Fantastic. The best and the ONLY rock and roll flute player. ( other than me). Ha hah. Because of him. I started playing flute 30 yrs ago! I still jam on flute and drums in my late seventies. Thanks IAN!

Steve O the thing is the Band performed great. The song went off well. If he needs another singer to get the repetitive chorus out so be it. He sure blew through that solo. Let us see you perform that well at that age. I guess Chuck Berry should have retired too since he could no longer do the "duck walk". The crowd loved it. It's about the fans. Not your subjective opinion about wether or not he should hang up his passion.

I love how he found a loophole in aging/time through his flute. When he plays the flute its like hes able to be his true soul timeless.

This was my favorite song of theirs all time. Brilliant even today. Beats the crap out of modern pop or hip hop that's for sure. The song actually has a meaning which is something else lost in a lot of music today.

Ian is 68 and looks fucking amazing for it!It comforts me to see that even though Ian's hair, voice, kinetic energy and stage presence has receded, his mannerisms are still the same as from the 70's. The moustache wipe after singing into the microphone really made me smile.Ian is living proof that you're never too old to rock and roll, if you are too young to die.

Because the RNRHOF is a commercial corporate blunder. Jann Werner, editor of Rolling Stone magazine which used to be about music but is now political, is one of the jerkoffs that gets to vote who goes in & who doesn’t. So here are some bands that are still not in: Jethro Tull, Soundgarden, NIN, Tina Turner, Alice In Chains, Kings X, Living Colour, Todd Rundgren, Motley Crue, Janes Addiction, Ozzy (as a solo artist), Scorpions, Smashing Pumpkins, Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Steve Van & many, many more. The RNRHOF is a sham & a rip off. I’ve been there & if you want to buy an album it’s $40. Fuck the RNRHOF. Just a bunch of corporate cronies who vote in the bands/artists that conform to their corporate standards. THEY FORGOT THAT RNR IS AGAINST EVERYTHING CORPORATE AMERICA STANDS FOR......

Wow! After seeing Tull in their prime in the mid seventies while I was stationed in the US Navy in London back then, I was graced with the acknowledgement by Ian who ALWAYS understood the fan's perspective and easily accommodated them during his performances.
This particular concept album AQUALUNG from which this song 'Locomotive Breath' first appeared, holds a dear place in my heart and is very personal to me in a special way. While I was on the job in London we would send 2 people on a chow(food) run in the evening. So, While I was waiting in the car for my shipmate to return with our order, I was eating my McDonald's fries, which I had ordered for myself earlier and was startled by a loud knock on the window. I looked out and seen this long grey hair and full bearded fifty year old shabby dressed man pointing to my food and saw my partner approaching. Thinking quick, I rolled down my window and threw my fries at him, hoping to distract the 'Aqualung' so we could make a clean get away back to work. On our return I played the locomotive breath song and turned my friend on to the concept album after I explained the parallels of the album and our real life incident. He became an instant Tull fan.
I have worked many years feeding the 'Aqualungs' in our society, the down and out, each one created in the image of God and this is not lost on Ian who laments how a Good God could allow such uncompasioned cruelty to accosted the common man. As the album progresses, you have the religeous angst of a once good and productive citizen having evil foisted upon him and the inevitable cruelty and randomness of the frail human experince. So Aqualung has sought solace for his wife's betrayal by dropping out of productive society and turning to the bottle to cope with the life crushing pain. Ian beautifuly weaves the story with expansive use of illustrative prose set to his mischievous minstrel tale of the fall and decline of this poor man, now regulated in ill health to a slow, welcome death from the personal hell life has become with Aqualung relegated to the streets...maybe that is why when I retired from my regular job, I worked at a homeless feeding mission till my health would not allow it....you never know how music, the art, not only imitates but influences your life...Thank You Ian Anderson, may you live long and prosper!

Saw him last fall. Great show. His voice is a bit rough but he still rocks his ass off. I also saw him do his JT in the 21st Century. Also an excellent time.

I wholeheartedly agree! Why isn’t Jethro Tull in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? I’ve seen them 3 times, first time in 1971, and they were outside each time! Long live Ian Anderson. The music of my youth 😊.

That was a very tight performance. My favorite Tull band was the Glenn Cornick/Martin Barre era, but this band here delivered a great performance. I don't know the last time I heard Ian's flute playing so impassioned.

Cornick & Bunker, the best rhythm section Tull ever had, and with Martin Barre, superb, the best lineup for Tull, hands down!

Three of my five kids played the flute because of Ian Anderson. Best years of my life. My oldest daughter came over the other day and the first record she put on my turntable was Thick as a Brick. Took a while to get the old gal working.

What memory's.It takes me back to a teenager that had no idea what he would do with his life,or what he wanted to become in his life.No idea of what was in store for him,but one thing was for sure.I knew great music was all around me, and I was not lost on that fact. This band was one of the best at that time.I was able to see them one time.Late 70s,when I was 17 years old.It was at the old HollyWood Sportatorium,South Florida.
