. Glad the BBC are making good use of your writing talents.
@@DeathnoteBB I used to work with abuse victims, they think they were targeted because they did something wrong, that it is their fault, that there was something about them that made the abuser target them, when in reality anyone can become the victim of abuse. So when I am telling them they are not that special, I'm telling them they are just NORMAL. But to be honest, a lot more people need to be told they are not that special - the idea that we are all "unique' and "special" is a very double-edged sword, a huge percentage of the world would just like to be an unseen person in a crowd, its a burden to them to have this uniqueness thrust upon them...
Boy do I wish Craig had been my tour guide when I visited the Edinburgh Dungeon several years ago! I was with someone who was so scared to go through the dungeon, and I think Craig's stoic demeanor would have calmed them down 🤣
I want my money back. I was given to believe that in this gift shop, there was to be sold a collection of spoons that were absolutely authentic replicas of identical spoons crafted by prisoners in the 1800s. I needed these to add to my spoon collection. The fact that there are no such spoons in the gift shop combined with the sullen dismissive and contemptuous responses I got in the gift shop from the employees about my desire to acquire said spoons leads me no alternative but to notify others in the spoon community of the severe spoons shortcoming and dungeon disappointment.
Craig reminds me of the tour guide I had at the Huntsville Alabama Space Center. His name was Smiley, no joke, and he said, " Ask me anything you want to, and I'll be glad to answer." And every answer to every question was "I don't know." It was the best tour I have ever had anywhere.
CRAIG NEEDS AWARD CAUSE LEAST CREEPY TOUR GUIDE EVER The thing is the thing is the... 90% of most Tours of Old (hell of haunted creepy). Dungeons -&- such,... the Guide is Actually usually,..... Unnervingly Energetic.. Especially about the ghosts.
Well, ya know what? If I don't see Craig in the Edinburgh dungeon, I'll just ...remember I'm not that special. ...and hope he shows up in York or London
Craig is a veritable firestorm of historical passion: “Yes, of COURSE we want some bloody plastic!” Scotland, pull your head out and employ this woman to attract millions!
Love Craig; just curious, got a Scottish friend to weigh in and he says you sound pretty local (also funny). Your other accents are so good too, are you just an accent master? UPDATE: just read your About page. Scottish local, thanks, your other accents are excellent!
Honestly, Craig is your genius creation Eleanor. For me a hit every time. He is a wee, straight talking, miserable as fuck, barrel of laughs. The Full LOL. Is there any truth whatsoever in that whimpering flattery. Yes.
When I was in Edinburgh I went on a tour of the Underground City, complete with an actress guide walking us past some statue exhibits of doctors in plague masks. I'd love to hear Craig's take on that.
Craig at least has some respect for the other attractions where he works (except parliament). He usually employs a sort of wry detachment in his tour spiel but this is downright disdainful.
Sawney Bean was made up? i always thought each legend had some thruth in it. But usually Graig is right about these details, so that will be another long night of Google and Siri, thank you!
Your ebullient and effervescent energy never fails to brighten the mood on a gray and rainy day, Craig. Thank you for giving us the gift of yourself.
And thank you as well for teaching me two new words in one go :D
One of the most attractive aspects of Eleanor's videos is that they aren't just made up, they are terrifyingly accurate.
Such a good comment.
Yes, I have been expecting "Craig the youth hostel employee" for quite some time.
Unlike the Legend of Sawney Bean, apparently!
It's a shame there isn't a Museum of Existentialism in Edinburgh, Craig would totally nail that job!
What would it matter if there was?
Oooh, cosmic man.
(Apollo: Nice handle!)
(Cap: You rule.)
@@CAP198462 Oh thanks, I'm all depressed now....
@@CAP198462 I "liked" your comment, even though I question what purpose it serves to have done so.
Maybe Edinburg is an Existential Museum.
That is BRILLIANT. Love the way that "No" was pronounced so many times with a different emphasise each time. The dungeons will never be the same to me.
I think this is Craig's best tour yet. I particularly appreciate his invitation to purchase plastic in the gift shop. We could all use more plastic.
Mate I WISH it was still £15 to go to the dungeons
Still lots cheaper then what they will cost you in NYC
My dungeon tour is free but it's not what most people expect. Also you can only go once.
You can go to this girl's dungeon for even less
@@DoomShepherd one and done?
@@Joedirt3349 It's all the experience you'll EVER need. 😆

I felt as though I was there. Craig the ineffable tour guide is a magic creation and I love it. Well done Eleanor.
I was ridiculously happy about the "You're not that special." line. I'm always biting that back 😅

Craig's enthusiasm is contagious!😂

"you're jist no' that special" is Craig's raison d'etre in a nutshell.
(Note the melancholy; Craig is of course silently _yearning_ to meet that special someone.)
That was where I made a laughing noise I didn't know I knew how to make.
Craig! You bubbly, effervescent ray of sunshine, you!
CRAIG IS THE BEST
As a drama student, that "this is the only joy in their day" was painfully real
Craig is bursting with enthusiasm as per usual.
Thanks for sharing Eleanor, who would have thought you could hear a reference to a cannibalistic incestuous clan, a lassie who is into crystals, drama students, and some made up shite all in one short video. It has made my day. :-)
Just walking around in circles is the best description of the human condition I’ve seen this year ❤😆🌷
Craig's back! Happy days. I missed him while he was off during the holidays selling Christmas trees.

Nah - you're probably right. :)
Having visited the Edinburgh Dungeons I can say this is 100% accurate!
I've been to the one in York... agree!
Now Eleanor, come clean. Were you once one of those "uncomfortably close" drama students in the Dungeon?
Can we get a UA-cam live of King Charles coronation by Craig?

🤣🤣🤣 Craig, I love you!
This time she seemed genuinely pissed off by how Edinburgh Dungeon operates, and not just making a joke.
The aura of my crystal collection is totally radiating 'insulted'!
Don't ever do a ghost tour in America Ms. Morton you would be just as impressed as Great Britain ones.
If I ever make it to Edinburgh, I want Craig as my tour guide. :)

"this is the only joy in their day..." and now I shall be saying THAT for the rest of my day 😉
Crrraig coming to New York: Confirmed!
Craig has convinced me to visit Scotland!
Way too much polite enthusiasm.
I actually took this tour once, only it was in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and it was Al Capone's tunnels instead of Braveheart's dungeon.
“This is the part where some drama students get uncomfortably close and incredibly loud.” So, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival?
I’d buy a car from Craig 😂
Can we see a combo of Craig, Your Friend Who Just...?
What about Suzanne Primate trying to make an historical site interesting television while interviewing Craig?
