swap the money and card sides so you're not smashing the back of your cards with the snap.

I like the rough out look . And as it wears going in and out of your pocket it will get smoother. And your correct the roughness of the wallet clings to the fabric of your pants. Good video thanks for sharing.

Nice job. Thanks for putting your whole process out there. I'm just getting started and loved seeing that. I love the leather how-to videos. Keep them coming. Also you can't go wrong with any minimalistic wallet design. The days of over-inflated bricks in our pockets as a wallet are over.

Thanks for doing this. You and your videos inspired me to make my own wallet. I glued my paper pattern to cerial box cardboard. I do need to remake it because the stitching didn't turn out as good as I'd like and the card pockets where just a bit to small. But in the end, I learned from my mistakes. Thanks guys, keep up the good work..

Great to find a fellow creative southpaw. Awesome wallet you put together. Rough out looks great. As a minimalist, the only change I would think of trying would be deleting the snap and it’s tab. Looking forward to checking out more of your videos.

Love the channel, the wallet looks fantastic. I am not a fan of rough out either, but that looks really sharp! I like the button tounge(?) shape. I have been dabbling in leather working for about a year now. I have made a handful of minimalist wallets, some magazine holsters, and just the other day a rifle butt cuff with round holder. So far everything is for family and friends, I am impressed by your work ethic and your ability to make our hobby/craft work for you and your family. You are an insperation.

Angle the button flap like you typically do your card pockets. It will make it easier to finish and will carry a theme across both designs.

The rough outside looks really good with the finished interior. The only thing I’d say is to reduce the depth of the inner carder holder or the hidden pocket so the cards are easier to grab when you get 2-3 cards in it

I think if you bring that button a bit lower off the edge and a bit closer to the center, it will secure the wallet better. Another neat thing, you can cut the inner-right side of the pocket (for the cash) diagonally so that grabbing and taking the bills out gets easier.
Nice work. I watch your videos all the time.

  • @Daniel-bt7be
    @Daniel-bt7be 5 років тому

Awesome idea!! I love the snap and the minimal pockets. I’d be careful making the snap piece any bigger or further across though because you might creep into pocket book territory which obviously isn’t the look you’re going for here. I could see making it longer so it might be less awkward to sit on? But over all, I’d totally buy it even as is 😊

I would only use one layer of leather for the snap to keep it thinner. Also. I did like the idea of having flesh side out. It would make it harder for a pick pocket. Thanks for sharing your process!

I like your idea of the snap flap being a little larger and a better curve on it. I also like that the cash gets folded. I like a big/small wallet - if that makes any sense. I want it to fit into my purse but not take it over, lol! For a more girly wallet like this I would make a wavy pattern from the snap keeping the snap dominant over the wavyness. Thanks for sharing, your creativeness is amazing. One day I will get some of the tools required to do this type of craft. Can you make videos for beginners with no 'real' leathercraft tools?

  • @glorifying_obesity

I agree it will be easier to burnish the edges of the flap if it's a more gradual slope, though that might have some structural drawbacks (added bulk through the length of the wallet). Great design though and excited to see what changes you make before production!

I think you have some additional wiggle room to make the wallet lower in height maybe 3-5 mm and consider a version without the snap, too. Maybe that one (snapless) could be thinner leather to give it more minimalist and flexible for pockets?! 👍 Great work, products and videos btw. Love your channel mate.

A longer flap might keep it from catching on pockets, etc. A shallower curve helps on burnishing so it’s more of a positive aesthetic than function. The size overall is good. I don’t prefer roughout but that’s not strong so make some for those who do. Good video and thanks.

I’m not a fan of folding my cash, but I like this design. I would change these things for my taste:
    1. I would want more of the top parts of the cash showing for easier access, although the loose flap partially accomplishes this.
    2. With a little thinner leather I would like the snap flap eliminated for easier access, a thinner overall design and and a smoother presentation.
