I’m African American and I was a little nervous about going there but I had a BLAST. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and I felt so safe. No one bothered me. No one followed me through the store. I told people how much I loved their country and they were so proud. An older gent flirted up a STORM with me. I cried on the last night because I didn’t want to leave.
aww this is so nice, Scottish people are truly welcoming.
As a American nobody is following black people around the store!!
@@raymonkravagna3226 it definitely happens. Just because it hasn’t happened to you or you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean you get to speak to everyone’s experience in the USA.
@@raymonkravagna3226you must be white to make such an ignorant comment !
So glad you had a great time here and we made you feel welcome we hope you will return and when you do always remember we will welcome you and the kettles on.
As an American who moved to Edinburgh in 1988 and then over to Glasgow around 1994 and then over to Dublin in 1998, I can say Glasgow gets much more rain than Edinburgh but Edinburgh has a cold that comes off of the North Sea. Dublin has loads of people who are drunk and partying in the streets, so Edinburgh doesn't have as many. It is true that in Scotland you can have conversations with total strangers, more so than in Dublin. I think Scots are much better at celebrating things like weddings - whole day/night events.
which one you like better?Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dublin?
Glasgow ❤
Its true Glasgow is the most Dangerous? Thanks
@@brunovescio7432 still love Glasgow the best place on the planet what a city man ♂️
@@brunovescio7432 it has a reputation but i never felt unsafe
It’s so lovely how you speak about Scotland. Truthful, kind and funny. Xx
aw thank you, it's such a beautiful wee country
I like that you said that life here is like being a main character in a romantic COMEDY because god knows the weather and the random drunk men shouting at me in the streets would not let me feel like a character in a straight up romance 😆
Hahaha definitely not Jane Austen novel to movie more like early 2000s comedy when the main character needs to go through various obstacles to find her true love haha
👍🌹👍
Omg the autumn vibes are everything!!! ♥️ Need to experience this!!
You should definitely come :)
😊🌹😊
Hi! I really love the way you tell the story, it is so much fun and you seem quite fun!! I plan to move to Scotland very soon, if all works out, and your insight is important when making decisions. I hope to continue to see your videos and what great things you can share with us. I have Scottish background and I always knew I was so friendly with anyone, I guess in comes in the blood and people are like that!!
Amazing!! I hope you will enjoy Scotland as much as I do !!
Very well done my dear. Thanks for the review !
Scotland is just great :)
Scots don't discriminate against any nationality. We just want people to be happy here. BTW, I have had wonderful times in Poland!
I love Scottish people. I’m so happy you enjoyed it
You cant speak for all Scots, Ive been with people calling blacks monkeys and others calling irish leprechaun bastards and that was within a few months of living here.
Thanks, Daria!! You content is amazing!! Love Scotland
Thank you Mari ❤️

I agree that dating in smaller Scottish towns for over 30s is hard! I say that as a Scot myself.
100% but tbh I just moved to London and let me tell you - it’s not better haha
Irn-Bru tastes like Irn-Bru 😂😂😂 as a Polish girl in her 30s who lives in Edinburgh I'm glad I'm already married because dating seems like the biggest struggle, lol. and I don't remember how I found you on Instagram but I'm also glad for that because watching this video was so much fun ✌️
I haven't been on single date in months, it's soul sucking lol. Aw thank you ! :) Let's go for a coffee or beer if you want !! :)
@@DariaKropop awww, sure! 😎

Hello, Daria. Do you have photos from Edimburg? I have a special project and I loking for photos from the city. Could you share with me? Thank you!
yeah no worries, dm on on instagram
She’s so adorably cute & when she snorts & laughs 😍🥰😍🥰 so fkn cute! 😂❤
😂
Hey Daria! Thanks for the video! I’ve been in Edinburgh for almost 3 years now and I do agree with everything you’ve said! Totally:)
I am so happy that I am not the only one who gets so excited about talking about Edinburgh and every little thing I do love about the city! :)
(Also, don’t get all the dating system in Scotland haha)!
I’m glad you agree haha I was scared that I’m being on a verge of being offensive hah.
Edinburgh is such a beautiful city❤️
Do You live in Edimburg? ❤
@@XerjoffTurath I do yes :)
@@katarzynaboro9098 That's great! I was wondering if you can share photos about the city with me? I'm collecting photos from around the world, Edimburg is gorgeous!
The food you get depends on where you go. If you go to a greasy spoon cafe, sure you'll get a lot of deep fried food, but Edinburgh has over a thousand places to eat, most of which aren't like that.
Yes but generally Scottish and British cuisine isn’t considered the healthiest.
Very interesting. I love Scotland. Lucky you
Scotland is super beautiful :)
GURLLLLL i split my sides listening to your brutally honest opinion lOLLLL yes yes yesssss especially the dating app part "or locals with a lot of past" hahahaa
Hahaha 🤣 I’m glad it’s not only me noticing it. My favourite bio is - own house, own teeth . Haha why do you have to brag about having teeth 😂
I’m between Edinburgh and Birmingham. I love the aesthetic and book culture of Edinburgh but is it easy to find work and a decent place etc? Also is it gay friendly?
I think now it's like everywhere else, kinda shit haha there is housing crisis and the fact that this is student city doesn't help. Jobs are not highly paid sadly. i would say its gay friendly but I'm not gay so can't really give you the most accurate answer
Watching this from Nova Scotia where the weather is like Scotland’s 😂 we have a saying, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes!” Because the weather changes so fast here 😂 the wind here is in every direction, very disrespectful 😂
haha same in Edinburgh, there could be 4 different seasons in the same day
We have a saying too. “Some people walk in the rain. Some people get wet”
The alcohol part for me tho 😂😅... I'm definitely visiting this country ❤
Oh yeah definitely a place to have a good time 😀
What about the prices? like foods hotel apartments
no idea about hotels, flats are becoming more and more expensive.. food - eating out around £20-30
I wanna go to Edinburgh, thinking a lot to move there but I am so frightened by rain there😢
Is it really that much bad
I think the biggest problem is that the summer is pretty much non existent the weather is always something between spring and autumn
I admit I was afraid of watching this video because in the description you said controversial views as a Scot i am proud of Scotland and like to think we welcome all who want to come here whether its for a holiday (vacation) or to study or best of all if you want to come and live here.
I agree with the rain lol yes, we get a LOT OF RAIN here year round. I love the spring and summer and the light nights and long days my favourite is spring when we see the daffodils, snowdrops and bluebells are just so beautiful. It gets light in the spring and summer VERY early about 4am and gets dark around 10.30pm. Get ready to hear a lot of bagpipes being played in the city centre of Edinburgh where i live we hear them a lot. If you ever travel here i hope we welcome you and you have a great trip to Scotland 🏴 😊
Haha this made me laugh 😂 thank you for you opinion and review! Did you find it hard to find a job or a place to live?
haha thanks :) I found both within a week of me moving but also that was in 2018 so times are different.
one day i coming scotland ✨
Scotland is waiting for you :)
I think the best solution is to discuss whether you will split the bill before seeing each other
I don’t think that ever happened in a history of dating
❤❤❤❤tnks
😃
Thank you for the point on Katsu Curry. It’s literally ‘matter’ splooged over what could be an OK dish, bland in the extreme. 😰
Eight ?! Literally no spice at all
I would like to know what has changed after Brexit. I´m from Germany and I used to live in the UK before Bexit I would LOVE to move to Scotland the whole Brexit drama makes me hesitate.
I loved just before brexit so I don’t have a lot to compare but it’s not how it used to be years ago when people were moving here for money. I can honestly make more money in Poland … which is kind of scary
I love to stay in Scotland, it's different world altogether !! 👍
Hope you will one day !
Nice area to live with in the city ?
It depends what you want really , I like Morningside
How you explain the weather sounds like the Midwest in America except we have AC.
Haha seems like it
So if my great grandparents were from Scotland they wouldnt like me saying I'm part Scottish? I'm planning a trip in November...
Oh saying part Scottish is fine I think . It’s when people who never even been here say - I’m Scottish haha. I hope you will enjoy your trip!
@@DariaKropop ok 👌 thanks I found out my great great grandmother was Scottish but was born in Yorkshire from the Nicholson Clan which is Connected to McLeod then she married a Sargent
@@Dreznik88Scottish people don’t really care about all this “clan” stuff, I wouldn’t bring it up. It’s a negative stereotype here that Americans will say things like “my great grandmother was clan Nicholson” and we all just roll our eyes. The general attitude here is that a Scottish person is someone from Scotland. Genetics and ancestry is little more than trivia. If your grandmother was born and raised in Yorkshire even she would be considered English, not Scottish.
@@seanduncan1284 but if she was of Scottish pictish decent her DNA and background would be more Scottish right wasn't Yorkshire originally Scott territory in the 1700s?
@@Dreznik88- UK people 🏴 and 🏴 do NOT care nor obsess about ancestry like 🇺🇸 and 🇨🇦 do. They don’t understand that way of looking at things - has little meaning there. All that matters is accent and where you were born and grew up. That simple.
1:21 I feel.. personally attacked.. 😆 😅 That’s why I’m watching this.
Hahaha 😝
Ah! You must be living on the East Coast, because drinking in the streets is prohibited in my city Glasgow. And a good call it was too. 👍
Yeah I think it’s just Edinburgh thing ☺️
Did you grow up in Poland?? You speak very good english🙂
Yeah :) thank you

It’s actually not that bad in my opinion

@@nancywu6536 where are you from?
So weird to hear someone say the guy should pay for the food on a date. Culture differences are confusing sometimes💀
Wait so in your culture the women pay?
@@moralay79 Partially. It's always split unless one party specifically says they will pay for it all.
Where are you from? I think everywhere it’s more customary for man to pay on first date. If he doesn’t it’s kinda a sign he doesn’t take it seriously. Even here in the UK it’s a good thing for a man to pay , they just don’t because they are not that great haha
@@DariaKropop Australia. It's seen as a bad thing when one party tries to pay for the whole thing, haha.
@@MetalxLicaxPP I just looked it up on Reddit and it’s not like that. Are you a man ?
When I was in Ireland in the 80’s, people fell down in the streets drunk which disgusted me
But the area is pretty
Scotland is wet and expensive
🤷🏿♀️
I think they still do that but I just find it funny :P
Not legal to drink in street, only inside the boundary of a bar, some of which can be outside
Not allowed to walk around City with open container of Alcohol
You can in Edinburgh
I wanna move to scotland
you should!!
@@DariaKropop Honest question, how's the job market? Is there a demand for people in media out there like there is in NYC?
How much money is expected if attending a polish wedding? You sure you aren’t related to Asians 😂. In our weddings things are changing but the main gift expected is gold jewellery for the bride . 22c yellow gold pieces . And cash gifts are appreciated also , but to be Honest some elders often cheekily take them. So better to give gold instead .
However if you’re not very close to the family you don’t have to give gold or cash. You can buy something for the house or anything you like and wrap it. However some ppl are becoming greedy now. They have small weddings and state no boxed gifts? Well what if ppl can’t afford an expensive gift? For me I’d love everyone to attend my children’s wedding for example and eat and leave their blessings , no gifts required . Buy a gift if you really wish to, no obligation ;)
o wow that is intense.
I actually haven't been to a polish in two years so I'm not sure how much people are giving now but I think its a lot. ore than for example in teh UK i was super shocked how little people give here
I live in aberdeen... its a just a quiet boring small city... not a place for those young at heart... asides that, scots are nice people and so far have not been discriminated based on color.... they dont care where you from, they speak to you and they love their beer...Also, aberdeen is very safe...
I love Aberdeen it’s super cute!! And you are very right about Scots
I married a British man and he has the side swept bangs and skinny jeans 🤣
Oh bless you 😂
Why do modern women expect a guy to pay for a date?! I thought they wanted equality? If a guy asks another guy to hang out he doesn't pay for him just because he invited him.... isn't that equality?
First of all there is no equality still… we are still getting paid less and life costs more . Secondly it’s not about the money is about trying to impress someone. I can buy my own drink and food it’s not about that but if I wanted to impress someone I would buy them a drink. It just shows the guys doesn’t care to much becasue if he did he would pay that £6 it’s not that much….
Main character in romantic comedy lol
Me ? Always 😂
23 years in Edinburgh and I could not agree more
I’m glad you have the same opinion!!:)
i'm in London for health care service,
I'm not British citizen may i move in Scotland and can get asylum??
sorry I'm not an immigration lawyer
Women can blame themselves for having to pay half on a date, They wanted equality and now they've got it.
😂
We're happy we do. We have twice or more dating options than you anyway
@@MrSandman_0981 I'm married so don't need to date anyone I'm old fashioned that way.
Women want to do what they like with no accountability. Funny how with feminism families fall apart.
Feminism is the great lie and Women have fell for it hook line and sinker. Now you have to work 40 hours a week and retire 6 years later and Now there's talk of bringing in conscription you can look forward to being called up too along with the people with penis's eh.
Hello , I want to move in Scotland from England. Can you find me an accommodation and job please ?
Yeah sure , should I also pay for your move ? Haha
@@DariaKropop 😂😂😂😂
Sounds more like you're slagging us off plus you're only talking about the East Coast totally different from the West and North etc plus it's illegal to drink in the street just so you know, the only place that deep-fries everything is fish and chip shops get your facts right !
The title says my opinion ✌️😀
is this video about Scotland or Poland?
I think I can only compare it to other countries I know... obviously....

Thank you ! You are so nice
Everyone is welcome in Scotland,
except Americans
That’s not true , I have American friends in Edinburgh:)
@@DariaKropop I think my comment went over your head!
@@KF-cx8bm what do you mean then ?
My son and I visited Scotland last year and we thought it was such a beautiful country. I don't understand why the people from Scotland find it strange that Americans are interested in their ancestry. America is a country of mutts (and I mean that in the most loving way) we came from all over the world. We are generations removed now from our ancestors who braved crossing an ocean to come here and just want to know where our forefathers came from and the kind of lives they lived. We certainly don't want to offend anyone by saying that our family is originally from Scotland. If you live in Europe you already know your ancestral history so that is not something you want to know.
@@elizabethhenry7373 I’m glad you liked it. I think it’s about people who say I’m Scottish because they great great great grandma was Scottish. It doesn’t work that way. We don’t saying like that in Europe. We are all mixed and have ancestors from different countries.
So your not Scottish if your ancestors left while being whole sale slaughtered and enslaved by the English. Got yah.
You have Scottish ancestors then :)
"wholesale slaughtered" everything is money with you lot isn't it 😅
Just be glad they got the hell out of there.
