Buck great work! I got into leather working a couple months ago and it’s truly rewarding. I’m 71 and my grandchildren always thought I could fix anything. Now I’ve been making Body Purses for my granddaughters and belts for my grandsons. The smiles on their faces is all the gratitude I need. Richard
Here’s why you are one of the best....you keep no secrets, and you provide resources for other leather works so that we can achieve quality work also..,. That’s what a true artist and part of a community means. Thanks for sharing your links and resources
You are too man. My wife and I have been making masks now for about 8 years and your videos where very instrumental in our learning. We watched your videos quite a few times while we learned, now it is a part time gig for us. So thank you very much for that!
Helllo tysm i love that you incorporate your family in your videos. i am a woman that has limited amounts of money since my husband died. wish i could buy the patterns for your items. i will try my best to make my own. just started leather working. so i am using scraps of what weaver sent to me free. i have made little name tags with the tooling. my boyfriend said they are great but not like a pro. i will get the hang of it. i have watched all your videos and enjoy the energy you put in them. makes me want to see it over and over to get the matrix of knowledge. ty for taking time and showing us step by step. trying to get out of caregiving which i have done forever, to get a business of leather. dont know what area of leather i am going to do..probably small things first and get the tooling down. but with the videos you supply i am sure in some months i will get it down. i was a graphic designer, now i am going to put that into tooling. well if you can help me find a place for veg tan sales for cheaper would be great. but i dont know if you answer these comments. ha. have a great day and keep the energy and positive imput going. you are doing great.
Broooooooo, that barge bottle tip is gold. Thank you so much. Ironically just this morning I dumped my can of barge into a large mouth airtight container to try something different. I hate the stock bottle/brush setup and the weaver tub isn't much better. I was racking my brain on what I could do because I was tired of going through brushes and getting glue everywhere. This bottle ID is absolute genius. Thanks, Stock!
I subscribed while back. Been awhile since I been on UA-cam. Found this vid. Really enjoyed it. I still fairly new, but i do enjoy making things by hand, and like old traditional leather goods. Thanks
I ordered the No. 68 'Buck Brown' Western vertical wallet on Friday or Saturday and just arrived today in less then a week, though I am two states over. I have to say watching you make your product is amazing. Having the wallet and getting it in hand to see up close and feel the craftsmanship, quality, and detail that goes into the wallet is out of this world. I am hands down in love with my new wallet, thank you. If anyone is hesitant in buying stock and barrel whether its a wallet or bag, don't be hesitant just buy it. You will not be disappointed in your purchase from Stock and Barrel. Everything you could ever want is in these leather goods. Thank you again for the wallet and making awesome videos. Please continue doing what you do in your videos and leather work.
Your honesty is much appreciated in regards to stating what steps you outsource. There's so many leather businesses (or other craft trades) that are not honest or outright deceive people into thinking they are solely responsible for every step in producing hundreds or more of handmade items a month (just as a rough an example). Honesty like that from Stock and Barrel Co is of such importance, it gives other leather crafters a more realistic outlook when we aspire to other businesses and what we are individually capable of with just our own hands or if we aspire to outsource some steps to rise in production, as there is a limit to what one person can physically make themselves.
Dude! I had a shoe shop for 9 yrs. All I used was Barge CONTACT CEMENT. I glued up 23 pairs of heel and half soles before 10:00 a.m. and had to take a walk around the block for half an hour. Contact cement is not rubber cement! love your work. stole something even on this one. You ‘re so much fun!
This what we call a leather arts...and you have shown from a to z how you make a very beautiful and artistic wallets...thanks for sharing this video....
Very cool. Found you initially because you reviewed a Sailrite Sewing Machine. I just bought the stationary, industrial, black Fabricator they offer. For upholstery. Thanks. You are cool!!
Dude love you channel found you today, man I can say you have some energy, I'm 48 and wish I had that energy, you seem like a cool guy, and you have an awesome family, glad to see that there are true American Craftsmen still happening, most of the guys I see are my age and older. We love the channel
Just ordered my template through your store. I love this design. I would rather have your work however I'm gonna have to use some vegtan from hobby lobby and give it a try.
Very good craftsmanship and style. Love all the work you are doing. Thank you so much for sharing how you do things. Love your work, love your videos and most of all love the fact you are a family man first and include them. Best wishes and keep em coming my friend!
Stock & Barrel Co I am a leather crafter from the Caribbean island of Barbados your style is wonderful not to mention that lovely lady your married to! My style is different I prefer hand sewing some of my items but because of you guys I'm going to invest in a sewing machine thanks for your videos Michael Harris incognito leather craft Barbados
Buddy, thanks for sharing your wisdom, knowledge and tricks of the trade. Very inspirational for me and i love how you keep your videos fresh and interesting. No nonsense stuff.
Hey man! Love the videos and tutorials. I’ve been doing leather work for a bit now and I’m still learning so much. I really appreciate the info you provide in your vid’s.
I love your attitude. You're such a positive person. Definitely subscribing. I haven't started leather working yet, but gonna order some tools and want to do your 52 wallet. Looks like and good place to start for making a wallet for a beginner like me.
Hey dude, just found your channel! I love the content! Not only that, you're confident enough to show the process and materials you use. I was looking at buying a vertical leather wallet and was going to go with a mainstream brand but now, watching all this. I'm definitely picking up a Stock & Barrel Co wallet! Keep up the great work and content!
Hello I've been a professional driver for 27 years. And a volunteer firefighter/medic. I've been looking for a change. Your skill set is truly remarkable. Something I'd love to learn. You are truly an artist my friend.
I will keep it in my front pocket not in the back. I use to carry one just under and below my arm pit but I can't f8nd it anymore. Thanks for the video. I'll keep watching....
From a technical standpoint, you produce some of the best vids that I've seen on UA-cam. Well I got to tell you, that one of the things that I really like about this vid, and I'm not sure about others so if you don't you should include this in your other vids too, is your little short shots of your family. There's just nothing more important than your family, and the way you show these little short shots of them really indicates how much you love them and how much you value them. Thanks for doing that.
Love your work and passion for it. I have the same love and passion for leather as you and I plan on making a living out of it just as you are doing. Problem is in have no idea where to start lol
Hey man, I love your leather working videos. I'm just getting started in the hobby. And have probably learned more from your videos than anyone else on UA-cam. I also appreciate when you let us know about good suppliers (district leather supply is awesome). I was wondering if you ever tried double sided tape instead of the rubber cement? I seem to get the cement all over everything and things get messy fast... They make special tape that's super thin and ultra narrow. It came to mind when you were scrubbing the cement "squeeze out" off the edge. I was thinking of giving it a try, and was wondering if you had ever tried it. And if so, why do you prefer the cement? Thanks for all your leather videos!
Do not use tape. rubber leather cement is best. plus it also works a a leather sealer. you're gonna just have to keep practicing your glue skills my friend. :) try using a very small paint brush and less is more. also remember to let the glue almost completely dry before sticking the pieces together. best of luck!
Thank you for motivating words. Thanks to you. I been making me some wallets for the friends and family. To sharp my skills a little bit. Thanks our you are the best
My wallet is about a year old and if I look at it wrong cards go flying everywhere. For the price....what $68....wow! It looks like daddy is going to get a real wallet this year....subscribed.
What a concept using a squeeze bottle!! I love it! My glue always gets stringy. And I found a better glue than Barge. It 's called Renia from German Company.
I've been gathering supplies to work with veg tanned leather, notably a cylinder shaped fork bag for our Dyna Wide Glide. I bought a black leather back rest bag from Harley-Davidson some years ago and it was made out of heavy leather. It had somewhat of a matte finish but felt and looked fairly heavily waxed. Do you know what they would have used for a top coat for this? I'm trying to figure out what to use on the bags that I'm making for it....
When using a new bottle of barge or any glue it may be runny so a trick I found helps is leave it open for a while so it can thicken just not too long or it will harden about 5 hours should work just keep checking on it
I have to admit its a vey nice and clean looking wallet considering you aren't beveling any of the edges or using tokonole! I'm always beveling most all edges including the small pockets.
Hi , you are one of the best ,,,, I get a question and hope that you can help me in this ,,, my question is ,, what do you think about the tippmann boss leather machine ,,,is it useful or not ? Thanks in advance appreciate your answer
Thank you! I've never used one before but i imagine it would be good for small projects. I wouldn't want to sew an entire bag on it but it would probably be a good place to start!
Stock & Barrel Co ,,, thanks for your fast reply ,,, i already get the tippmann machine from about a month ago ,,,my brother lives in USA and I ask him to buy the machine ,,, I started my project from 9/2017 ,,, it was totally handmade stitches as using the punch and fork ,,, but I am trying to be fast to gain more ,,, that's the point ,,, for that I get the tippmann,,, any way it was nice sending you ,,, by the way you get a great family,,,, thanks ,,, take care ,,,your brother sameh from Egypt
sameh elazmerly i agree completely. Tippmann is the first machine you should buy. Very handy and the portability for gun shows and places where there is no electricity is a plus as well. As the author mentioned, it would be hard to do a bag or even long belts with the Tippmann but it is doable. I love mine.
I've thought about it before but it would be too thick. The 68 westerns and the 55 bill folds both have 4 layers of leather and any more would get way too bulky. But I may try it with some lighter leather in the future and see if it works out
I enjoy all iof your videos i just spend a few days in Mexico and visit a Leather Company got some supplys im so exited and ready to make a few wallets and belts. Keep up the good work. Thank you
It's cool to watch this process as its something I've never watched before. However this wallet looks cheap to me in the sense that I can see the stitching from the outside on the inside in the center.
Just ordered this in the chestnut. Thank you so much for making a great product by American hands. Looking so forward to years of enjoyment. As a Mormon I like to buy quality goods that will last a lifetime. Congratulations on your success
I love your videos. They’re informative and fun to watch. I’ve been trying to make a trifold wallet and a card holder from start to finish, without relying on somebody else’s patterns or templates. I want the finished product to be about 3.5 in closed but I can’t seem to get the total unfolded length right when cutting the outside panels. I’ve made a pattern on illustrator and made two prototypes out of upholstery vinyl before buying a piece of leather. Always too short or too long. Any pointers?

what's so cool about this channel is that, while I may not like the style of the product in particular, I love watching the how to process!
Thank you Stock & Barrel Co Leathercraft
Good on ya, mate. From Louisiana. I like your designs and steal from you quite often. Thanks for your passion.

You have a new fan from the UK, and a new order for one of these dopeass wallets! Thank you brother
Good job
Would you ever consider making an AirPod leather case?

I have this one, I wonder if you can make number 55 bifold a western style too, I need that wallet!!!

If you want to try to make it and see how it comes out, I’ll buy it, I’m in love with #68 and your work is outstanding!
So do you have to fold up your money to put it in the wallet?
Another great video. Any specific reason for using clicker press instead of laser cutter?
cleaner cuts and laser burns leather.
Do you have a link to the skiver machine that you showed in this video please?
Beautiful family bro.. Nice work 👍
Very good
hey im from indonesia, your works are amazing. i wonder how thick the leather you usually use? (in mm) your answer will be much appreciated, thanks.
Hello from Egypt 😃
I love your tutorials 😃
i have just gotten into leather making and i find your channel very helpful. thank you for all your tips. =)
Do you have a video of you doing this with hand tools? Great vid!
check out Corter Leather on UA-cam. Everything is hand cut and sewn.
I enjoy all iof your videos i just spend a few days in Mexico and visit a Leather Company got some supplys im so exited and ready to make a few wallets and belts.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you
Thank you Art!
Do you always get your leather already tanned the color you want
It's cool to watch this process as its something I've never watched before. However this wallet looks cheap to me in the sense that I can see the stitching from the outside on the inside in the center.
you're supposed to see the stitching on these type of leather wallets. it's not cheap at all.
What weight leather are you using and what grit sandpaper to you recommend for finishing the edges before burnishing?
What were you using to get the adhesive off the edges? Just sand paper?
Just ordered this in the chestnut. Thank you so much for making a great product by American hands. Looking so forward to years of enjoyment. As a Mormon I like to buy quality goods that will last a lifetime. Congratulations on your success
Nice work BRO
I am completely new to leather working. What is the best ounce of leather for wallets?
I usually start with 3-4oz
Thank you.
I love watching people having fun doing something. I presume that is your hobby?
I love your videos. They’re informative and fun to watch. I’ve been trying to make a trifold wallet and a card holder from start to finish, without relying on somebody else’s patterns or templates. I want the finished product to be about 3.5 in closed but I can’t seem to get the total unfolded length right when cutting the outside panels. I’ve made a pattern on illustrator and made two prototypes out of upholstery vinyl before buying a piece of leather. Always too short or too long. Any pointers?
Just wondering if you have ever tried HERMANN OAK LEATHER ?
Love your work mate!
Thanks Reza!
hi ,i love your video, do you also sell leather to China customers?I want good quality leather
