Fantastic. The best and the ONLY rock and roll flute player. ( other than me). Ha hah. Because of him. I started playing flute 30 yrs ago! I still jam on flute and drums in my late seventies. Thanks IAN!
Great to see Ian Anderson still playing and he really doesn't need to sing as great as he used to, he is a legend and us true fans appreciate still having him around, what a Flute player!!
Steve O the thing is the Band performed great. The song went off well. If he needs another singer to get the repetitive chorus out so be it. He sure blew through that solo. Let us see you perform that well at that age. I guess Chuck Berry should have retired too since he could no longer do the "duck walk". The crowd loved it. It's about the fans. Because the RNRHOF is a commercial corporate blunder. Jann Werner, editor of Rolling Stone magazine which used to be about music but is now political, is one of the jerkoffs that gets to vote who goes in & who doesn’t. So here are some bands that are still not in: Jethro Tull, Soundgarden, NIN, Tina Turner, Alice In Chains, Kings X, Living Colour, Todd Rundgren, Motley Crue, Janes Addiction, Ozzy (as a solo artist), Scorpions, Smashing Pumpkins, Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Steve Van & many, many more. The RNRHOF is a sham & a rip off. I’ve been there & if you want to buy an album it’s $40. Fuck the RNRHOF. Just a bunch of corporate cronies who vote in the bands/artists that conform to their corporate standards. THEY FORGOT THAT RNR IS AGAINST EVERYTHING CORPORATE AMERICA STANDS FOR......

From a man who is dealing with COPD, it's amazing that he can sing at all or exert himself by running around the stage and playing the flute must also be considerably difficult. All the more reason to commend him.
That flute always sends a shiver down my spine. Saw these guys many years ago in my youth. Their music brings back many memories of my misspent times. Fun times though!

One of my cousins from Vancouver got to see Jethro Tull in a small church in England in the early 70's and raves about it. I saw one of his concerts in Ottawa early 70's as well. My understanding was it was being recorded for a possible live album. Amazing show
Saw him last fall. Great show. His voice is a bit rough but he still rocks his ass off. I also saw him do his JT in the 21st Century. Also an excellent time.
That was a very tight performance. My favorite Tull band was the Glenn Cornick/Martin Barre era, but this band here delivered a great performance. I don't know the last time I heard Ian's flute playing so impassioned.
So great to see an old established act that doesn't seem like a parody of it's former self. Nice and fresh and still such a great song....long may he live
Das war Live ! Seine Studio Aufnahmen bezeugen ihn selbst heute 2022 eine Geile Stimme . Zum Glück hast du ihn das Flöte spielen nicht auch noch kritisiert. 😉
Have seen a number of iterations of JT over the years. Some former players have given better/more faithful renditions of original pieces (Andy Giddings comes to mind) but no matter who is playing they are always tight and exciting to listen to. Yes, Ian's voice isn't as strong as it used to be but the flute playing just gets better. I'm happy he's brought in a supporting vocalist to take some of the singing duties. Ian's voice is always better second half of a concert so a couple of tracks at a festival isn't a fair indication. I hope Ian won't hang up the flute for a good few years yet especially as new music is spilling out of him again.
Fantastic. The best and the ONLY rock and roll flute player. ( other than me). Ha hah. Because of him. I started playing flute 30 yrs ago! I still jam on flute and drums in my late seventies. Thanks IAN!

My day is not complete if I haven’t listened to Jethro...that’s how much impact it has made in my life...long live the LEGEND and his, I mean their music. MY BOWS GO TO IAN, great respeto for THE MAN.....
how could anyone give this the thumbs down.this is amazing. x
You could if you had seen them in the late 60's early 70's, still talented but just not the same. I have been going to their concerts since 1971. Anderson is all in it for the money nowadays.
I doubt that...
@@davidhoward2487 Why do you doubt it? Have you ever met the man, or had a conversation with? Hate to burst your bubble but, Anderson's ego is huge. He's not a great as he thinks he is.
@@hoffer54 Ian Anderson is richer than Croseus. Made beaucoup in salmon farming
Ian’s not grabbing his nuts and cussing every other word
One of the best jams ever. I can never get tired of watching it.
One of the greats in the music business. and one of the greatest songs
Viva Jethro Tull!!
Saw this same lineup in Tacoma playing this as an encore. Ian may be aging but he still has heart. Great show.
Rick Strizic ...keeping Tull alive the madman himself Ian Anderson.....since 1968 .
I love watching this right after the older live version and seeing that Ian still has the moves and knows how to make his entrance after all these years. Sure he's a little older as I am too, and but he's still got it! Long live Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull!
Brilliant! Love this man.
Lloyd Hartman I USED TO LIKE HIM BUT HES AN UTTER TOSSER THESE DAYS
van doosel If you don't like him, why are you here? and why are you bitching to everybody in the comments about? If ya don't like it you can just GO AWAY instead of trying to ruin it for everybody else... Just a thought...
van doosel vete a la fregada de aqui.(traduzcancelo en ingles por favor yo no puedo)
Yes keep drinking piss ,its obviously doing you good
John Hammond hey are you jeffrey brother, just a thought
One of my cousins from Vancouver got to see Jethro Tull in a small church in England in the early 70's and raves about it.
I saw one of his concerts in Ottawa early 70's as well. My understanding was it was being recorded for a possible live album. Amazing show
Legit legend stuff right here
A brilliant piece of improvisation Ian. Magnificient.
Loved these guys back in there prime and still going strong.
Some of these classic rockers unfortunately have lost their voices but not Jethro tull!! Sounds as good as ever!!!
Saw him last fall. Great show. His voice is a bit rough but he still rocks his ass off. I also saw him do his JT in the 21st Century. Also an excellent time.
Une légende inoubliable du génie de IAN ANDERSON avec JETHRO TULL : LOCOMOTIVE BREATH , merci Sir Anderson!
The Isle of Wight Festival vibe has changed considerably since 1970, when Tull first performed.
Totally different festival.
I'm 69 and still love them been to so many concerts I can't count probably the best band live ever.
Maravilhoso , assistindo em 2019, o que é bom nunca morre. Clássico.
Ian Anderson: a real living rock icon! Been a fan of J. Tull since 1968.
Today's music has nothing on the 60s and 70s...my youth...at 58 it is nice to listen. Jan 2019
c'est mon morceau préféré depuis l'âge de 19 ans.....je vous adore JETHRO TULL......THANK YOU
That was a very tight performance. My favorite Tull band was the Glenn Cornick/Martin Barre era, but this band here delivered a great performance. I don't know the last time I heard Ian's flute playing so impassioned.
Cornick & Bunker, the best rhythm section Tull ever had, and with Martin Barre, superb, the best lineup for Tull, hands down!
Greatest intro to a song ever? Stunning. Every time.
Ian Anderson is still a beast
So great to see an old established act that doesn't seem like a parody of it's former self. Nice and fresh and still such a great song....long may he live
Ian's vocals aren't what they used to be but damn can he perform on stage! Amazing flute playing.
Das war Live ! Seine Studio Aufnahmen bezeugen ihn selbst heute 2022 eine Geile Stimme . Zum Glück hast du ihn das Flöte spielen nicht auch noch kritisiert. 😉
Glad to see you playing Ian! And Tull! Still got it!
I'll add my concensis on the flute playing, but let's be honest that voice is scary.
Only just started listening to Jethro tull what a wake up experience it was !!!!
What can i say just a brilliant song
Such a brilliant musician 68 years old and moving like he is across that absolutely awesomeness
