Worldwide Cyclery i was recommended Convict/Breakout combo and for my riding style ITS awesome! Came from mm/hd(schwalbe) and to me IT feels a bit better and a lot faster rolling. Grip is top notch on everything but wet roots. Went soft front hard rear rubber. Next time i’ll go softx2

WTB is selling good quality product for a better price than Maxxis. Maxxis seems to have been running up their prices within the past couple of years so it is good to see them have some competition.

I use the Trail Boss 2.25 as a front and a CST Ouster 2.25 as a rear with really good results. The CST is a little more narrow than the WTB, (they must measure differenly than one another) but it feels like a nice setup.

i turned up to the megavalanche last year with a riddler on the back, man i had some funny looks. Its one of the most capable and predictable tyres ive ever ridden when it comes to hardpack. the thing loves to drift! i got 3 waiting for me in the garage, theyre going on as soon as summer comes to the UK.

I'm running 2.5 Breakouts, front and rear, both Light Casing, Fast Rolling. This is on my hardtail, which I use for commuting, dog running, store runs, just feel like pedaling a bike, etc. These tires are great for asphalt, sidewalk, gravel, dirt paths, short grass and pretty much anything else you come across during urban rides.
Unfortunately, WTB has discontinued the Breakouts. As soon as I heard about that, I snapped up two sets of these tires. They're the right size, compound, mix of rolling speed and good grip for urban riding.
I'm set for a while, but I'll be at a loss on what to do once I wear these out.

Had WTB rims on a bike, they were absolutely super (well beyond the call of duty). I trust them as a company. That, "Riddler" tire looks perfect for my riding style. Their aggressive tires look to have overkill side blocking. I just realize I'm not actually riding muddy chunder 90% of the time, but like roads, and whatever other boringly necessaries.

My bike came with ranger 3.0s on my plus bike (2016 cannondale cujo 1) they hooked up great when they were brand new, but after 5 months they were pretty much worn out. (I'm suprises that they lasted that long) I had switched to bridger 3.0s (the most aggressive that I could find local) they hook up 100x better the the rangers ever did. And after about a year and a half riding there still not worn.
I would highly reccomend them who rides in rocky, loose dirt areas, They just hook up
Thanks for the great comparison guys!

To complement the video, one needs to remember that the nano was the first ever 29" tire ! It was around 2000 i think. Thanks wtb for making 29ers happen ! They also released the first 29" dh tire, the Dissent. It was short lived, but i got 2, and their lateral grip is incredible.

I have the WTB Riddler 2.25 x 27.5 on my Giant Talon 2 (2017). These tyres are very impressive, nimble, playful & functional at various on/off-road riding conditions. It's truly fast-rolling & surprisingly silent at high speeds esp. on asphalt tarmacs.
Tyre center knobs are reliably grippy, & side knobs deliver stable cornering even on low tilts.
This XC tyre is also good at delivering stopping power esp. during sudden breaking, allowing me to quickly manage the bike from crashing.
Tyre pressure sweet spot is between 30 & 35 PSI. >35, bike becomes rowdy & bumpy.
Fair warning though. Tyre can easily lose grip on wet, glassy-smooth, & loose surfaces. Reduce tyre pressure when needed.
Overall, it's a great tyre that is reasonably priced! It's not always an easy find esp. here in the Philippines. So when I had the opportunity, I bought it with haste!
Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #KeepBiking

I just got a jamis dragon slayer with 26 plus wheels. It has the WTB Rangers and 26 by 3.0. I like them, maybe not as much as I like my 27.5 by 2.8 swallowby nobby nics on my pine mountain but they seem to be decent. I only wish that they still had the tough version in 26 because I worry about the sidewall thickness on the light. My old 29er had the nano 2.1 and they weren't bad at all I just didn't like how harsh the ride was with the smaller volume tires on a rigid bike but they seem to be efficient and also had pretty decent traction in the sloppy stuff.

Follow up on the trail boss,,, bought two (only 2 29" 2.25 available WTB tires in my local bike shop).. Great rear tire, fast rolling and grabby but beware running a trail boss as front tire if you ride a lot of gravel/rural/fire roads! Found the knobs would tend to often grab and throw tons of gravel up into my face and ping off the bottom tube of my bike chipping the paint. Definitely better to ride a more aggressive Vigilante up front

Can I get an advise on tires set up on my full suspension haro mountain bike, I run the fat tire on back or front? Riding on dirt, dry, mud, rocks, just about anything that mother nature feels like throwing...
    27.5 x2.4 wtb vigilante front?
27.5x 2.3 wtb trail boss rear?
    27.5 x2.3 wtb vigilante front?
    27.5x2.4 wtb trail boss rear?

Most folks like to run a wider tire on the front, myself included, that way you get maximum traction on the front, where it really counts but you do not have excessive weight in the rear.

If I run a Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 Maxterra EXO front and Maxxis Griffin 2.3 Maxterra DD rear, what would I run in WTB?

Hey Alex, I would try the Vigilante up front and the Trail Boss in the rear to have something similar to what you are currently riding. :)

What do you think of the vigilante as a rear tyre ? Things are a bit wet and slippery here in Australia atm . Thinking vigilante high grip on front , maybe vigilante fast rolling on the rear , both in 2.6 . Like the feel of wide rubber , and just thought with the slippery conditions the vigilante might give more grip in the rear than the trail boss ? Or am I missing something? Cheers
