I had to pause watching about 8 minutes in : just too much thinking for one day. I'll be back tomorrow. I'm going to pickup a bag of Oreos on my way to the range

69 years old, I had put away the clubs for the last 15 years. 3 months ago I decided to start playing again. First thing I did was took some lessons. I had so many swing thoughts I was an absolute disaster. Watched three of your videos last night and went to the range this morning. Weight on the left side, arms straight and short back swing. I was hitting the ball further, higher and straighter than anytime in the last three months. Not perfect but a HUGE difference and when I didn't make solid contact I immediately knew why. Now I have some simple swing mechanics that I can practice and gain consistency with. Many Thanks
I'm very glad to know that the lesson videos you referenced resonated well with you. Nice job incorporating them into your swing, and indeed - knowing the "why's" behind our contact and ball flight issues is so important if we truly desire to improve. I can definitely relate, at 67 and having played since I was 13, it is so easy in today’s world of UA-cam and Social Media to get Bombarded and Overwhelmed with the onslaught of information and confusion in the golf swing. Huge fan of this channel😎🏌🏼♂️
I’m 73, been playing since I was 12. I was always a 90-100 golfer until watching this. Last night I eagled a par 5 and had4 more pars for a 40. Lowest 9 in my life. Thanks Tim Paul
That is *AWESOME,* Paul - Congrats on a great 9-hole round and your new personal best score!! 💪💪 I’m very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play. Thanks so much for your support in sharing your on-course success and keep up the great work!! Tom Saguto, PGA PS: By the way, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. If you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? The value in terms of what you get for the low price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. I hope you'll give the school some thought.

One of your tips that helped me get an "AHA!" moment is the more weight on the lead leg. It really helps connect the circle consistently even if the arms aren't straight. I'm going to concentrate on the straightening of the arms now along with the leg thought. YOUR STUFF WORKS!!!
Yes yes yes!! That is one of the key AHA's. Great job figuring it out!! I've recently added this 90% Weight Forward/Arms Straight drill to the SagutoGolf online school, and it has quickly become one of my top go-to fixes for a variety of issues, partly for the reasons that you mentioned: saguto.golf/courses/1175315/lectures/31131342. Have you enrolled there yet? For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year it'll get you on the fast track to owning your swing through short, simple, step-by-step videos. Same. I'm absolutely ripping my drives straight down the pipe now. I was out in the desert on my swing for two years before finding this channel. Just amazing how simple the fixes are. Now, the only time I really mess up a shot is when I fall back into my old ways of trying to swing hard.
Tom has literally changed my life in the last month lol ive always been an athletic person and just learned how to hit a golf ball by just visually seeing other people do it. Id hit decent shots, more crappy shots than good shots. Been shooting low 90s forever it seems like. I havent gone out yet because im from montana but i feel like ill be shooting low 80s in no time because i decided to swallow my pride by working on short swings, to half swings and then to full swings. And im feeling things i have never felt before. It doesnt feel awkward. It feels more comfortable then anything. Cant wait to see how I do.
I went for a lesson the other day and the instructor tells me sometimes I’m not keeping my lead arm straight. I search videos and come across this. Just got back from the range and put Saguto’s tip of “PITS UP”……OMG! After that one little tip my swing was on auto pilot! Lead arm stayed straight and I was hitting them crisp! Thank you so much! No one else talks about that but you! You gained a follower!
Unfortunately, Ralph, such sorcery from this dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎 I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing!! I must say Tom, I have played golf for many years and dead set been between 100 - 90 every round. I have hit under 90 a couple of times, last week I hit 88 after not playing for 4 months but stumbled across your videos. And tonight I was in the shed having a few swings and kept my arms straight and I swear to god I have never felt my shots feel so pure and consistent. Tomorrow I'm going to make sure I wasn't dreaming and have another go before my round on Sunday. #legend. also could you do another driver video, I haven't quite grasped the driver yet.
That pure feeling is called "compression", and it's the best feeling in golf! With regard to the driver, it’s essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some driving range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: ua-cam.com/video/o0xscMyN3v8/v-deo.html Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content. Upon learning this swing properly you will be harnessing the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum". This is the reason my students and online school members of all age ranges end up bombing it farther than they ever had previously. Here's a link if you'd like additional information about the school : saguto.golf Keep up the great work and have fun out there on Sunday!! Tom
I recently found this out by luck by practising and struggling with driver. Fixed it instantly, moved it to my irons next session. Went home typed typed in "straight arms in golf swing" and just like magic my man is the first video to show. Confirmed this will change your game. I'll get from 7 to 3 with this in 3 months I am convinced.🎉
Awesome job on the self-discovery, and I'm very glad to know that this lesson video provided the validation you were seeking! Tom, My twelve year old grandson and I finally were able to get to an outdoor practice range to practice our remade Seguto golf swings. We struggled a bit at first, (the ground had the expected post winter bumpy and squishy soft feel) but once we adjusted to playing off of real grass and dirt instead of a practice mat we were both making good contact. If we didn’t get good results we would reminding each other what Tom says about set-up, left shoulder dip and just turning. Sticking to your common sense lessons improved our contact, ball flight and distance. We can’t thank you enough for your excellent instructions. Now we need the weather to cooperate so that we can practice and play every chance we get.
That's fantastic - I'm very glad to know that things transitioned well for you both as you migrated your swings from a sterile mat onto some challenging turf conditions! And how great is it for each of you to have a support system that speaks the same language?! Sounds like things are teed up for you and your grandson to have a very enjoyable season together!! Tom
You are amazing. I have never left the driving range happy or satisfied until I tried your method. I discovered you last week on here and I have watch and practice in my garage and finally made it to the range and most of my shots were KFC Crispy with all my clubs. Where have you been for the last 20 years of my golf struggle. I’m going to be an amazing golfer this year, thanks to you and if I’m down your way I will be booking a lesson. Thanks a million, you are one of a kind!

I’m about 5-6 months new to golf (only played about 10 rounds) Haven’t gotten lessons, just a bunch of UA-cam. I’ve been a mess trying a bunch of random swing tips until I found your channel. I’ve gone from 120+ to consistent high 80s and mid 90s from your channel, and I’m having so much more fun doing it! Can’t wait to play even better!
You're already shooting 90's and 80's after just a half-year of playing, Tyler??? That's phenomenal!!! I'm very glad to know that my channel's instruction content has helped you! To rid yourself of any further confusion, have you considered the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school? I realize golfers struggle with different aspects of their swing. But, for a guy who has struggled with hitting the ball fat for 40 years, this might be the single most helpful golf tip I have ever seen. I did not hit every shot perfectly, but I didn't hit a single fat shot in 18 holes after watching this video one time. I am signing up for the subscription and can't wait to see how my game progresses. Thanks Tom!!
That's awesome, Derrick! I'm very glad to know that this lesson helped you to such an extent, and I'm thrilled to have you onboard! Here's some preliminary advice to help you get off to a good start in the school: 1) Regardless of a member's skill level, this swing necessitates a complete reboot for someone transitioning from a shift & lift swing (which is typically the case), and therefore it is imperative that one take sufficient time to ensure that the fundamental components are mastered. From the ground up there is nothing superfluous in the Stack & Tilt swing - in other words, everything with a purpose, and a purpose for everything. (For example, contrary to shift & lift where you may be taught to keep your trail foot perpendicular to the target line as a means of "creating resistance" in your trail side, in S&T we flare both feet out 10-20 degrees in order to facilitate a free flowing, inclined hip and shoulder turn.) I cannot emphasize this enough, as frustrations predominantly occur when students jump ahead in the curriculum without properly dedicating themselves to the foundational base upon which our consistently repeatable, powerful, low maintenance swing must be built. Chapter 1 of the Golf Swing Simplified program (GSS) and Part I of Get Out & Go Play (GOGP) both address this. 2a) GSS: One of the many great things about this swing is that you can achieve solid ball striking even at the most basic levels. This is why I oftentimes will suggest that students park themselves on Chapter 2 of the GSS course for an extended period of time after locking down Chapter 1's foundational elements. Chapter 2 reinforces the body motions and the weight-forward component, and it culminates with what I call "The Best Golf Swing Practice Drill of All Time". Work yourself sequentially and gradually through the chapter, and then commit yourself to that drill in Lesson 2.8. Learn it. Practice it. Master it. You can even use this partially abbreviated swing on the course and play quite well with it as it will provide plenty of distance. (It actually is the full swing minus just a couple of power accumulators.) Once you've got that down, you will be well prepared to move forward in the curriculum and well on your way towards taking ownership of YOUR swing! 2b) GOGP: This quick-start program is exactly as it sounds - it is designed to fast-track you out onto the course so you can have fun - and success - playing as you learn! Should you choose this path, everything in #1 above still applies, and as implied above in 2a you will still want to work through it sequentially and gradually, mastering each lesson before moving ahead to the next one. In this program, Drill #5 - The Flying Wedge is the one you'll want to park yourself on and nail down. 3) Also, as you progress always keep in mind the V1 Swing Video Analysis service, an effective and inexpensive service that I highly recommend to everyone in the school. I liken it to bringing your swing into the shop for a tune-up or minor repair. Scheduling one on a quarterly basis for preventive maintenance will do wonders for keeping things humming along nicely, and it's also a great tool for pinpointing and resolving any issues that arise. The process involves downloading the free V1 app and then submitting two videos to me through the app - one down-the-line (captured from your stance line, not the target line) and the other face-on. You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis halfway down this page on the Saguto.Golf site: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolf 4) Finally, please migrate over to the SagutoGolf Community Forum - which is included in your online school membership - and begin engaging with your fellow members. It only takes a minute or two to enroll - just go to your “My Courses” screen and you’ll see a link to get started. Once signed in you’ll be able to access and participate in the great dialogue that we are having on a variety of topics. You can start discussions, contribute to existing threads, post specific swing questions, make some new friends, and just share in the common bond of golfers from around the world seeking to improve their games and help others to do the same. I really think you’ll enjoy it! I look forward to assisting you through the school’s structured lessons and drills towards building a consistent, low maintenance, powerful, body-friendly swing that will bring your enjoyment of this great game to a new level! Tom
OK JUST HAVE TO SAY THIS.....This has made my contact soooo much more consistent than ever before...I can not say enough about this...Great Job and everyone owe's it to them self to not only try but to adapt this to their current swing...RIP IT!!!!!!!

Tom! You're the man, I've been watching Danny Maude and your videos all summer studying the golf swing. Baseball to golf convert with really strong hand eye just trying to figure out the keys to a proper, consistent golf swing. This video was the missing piece to my swing and I can't thank you enough! You're doing gods works here man, is there any better gift than the keys to unlocking the game of golf for someone? Probably not.
I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing!! I was a baseball player as well. There are certainly some similarities between baseball and golf, but also some considerable differences that we must understand. You'd think that going from hitting 90 mph fastballs with assorted junk mixed in to whacking a stationary ball in a fixed location would be a cinch.......but no........😆😆 By the way, here's a video from the archives that compares the "shallowing" move in golf to a baseball swing if you'd like to have a look: ua-cam.com/video/ytyMaS-cSQg/v-deo.html And here's a link to my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” in case you’re interested in learning some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ Thanks so much for your kind words. Hands down the most entertaining, a blast to watch, simple instruction. Ten bucks a month is NOTHING compared to the cost of even a half hour lesson. I've been Saguto golfer for less than three weeks and could not be happier!!!! Simple, easy to follow. My fourth trip to the range and I crushed it yesterday. The guy next to me asked me about it so I sent him this video. I'm a huge fan of Tom, heck I watch his videos all day at work just for the entertainment value all while sharpening my understanding of this system. Thanks so much Tom, golf is fun again!!!!!!
FUN is really what this is all about, Scotty!! I truly appreciate your very kind words and support, and I'm thrilled for your improvements through this channel and more recently in the online school!! Thanks so much for sharing, keep up the great work, and have a blast out there!! Tom
I've abandoned my old "swing" which I could hit it nicely at times but was terribly inconsistent. I stumbled upon Tom's videos one morning having coffee before a round. I spent 3 days on the range and am finding a more consistent swing. I think I may be in the low 80s soon. Thanks, Tom.
Going snake - I am the same been playing 20 years - hours and hours of practice. Lessons and lessons and still searching and playing inconsistent golf. I am capable of hitting decent shots and have a ok shirt game but .... so inconsistent - what’s your advice ?? Cheers
This is the greatest iron video that I found so far. He's got perfect form he doesn't drop the club, he doesn't dive over the ball, and he doesn't lift up wrongfully. This is the original and proper way to do an iron swing. Other swings as well need to maintain a consistent level and I'm constantly seeing supposed professionals make mistakes when this guy, is doing everything properly. Not to say that this guy is not professional, but I'm talking about other guys out there who a lot of people will swear by no exactly what they're doing but I constantly see them making mistakes.
I appreciate that, Laurence, and I'm very glad to know that you are enjoying the game. That's *_really_* what this is all about!!! Thanks for your support, and keep up the great work!! Tom

Truth! I have been watching your videos for awhile, but last night your videos about straight arms was the key I needed!! I average 84.0 today I shot a1over 72…..thanks
So true, had a very long and hot summer time. No golf for 2 months. Then went to the range and was enjoying making pure contact and enjoying the ball flight.

I am 72 and started playing golf consistently when I retired, but struggled to get below 94/96 per round. I discovered Saguto Golf a few months ago and am now playing in the mid 80’s, with my short game still the barrier to lower scores, but the big difference is I am really enjoying my golf, as I have a reasonable expectation of parring or at most bogeying each hole and not hunting around in the tress for my ball. Thanks Tom.
That's awesome, Stuart!! I'm very glad to learn of your improvement through my instruction - nice job incorporating it into your swing!! Now... since you're in the online school, how about spending some time in the various short game courses so we can shave some shots and get you into the 70's?.....😎 Keep up the great work and have fun out there!! Beating folks into push-draw submission is what I do best Jay...💪😂 Nice job - I'm glad it's working for you and I hope you enjoy your beautiful new ball flight! Tom
Hey Tom Just want to say thank you I started another online cause this year with all the things you joke about in the back swing, I did the 1000 reps of each exercise for 3 months & my swing turned to custard. Thank fully I found your hogan back swing video. Have done 2000 reps of chuck the water melon(I used a football) Spent to months only hitting a 6 iron, swing is so sweat now. Tested my driver yesterday to really check my swing. No More fades/slices. All draws & a few hooks to my surprise. Thank you Mate, will be joining your course.

This is great. I've had lessons for years. Backswing, shift weight to right, lift hands high, hinge the wrists, coming down, drop in the slot, get the hips out of the way, shaft leaning forward, hit after you have rotated your hips, finish the swing with your right shoulder pointed down the target line, back to the place where you hit the shot, all weight off right leg. TOO TOO much thinking to be able to hit the ball. This makes much more sense to a person who wasn't born with natural talent. THis swing probably doesn't get you in the 60's but I'm not looking to get in the 60's. Im looking to shoot mid 80's. Ive been taking lessons for years and still shoot mid 90's. It's not working because there is too much thinking on every shot.
Thanks - I'm glad to know that this lesson resonated well with you! Sadly, many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings of "conventional" instruction - including all those you mentioned - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well). We're doing our best here and in my online school to clear these up one by one and put an end to this madness! By the way, a recent survey of SagutoGolf online school members has thus far garnered a statistically significant return of over 200 responses with the following outcome to date: Upon enrolling in the online school, the average 18-hole score among all respondents was 95. Since being in the school these same students now report an average 18-hole score of 82, along with the gratification and joy that goes with it! Have you given any thought to enrolling? Thank you so much for this lesson. The idea of keeping the arms super-straight really helped me make a full shoulder turn away and to the ball. I also noticed in the videos that your left knee breaks toward the target as you begin your takeaway. This too, worked so well for me in helping make a proper weight transfer to my left side, with no swaying. Btw, when am I going to see another guitar video?
Great job building this lesson into your swing!! As for the knee action in the backswing, the lead knee always works straight down in the direction established at address - which should be flared slightly outward towards the target. This keeps the weight forward and the swing center intact. Any inward movement of the lead knee will shift the center and low point backwards. This can lead to inconsistency and may also cause some discomfort to the knee. Here's an episode on this topic: ua-cam.com/video/1OSKMF8X_zQ/v-deo.html As for the guitar stuff, it was a very difficult business decision. I just couldn't maintain both anymore, and ultimately it came down to career vs. hobby (and I do still play every chance I get!). Having said that, my guitar membership program is still active. Here’s the link if interested: saguto.golf/p/tom-s-rockin-guitar-membership Also, if you haven't already seen it perhaps you might enjoy this collaborative effort with a YT golf blogger from England who also happens to be a very talented musician: ua-cam.com/video/MG51rLOm6F0/v-deo.html Rock on! Tom, I would like to THANK YOU for this lesson/tip. Before my drives & my irons at times were going left or right with an occasional straight shot and short on distance where my scoring was in the 90's with an occasional breaking 90 score. I took this lesson to the range to understand & incorporate your "straight arm" swing and HOLLY COW what a game changer. This year I am now hitting 12 to 14 out of 14 fairways from the tee box, I'm hitting my other clubs straighter than before. In addition, I have seen an improvement in distance with all my clubs where I am now selecting a lower number club from my bag for shots. Example, usually select a 7 iron for a particular shot, now I’m selecting a 8 iron, 8 now 9,etc.. I now would like to get my weight shift better and introduce a draw to promote more distance.. Again thanks, this swing change with your help has made golf more exciting to play and I'm scoring more rounds in the 80's. Keep up the great work!

This concept definitely makes sense. I’m just curious on your thoughts around the very common characteristic you see with low handicap and tour players where they have the slightly bent right elbow both at address and at impact, arms fully straightening after impact.
Hi Russ, "Straight arms" is one of the tenets of the Stack and Tilt swing that I teach. As the S&T book states, "of course the right (trail) arm bends in the backswing and the left (lead) arm bends at the finish, but as much as possible the arms should be kept straight." Straight arms enables us to preserve the radius of our swing circle in this very centered motion while keeping the downswing moving on the proper in-to-out path, and this "feel" is something we strive to maintain even as the wrists naturally hinge and the trail arm folds to 90 degrees in the backswing. And you are correct - full extension will occur just past impact. Best Regards, Tom PS: Perhaps you might wish to consider enrolling in my online school? Tom my man, just wanted to say, I won my first club championship today. Been playing golf for just over a year. I’m a professional footballer so I’m naturally athletic and I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t just use my athleticism to get better at golf. After following your tips, it took all those flippy, handsy issues I had and transformed my game. From a 35 handicap to a 4.5 in 14th months and only 8 months of following your advice. Thanks Tom
That is *OUTSTANDING,* Stephen - Congratulations on your club championship victory!! 💪💪 Quite frankly, given your profession I am not surprised with regard to what many would view as a truly remarkable transformation. There are definite similarities between the football/soccer kicking motion and a properly executed golf downswing, as both harness the tremendous force of angular momentum. You just needed to purge yourself of the variables created by that swing-wrecking "flippy, handsy" minutiae, learn how to properly put the big muscles in control, and thereby build yourself into a ball striking machine. And now that you have done so, given your athleticism once that "machine" is fully optimized the only remaining question will be, "how low can you go?...." 😎 Thanks so much for your support in sharing your dramatic improvement and playing success; I'm very glad to know that my instruction is performing well for you. Enjoy that first golf trophy and keep up the fantastic work!! Tom
I'm glad to know that this lesson resonated so well with you, Shane. Thanks for sharing your success with it!! Good luck to your Astros. Not sure if my Yankees stand a chance (if they can even make it past today...). Keep up the great work!! Tom
I have a huge problem with trying to implement too many different styles of swing from all the instructors I watch. The only one I get consistent good results from is you and the stack and tilt guys out there. Been golfing for a year now and I feel like with as much as I practice I’d be so much better if I just stuck to what works.

Tom Saguto....Super Genius!! Watched this Saturday night. Went out Sunday and hit it great! Shot 78 and was smashing it! Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!
Subscribing to what your teaching but left 10 shots on the course yesterday with fat shots. Finished with a disappointing 95. Your weight forward tip has changed my swing for the better. To your point, I was never taught that. I’ll work on the ‘arms straight’ - I call them ‘robot arms’ in my swing thought.
I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you. As you ingrain that weight forward element - which realistically can take time if you were previously shifting into your trail side - those fat shots will crisp up for you. And with regard to your "robot arms", this week's episode is on that exact topic. Ah yes... The dark side of golf. Evil swing sorcery. The cult that is quietly, surreptitiously gathering lost swings from the vast purgatorial abyss of failed "conventional" instruction and leading them to the way and the truth of a method rooted in the unchanging principles of physics and geometry. Creating heinously horrifying creatures of repeatability, predictable ball flight, and effortless power. Like a hideous and unstoppable amoeba slowly yet steadily consuming the golfing globe. Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated. Mwahahaha.....Mwahahahaha..... 😂😂😂 Welcome aboard, Wolf Man!! Tom

Indeed he does, Nick, and I had no idea until I returned back to the office to review the footage! He was a perfectly scripted accidental stage prop!! 😂 Cheers! Tom
I noticed a fellow golfer leaning forward such as you do and he was absolutely winging the ball.. so I asked him, if there is a reason he leans forward like that. . I just watched this video twice then went to my backyard hit net. WOW, I hit 19m of 20 shots pure. I been taking lesson and my hitting coach has been teaching me this but seeing this and the tip of 90% of my weight on the left side, really help! One thing that I got from you that I was missing, is pushing my elbows up and reaching out there. Don't worry about the wrist cock because if you keep your arms straight, they will cock. I've been playing golf for about 45 years. In the beginning I tried to learn the game from Harvey Penick's Llittle Red Book." I've taken a few lessons from the local pro and at Hank Haney's school in Dallas. The best I've ever played was a 74 and the next day I think I shot an 87. The last 2 years have seen back surgery twice and an extended recovery that did not include golf of any kind. 2 days ago I went to the driving range taking 6 months of Tom's instructions with me. With all my clubs except the putter I was striking the ball as though I'd not had any time off. Pain? Not while swinging. Afterwards was a different story.😊 I'm now eager to get back on the course. Thanks for making this understandable. That's the mark of an excellent teacher.

Crispy, I like this lesson! I use this technique for long pitches 50, 75 yrds etc... I will really try this for full shots! (This is a'la Steve Stricker). Being a little older I try to turn too much and get out of sequence. Thank you..
I hope it works well for you, Ken! Don't concern yourself with getting to parallel - just try to feel and ingrain your body's natural stopping point in the backswing where the tilting, turning, and extending motions are complete, the lead arm has crossed the chest 45 degrees, and the wrists are properly set (preferably with a flat or slightly bowed lead wrist). This is the point where if we were to try to go any further any or all of the following will occur: 1) the lead arm will bend and/or lift 2) the wrists will break down 3) the lead knee will kick inward towards the trail side 4) the lead shoulder will level out and lose its orientation towards the ball 5) weight will shift into the trail side and bring the low point back with it, resulting in inconsistent contact and unpredictable ball flight. 6) you'll "chicken wing" and/or flip through impact 7) pain, discomfort, and/or possible injury Here's a channel episode that speaks to the benefits of a shorter backswing: ua-cam.com/video/lw5ZHa529Kk/v-deo.html Have you considered the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school? idk what it is but i like your initial stance. its like you're already setup for how you should be when your club will make contact with the ball. your left foot looks open so you can turn really easily at finish
Hi Tony, The prescribed setup for the Stack and Tilt swing I teach includes flaring out both feet approximately 10-20 degrees, and the knees similarly angled outward. This orientation facilitates a stress-free, flowing motion back and through, resulting in a very body-friendly, consistent, powerful swing. Thanks! Tom
I have been working on this swing for a few days and finally took it to the course after not playing a round since before covid started. I shot a 91, which I know doesn’t sound like much, but hear me out. I hit a ball so far off the tee on a dog left left that it actually hit a cart path that cuts across the fairway to get down to a bridge that takes you over water. Hit the bridge ball flew to the moon and landed in pond. Also had 3 bunkers and no putter to speak of (been 16 months since I putted). I share all this detail to say, this could have been the round of my life had it not been for some terrible luck and an ice cold putter. I play again on Monday and can’t wait

Many Thanks

As you are now coming to understand, one does not need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought.
Read lots and lots of golf instructional books over the past 30 years and this UA-cam instructor makes more sense than the lot of them, amazing!
I sincerely appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my lesson content and teaching style are resonating with you and providing clarity and simplicity in the muddied, overly complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction!

You're very welcome. I'm watching from Australia and loving your content, will check out the 'mini course' as well! Keep em coming mate.@@SagutoGolf
Additionally, there is an abundance of content aimed at resolving a variety of swing flaws and ball flight issues, and I also personally answer specific swing-related questions from members. Here's a link if you'd like more info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga. I hope to see you there!

Me too!
I'm looking forward to your updates once you're able to get back out there, Patrick!!
Thanks for you kind words and support!!
TS
I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing!!
Thanks so much for sharing your crispy ball striking improvement and keep up the great work!!
Tom

Here's a link if you'd like additional information about the school : saguto.golf
Keep up the great work and have fun out there on Sunday!!
Thanks for sharing your success with this concept, keep up the great work, and we'll see you hovering around scratch in the very near future!

That's AWESOME, @Chulo0210!! I'm very glad to know that my channel's instruction content is resonating so well with you. Nice job incorporating it into your swing!!

Here's some preliminary advice to help you get off to a good start in the school:
1) Regardless of a member's skill level, this swing necessitates a complete reboot for someone transitioning from a shift & lift swing (which is typically the case), and therefore it is imperative that one take sufficient time to ensure that the fundamental components are mastered.
You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis halfway down this page on the Saguto.Golf site: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolf
4) Finally, please migrate over to the SagutoGolf Community Forum - which is included in your online school membership - and begin engaging with your fellow members.

This is the most enjoyable yet educational golf lesson/video I've ever watched. Your commentary is on point haha
Thanks Pat - I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
You'd think that going from hitting 90 mph fastballs with assorted junk mixed in to whacking a stationary ball in a fixed location would be a cinch.......but no........😆😆

10:24 “hit the squirrel” 😂😆 this guy is hilarious. My new favorite online coach
No worries....it didn't....😬😂

Cheers
Tom changed my golf life. In the 80s pretty regularly now....putting is improving because i hit it closer to the hole.
Cool - thanks
@@darrenmale3312 for me it's making the same swing and don't stand there trying to hit the ball.
@@jm.goingsnake Thanks you got me at “abandoned” I am in !
Thank you!! I sincerely appreciate your kind words regarding my swing and the system I teach!!

That is AWESOME, Marcell!! Congratulations on a tremendous round, and thanks for sharing your success here!!

Love this tip... exactly what I’ve been doing in my swing for the last 4-5 years. Straight arm’s means perfect contact with long or short irons.
Fantastic!! And let us not forget those woods as well...

Hey Tom
Just want to say thank you
I started another online cause this year with all the things you joke about in the back swing, I did the 1000 reps of each exercise for 3 months & my swing turned to custard.
Thank fully I found your hogan back swing video. Have done 2000 reps of chuck the water melon(I used a football)
Spent to months only hitting a 6 iron, swing is so sweat now.
Tested my driver yesterday to really check my swing. No More fades/slices. All draws & a few hooks to my surprise.

Yes Scott - Those connections are of paramount importance!!

HI TOM ive been using your golf swing intruction and my handicap has come down 2 strokes i now have the confidence to take on most clubs in the bag . Brill instruction
That's fabulous, David - I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating well with you!!
Thanks so much for sharing your success, keep up the great work, and have fun out there!!
Tom
Here's an episode on this topic: ua-cam.com/video/1OSKMF8X_zQ/v-deo.html
As for the guitar stuff, it was a very difficult business decision. I just couldn't maintain both anymore, and ultimately it came down to career vs. hobby (and I do still play every chance I get!). Having said that, my guitar membership program is still active. Here’s the link if interested: saguto.golf/p/tom-s-rockin-guitar-membership
Also, if you haven't already seen it perhaps you might enjoy this collaborative effort with a YT golf blogger from England who also happens to be a very talented musician: ua-cam.com/video/MG51rLOm6F0/v-deo.html

Great golf instructor, keeping it real, and simple.
Helps me immensely…
Thanks Bro👏🫵👏
That's awesome, William!! I'm very glad to know that this lesson has worked so well for you; excellent job building it into your swing!!

@@SagutoGolf I will definitely look into joining for the off season her in the upper Midwest where I can practice inside a dome.
@William Young - Sounds good. There's even an indoor training program with lessons and drills you can do within the comforts of your home.
This concept definitely makes sense. I’m just curious on your thoughts around the very common characteristic you see with low handicap and tour players where they have the slightly bent right elbow both at address and at impact, arms fully straightening after impact.
Hi Russ,
"Straight arms" is one of the tenets of the Stack and Tilt swing that I teach.
Best Regards,
Tom

Tom my man, just wanted to say, I won my first club championship today.
Been playing golf for just over a year. I’m a professional footballer so I’m naturally athletic and I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t just use my athleticism to get better at golf. After following your tips, it took all those flippy, handsy issues I had and transformed my game. From a 35 handicap to a 4.5 in 14th months and only 8 months of following your advice.
Thanks Tom
That is *OUTSTANDING,* Stephen - Congratulations on your club championship victory!! 💪💪
Quite frankly, given your profession I am not surprised with regard to what many would view as a truly remarkable transformation. And now that you have done so, given your athleticism once that "machine" is fully optimized the only remaining question will be, "how low can you go?...." 😎
Thanks so much for your support in sharing your dramatic improvement and playing success; I'm very glad to know that my instruction is performing well for you.
Enjoy that first golf trophy and keep up the fantastic work!!
Tom
I want to say thank you for this tidbit. It saved my golf swing, I was really struggling on the range
If there is a question in your comment, @GeneralDisgust, well then I think you just answered it!...😂

Thanks @M H!! My compliments to your club pro!!

Funniest thing ever...the guy standing behind you on the range was doing exactly what you were saying NOT to do!!!!!
I was watching the same thing! LOL
@@mtrip6857 hilarious
That guy behind him was a flubber. He should have pulled up a chair with a glass of tea.
That's hilarious. I was watching him demonstrate Tom's description and chuckling.
Ditto... could not , not watch...Tom! Turn around and be gentle with him.
All seriousness, great video as usual Tom.
Been straight arming all year .95 rounds this year 85 shot in the 70s all because of Straight arms, even shot a pair of 70s.WORKS love the smash sound !!!
That's AWESOME, Nancy!!
Thanks so much for sharing your success with the Straight Arms lesson. You've obviously done a stellar job of incorporating it into your swing!!

Clearly that guy behind him is not staged because we've all been "that guy" without ever realizing it. Great lesson.
He was indeed the perfect "happy accident", and yes - we've all been there!!

Im never quite sure whether this guy will change my golf game or tie me to a chair in an abandoned warehouse but I like it!
Quite frankly, I'm never quite sure either. So far it's been all about the golf game, but like a game of roulette you just never know...... 😂
Here's the link if you have not yet watched it: ua-cam.com/video/m91Zd5GXz4E/v-deo.html

Da Wolf Man

I noticed a fellow golfer leaning forward such as you do and he was absolutely winging the ball.. so I asked him, if there is a reason he leans forward like that. . He said that he is working on a new golf swing and noticed I was extremely inconsistent.. as I left he sent me a link to this video.. can't wait to get started! I could use some consistency.

Afterwards was a different story.😊
I'm now eager to get back on the course. Thanks for making this understandable. That's the mark of an excellent teacher.

Crispy,
I like this lesson!
This is the point where if we were to try to go any further any or all of the following will occur:
1) the lead arm will bend and/or lift
2) the wrists will break down
3) the lead knee will kick inward towards the trail side
4) the lead shoulder will level out and lose its orientation towards the ball
5) weight will shift into the trail side and bring the low point back with it, resulting in inconsistent contact and unpredictable ball flight.
6) you'll "chicken wing" and/or flip through impact
7) pain, discomfort, and/or possible injury
Here's a channel episode that speaks to the benefits of a shorter backswing: ua-cam.com/video/lw5ZHa529Kk/v-deo.html

Crispy,
You're awesome.. I'm a struggling scratch.. but played a lot of sports growing up. Had new rt hip and new Lt knee so the lower body is screwed. Was a qualifying rabbit back in tour days...(70s and 80s) Average putter, had to find a day job. I play with some former tour guys and big gamblers.. Fun tour stories about famous players. I appreciate and enjoy your teachings and unique approch to the swing. Very simple... The golf swing for me use to be simple.
"Stay crispy my friend!!"
That's some great background detail, Ken!
Hopefully we can at least take the struggle out of the scratch!! 😎
idk what it is but i like your initial stance. its like you're already setup for how you should be when your club will make contact with the ball. your left foot looks open so you can turn really easily at finish
Hi Tony,
The prescribed setup for the Stack and Tilt swing I teach includes flaring out both feet approximately 10-20 degrees, and the knees similarly angled outward.
That's fantastic, @Pruela!! I'm very glad you were finally able to get out there, and I hope you had a most enjoyable round - and a less frigid putter - today!!
Tom
Unreal tip. Just tremendous improvement right away.
I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, @white4571. Excellent job incorporating it into your swing so quickly!!
Keep up the great work!
