Hey Great review! I'm also in Socal and doing tire research to possibly replace my Resolutes. After watching this I will probably just get a new set. Since making the video have you had a chance to try the Pirelli Cinterado Gravel M ? Also thinking about going up in size to a 45 on my XXL YT Szepter 1. because I think more volume might be fun as I'm tall and over 200LBS and I like doing light mtb tracks on the Szepter 2. A test that I read shows the Cinterado Gravel M in a 45 has less rolling resistance than the Resolute in a 42 .......anyway ....let me know you thoughts on the various degrees of compromise.....
Have you tried WTB Raddler? I'm currently running 700 x 40. They are so good in loose sand, and mud, and pavement. The one problem I noticed is that the rear one is wearing out quick in the middle. I'd love to try the Resolute in the future.
I think I have ridden all the WTB gravel tires. But I can’t recall those so maybe not. I did not care much for the Riddlers but they ran undersized in the ones I tried. The 40s were closer to 37. IIRC. Might have to try the raddlers. I just am so happy with the Resolutes but it does seem like the Raddlers might have more cornering grip.
Have you tried the pirelli cinturato gravel M in 45c? They measure 44 on my 21mm internal rims. amazing traction, decently fast rolling. I live in Southern California. I loved them so much I fit the 50c version on my diverge and runnning 21psi front and 24 psi rear supple smooth and So capable and still roll well. Worth the small road penalty. (FYI, I came from pathfinder pro in 42c which measured 44 on my rims. )
