Hey Bandit, I'm still a bit confused on why this is better then tera elec shedinja + air balloon, it seems as if they still die to the same counters, yeah heavy duty boots are important, but can't you just defog?
Air Balloon Shedinja has trouble playing against Rocks plus phasing. A clever opponent will remove a couple of Shedinja's allies if possible to increase the odds of Shedinja being pulled out by Roar or Whirlwind. Then they set Rocks late game and click Roar or Whirl as the Defogger switches in, fishing for Shedinja. Other than the rocks + phasing weakness, Balloon Shedinja requires an additional Defogger such as Comfey, Weezing-G, or Arceus instead of Tyranitar, which inevitably weakens your Calyrex-Shadow matchup.
It's such a shame that i watched this video to see what it's like using Shedinja in Gen 9 and try out some strategies, (Because it's my favourite pokémon.) just for the people in the top ladder in National Dex & Admins to remove the gamemode from being public and make it challenge only. :( Good video though it's very informative.
i also went for top 1 in nat ag gen 9 with this last month with this lienup : shed electric, mega medi, arceus water,oh ho, flutter mane, and ofc cyclizar
How to counter this Strat: when you see the cyclizar use a fire dark rock ghost or flying move so air balloon pops immediately and you can hit ground moves now!
You forgot something: Any Pokémon who can learn Rock Blast, or any Pokémon who has Mold breaker. If a Pokémon uses Rock Blast turn one, it can kill if it hits twice.
@@tsawy6 Wonder guard prevents contact defensively (all attacks into an immunity do not make contact) Wonder guard doesn't prevent contact offensively, but the set is chosen to not have any contact moves to avoid losing to rocky helmet. Edit to add: the line that covers this is under "contact" in Bulbapedia. "If a Pokémon is immune to a move, the move will not make contact with the Pokémon."
@@EloBandit right, but you can compress team slots that way, still having access to pursuit trapping while being able to actually hurt cats by switching indefinitely
Battles would be freaking insane if Game Freak actually made it possible to use every mechanic in one battle. One Tera One Mega One Z Move One Dyna/Giga The possibilities of team building would be endless.
Megas not being able to tera is less a balancing thing and more just based on the fact that Mega Rayquaza can't use Z-Moves, so it can be assumed that gimmicks couldn't overlap if they all existed in the same game.

It's such a shame that i watched this video to see what it's like using Shedinja in Gen 9 and try out some strategies, (Because it's my favourite pokémon.) just for the people in the top ladder in National Dex & Admins to remove the gamemode from being public and make it challenge only. :( Good video though it's very informative.
well this tier seems terrifying
what an intro
Now I know why Shedinja is not going to be in SV.
i also went for top 1 in nat ag gen 9 with this last month with this lienup : shed electric, mega medi, arceus water,oh ho, flutter mane, and ofc cyclizar
imo my team was better at killing the weather setters
Normal tera Shedinja is hilarious. I love putting cyclizar on the same team just to make people think it's going to be the generic set.
Why Shedinja, A Pokemon Dissertation by Elo Bandit
How to counter this Strat: when you see the cyclizar use a fire dark rock ghost or flying move so air balloon pops immediately and you can hit ground moves now!
The cyclizar is most likely scarf and max speed so you won’t outspeed so just kill the shedninja with its weaknesses
Talonflame easily counters this for gale wing priority
Because u can kill the shedninja and then just use a status move
And hazards like sandstorm should work
Elo bandit my beloved
You forgot something:
Any Pokémon who can learn Rock Blast, or any Pokémon who has Mold breaker.
If a Pokémon uses Rock Blast turn one, it can kill if it hits twice.
have you watched the entire video?
He lists mold breaker users as potential checks to shedinja
@@mangosteak Whoops, I must’ve zoned out midway through the video, thanks for telling me, though.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is why nincada was cut from SV
I think it is safe to say that shedinja wont return in gen 9 as dlc.
Elo what is your opinion on Natdex AG no longer having a ladder?
Have you considered using zoroark posing as shedninja with this for added psychic damage to your opponents?
love the trubbish set.
how does he wear boots
I wonder if Tera normal shedinja with trick or treat gourgeist is viable (in doubles)
Tera was clearly not made with Shedinja in mind
PS: AG is hell lol
wanted to add mold breaker doesn't infact ignore wonder guard, but Teravolt turboblaze aka legends abilities do pokemon supports racism confirmed kek
Mold Breaker does still ignore wonder guard.
I really dont see what this team is supposed to do against a singular ttar that knows taunt
Isnt ash greninja unavalible in nationa dex ag gen 9.
Battle bond was changed so you cant get it anymore.
No more AshGren, just +1 all stats Battle Bond Greninja
@@EloBandit so its not nat dex ag cuz 1 mon isnt useble anymore.
Couldn't Oinkologne also break this strategy with its ability?
No, you have to make contact for lingering aroma to trigger
@@user-iz2ik3gh2n are you sure wonderguard prevents contact? It's not cited on the wiki
@@user-iz2ik3gh2n good to know
Ok but why is the music so low quality in the battles lol
To beat cats could you just use rocks on ttar over thunder wave? I could be wrong but that was just my first thought
Rocks don't put on quite enough pressure compared to three layers of spikes
@@EloBandit right, but you can compress team slots that way, still having access to pursuit trapping while being able to actually hurt cats by switching indefinitely
Wait why Trubbish over Garbodor though
Garbodor loses Sticky Hold and gains Weak Armor. Need Sticky Hold to prevent Trick.
@@EloBandit ahh gotcha
Are hail and snow both seperate in ND?
Yes. The move Hail summons hail, everything else calls down snow.
Battles would be freaking insane if Game Freak actually made it possible to use every mechanic in one battle.
One Tera
One Mega
One Z Move
One Dyna/Giga
The possibilities of team building would be endless.
Tera z giga mega rectal destruction
how do you play on national dex AG?
Perishing song: pathetic
Does wonder guard ignore Roar?
Nope, phasing moves are great vs Shedinja.
How do you access national dex AG shedinja is illegal there
Nothing is illegal in Anything Goes! Shedinja is banned from Ubers, though.
Pokemon Showdown allows you to create a new gen 9 national dex ag team.
Ultra Necrozma and Haxourus:L
Haxorus is mostly outclassed by Kyurem Black, but they all get trapped by Gothitelle.
Sandstorm?
31:46
People really scared to run tar
Also is it really hail not snow in ND?
@@DkKobaADV its both. Snow warning is snow, Hail is hail.
tar shot? why?
@@Pao-vo8mf tar kills non tera ground shedinja on switch in
I'm surprised shedinja wasn't banned on release lol
Its ag
@@vvvvvv66666 fair point, although they evidently don't allow megas to terra even in ag and that's way less broken than terra shedinja
Megas not being able to tera is less a balancing thing and more just based on the fact that Mega Rayquaza can't use Z-Moves, so it can be assumed that gimmicks couldn't overlap if they all existed in the same game.
@@hacatu why would they allow megas to tera it already megad
I think it might've been banned from Natdex OU although don't quote me on that
They removed nat dex ag because of this lmfao
Do you have friends
:(
Photon geyser
Watch the full video.
He explains the checks to shedinja in the end.
+his entire team is built around removing necrozma, solgaleo, lunala and the likes
Why does everyone say “turr-RAST-allize” instead of “tera-stallize”?
American accent.
U mean ter ass talize
@@Benjy52 no, I’m American too, I mean they’re moving the emphasis to the second syllable instead of keeping it on the first
People so often forget that any form of passive damage takes out Shedinja instantly since it only has 1 HP.
yea thats why they use cyclizar
Did you watch the video??
@@othamneil8958 Ah, the substitute. I didn't think about that. But it's still not perfect. It still needs help and careful play.
@@JanusHoW It's not really meant to be a perfect team. It has flaws. That's true of every team. Careful play is the whole point of competitive pokemon battling
I hate this so much
i want this shit gone from AG because its so absolutely fucking annoying and requires no thinking while needing so many specific pokemon
too bad there are no rules in ANYTHING GOES.
maybe play a diffrent tier
"No thinking". My dude, you are watching a 30 minute explanation about it
Don't play AG if you don't want to play against cheese strategies, it's kind of in the nature of the tier
Totally original
It's not about using Shedinja first, its about using Shedinja well.
@@EloBandit that's a nice consolation!
Frist
Don't be teaching people how to beat revive cats. They just need to get good that's all
Isn't learning/researching how to beat them... how you "get good"?
@@athath2010 people should figure it out for themselves if they are smart enough
@@PreciousLuna1988 Why figure it out if the info is already available, the heck?
@@blobfish1649 why teach people how to beat revive cats
Looks like someone uses the revive cat strategy 😂
