  • The BEST GOLF SWING TIP OF ALL TIME. Do you want to wear out the sweet spot on the center of your clubface like that? Arnold Palmer's one golf swing thought CAN take care of your whole golf swing and make it happen powerfully, simply, body-friendly - leading to more FUN for you. Take a golf swing tip from one of the greatest golfers of all time and begin hitting the golf ball extremely solid with more yardage and FUN!
    What's the GREATEST GOLF SWING TIP OF ALL TIME? It's quite simple and it will cause your golf swing to happen naturally without thinking so much about it. This swing tip was featured in a Golf Digest article highlighting Arnold Palmer's best golf tips. This was one of his favorite tips - "point the lead shoulder at the ball." That's it - that's ALL you need to have a fantastic, powerfully consistent swing.
    HOW THIS GOLF TIP IS SO AWESOME:
    1. Point the lead shoulder at the ball - maintains your body's relationship to the golf ball throughout the golf swing leading to crispy clean contact and finding the center of the clubface ALL DAY LONG.
    2. As you do this, your hips naturally turn (powered by the turning of the torso) - creating an effortless power source for you in the golf swing.
    3. You stay centered over the ball for clean contact shot-after-shot. You'll notice that this swing thought ELIMINATES SWAYING AND SHIFTING off of the golf ball, leading to your best contact ever.
    4. The Backswing - the club will trace the proper golf swing path leading to an efficient and simple one-plane swinging motion.
    5. The Downswing - the club naturally reacts to the turning of the torso and travels on the proper path into the golf ball INSTEAD of chopping at it and swinging over the top.
    EFFECTIVELY, this golf swing thought can eliminate a ton of golf swing flaws and problems for you, IF YOU ALLOW it to do the work.
    Is there a catch? NO. However, like all good things, you must do some work up front to get this thought to perform correctly every single time. You have to master the 3 GOLF SWING PREREQUISITES that I discuss in the episode. They will help you master this tip and ensure that your swing repeats all day long.

Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.
    My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.
    My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

      Daniel Germano - I have no objection to the 10-finger grip as long as it is fundamentally sound and the handle is properly positioned in the fingers and not the palms. A poor grip causes a host of problems including losing control of the clubface, creating tension, and activating the wrong parts of the body at the wrong time.
      Here's a video I did recently on the grip: ua-cam.com/video/g-Oue2IWbd4/v-deo.html.

    Tom, I'm 72 years and play decent albeit inconsistent golf. Prior to this vid I was shooting in the mid eighties. After watching I went to a nine hole course and by concentrating on pointing my left shoulder to the ball and turning my torso I was hitting the ball longer and straighter. I shot 38 (two over par). If not for my subpar short game I could have scored better. The next day I played this course again and shot 35 with an eagle on a par 5! My goal is to shoot my age and I think that is now possible. Thanks, and continue using the KISS method of instruction. "Keep it simple stupid"⛳️. 🏌🏾

    Tom, I was waiting for you to put up a new video to post this. I only discovered your channel this week when your video "You've been swinging the club WRONG your whole life" popped up on my timeline. I watched that video with a lot of skepticism and I have to tell you, I've been binge watching your videos all week and you are ABSOLUTELY right. I watched one of your older videos yesterday where you talked about how you felt about the stack and tilt method, your struggles and how this method restored your game. After struggling with a deteriorating swing and game for the last several years, I finally broke from "traditional" swing theory and tried your method.
    HOLY SHIT...what a difference. Your methods have fixed my driver, almost completely removed the vicious snap hook that my 5 iron produced regularly and I'm hitting the ball better than I have in decades.
    I've realized that through your videos that there are just too many variables in the traditional method and if you're not playing every day and hitting 1000 balls it's almost impossible to hit it constently. Hell, even if you are it's almost impossible. This method is sooooo much simpler, so much more straightforward and so much more logical.
    You've fixed, in a few videos, what I thought was going to take the entire summer and you did it in two video. My God what a transformation.
    I can't thank you enough.

    Tom,
    Thank you for your videos and instruction. Today I played 9 holes for the first time in a year. Last year I played only once (9 holes). I shot a 41 today that included a birdied on the par 5 9th. I did this with literally no practice or even range warm up. I am so excited to see where this swing will take my game as I get it more groved it. Most of my "misses" into the greens where left pulls, due to my old move of really spinning my hips hard that caused my weight to fall back. When I kept if forward on the down swing I was amazed at the strike I was producing. When we were done my friend said "ok...what is up? You have not hit a ball in a year, and come out and shoot 41 (I took his dollar too🙂). I gave him your name and told him to watch your videos. I told him it is truly game changing! Thanks again for what you do. It is great stuff.
    PS - I used single length irons and 2 utility clubs the length of a six iron. I play from the up tee (yellow) with a goal of 200 from the tee shots. I hit a couple 230+, which is huge for me!! I am super excited what the future holds. I feel that with my single length clubs I will Grove this move much faster. Will I ever shoot a 68....no, but I am very confident I can get my scores into the 70's. It blows my mind that I even think that way so very confidently. It is a great feeling - totally thanks to your teaching. Sorry so long, but I am just amazed. Cheers and take care.

    This is the "tip" that left my swing at some stage of my life resulting in my powerful consistent semi-pulls with irons for many years. I was 5 handicap once and probably did the "tip" unknowingly when I was young. I only read this now and tried a few sponge balls on the sitting room carpet. Eureka, I know how to hit down the line again. All it took was a little bit extra effort of will to get my left shoulder to point at the ball. I just know it will work on the golf course next weekend. Thanks Major Tom. PS: Have you any " tip" to remove scorch marks from a carpet. I want to stay alive till next Sunday.

    • @ec2754
      @ec2754 4 роки тому

      You still are, you need to load ur back foot on the way down to make u rotate properly. Saguto loads his front leg, which pops his hip violently up; it will ruin his back in the long run. Check out Golfletics' youtube channel for more insights.

      Not sure about keeping the weight on the lead leg during the backswing. Look at the illustration of Arnold; his left foot is on the ball of his foot during the backswing.

    I was skeptical of this method because I've always swung what everyone said was too far inside on the backswing. I tried and tried to get it more vertical and then shallow on the downswing but was very uncomfortable. Also I had a bad hip slide and thought that keeping my weight forward would make it worse. Needless to say I was wrong. I realised that with your type of backswing it's already shallowed with zero effort or thought. Tried your method today on the course and hit the longest drive I've ever hit by 30 yards which was over 300 and I'm only 5' 4". Even my miss hits went farther then my old center hits. And this method works on every type of shot. From driver to chipping and sand. Thank you!

      It is sad when "traditional instruction" takes us away from what our bodies were telling us is a good and healthy swing (and one that is well-supported by physics and geometry). You're definitely not alone in that (see the video on this channel about my "swing journey"), and I'm very glad to know that you've found this channel and are experiencing success with this method!!

    Big fan of your vids! They have a perfect balance of solid concepts, techniques and humor. With that said, I researched this fundamental move. It is correct.. but a detail i might suggest is sometimes it is better to raise the lead shoulder pointing about a yard ahead of the ball (like Tiger Woods does). This allows agressive golfers who really really load the lead shoulder deep, more room for the trail side to come thru on the downswing.. although technically, both ways get back on plane. happy golfing!

  • @bengolfs1
    @bengolfs1 4 роки тому +4

    When I tilt so much like that, I always fear that I will not "clear enough" on the downswing, and will subsequently chunk the ball. I think the most important thing is to place a 60/40 weight distribution towards your left leg (if right handed), so that the momentum is going towards the ball. Great instruction.

    • @cobra7282
      @cobra7282 4 роки тому +2

      Just make sure your weight is moving forward in the downswing and even some straightening out of the lead leg as your coming into impact will help create space for the club to the ball.

    • @bengolfs1
      @bengolfs1 4 роки тому

      @@cobra7282 I agree. I'm just not supposed to think about these things while addressing the ball--the swing is fluid and these mechanics are supposed to happen without thinking about them. That is my goal--to not think about these mechanics, and just have them occur automatically. Almost there.

      @Silver Fox,
      The golf swing is indeed overly complicated in particular by one part of the human body - the brain and all the swing nonsense and misguided instruction it has been fed. Garbage in, garbage out; and countless golf swings have sadly been trashed as a result. This is not saying that golf is "easy" as it most certainly is anything but. However, the perceived and overstated complexities of the swing itself can be greatly simplified to convey motions that are body-friendly and physiologically sound, and which simultaneously and effectively harness physics and geometry to produce a most satisfying and long-lasting experience. That's what my instruction style is rooted in, and I'm very glad to know that it is resonating well with you!
      Cheers!

I took your tutorial to the driving range and for the first time was able to hit my PW 120 yards, my 4 iron 200 yards and all in between irons to distances not seen before ! Tom, I found this video 4 days ago having never seen your work before and I'm a golf instruction junkie. First thought after 10 seconds was this guy is crazy but then I thought to myself I've learned some good info from George Gankas who is totally out in left field so I kept watching because you mentioned Arnold Palmer. It didn't take long to realize you were simply not afraid to "push the envelope" because of your passion. It made me listen. Thank you and Thank God that I did!! I've tried ideas from hundreds of pros and instructors looking for something that would click since I didn't start golfing until I was 23. It's been 30 years of madness, getting down to a 2 hdcp and going back up to 10. I've worked with Jimmy Ballard, Bradley Hughes, Kent Chase (who was taught by Wild Bill Mehlhorn) and several other well regarded teaching pros. NO ONE ever suggested to point the left shoulder at the ball and I'm embarrassed to have never picked up on this gem of a tip from Mr. Palmer. Using swing thoughts from Bradley Hughes, combined with the shoulder at the ball and extra pressure on the lead foot at the top of the backswing ... I'm feeling like the 10 hdcp might become 0 within the next month. CRISPY!! Keep pushing the boundaries using "old school" thoughts and you'll soon be joining Bradley Hughes, George Gankas, and Lucas Wald in the upper tier of instruction This is amazing considering your age. Don't underestimate yourself! Well done and congratulations from Calgary, Canada.
    p.s. check out this fellow for guitar inspiration ;-)

      Hi Ron,
      I am truly humbled by your far-too-kind words!! That is some very rare air shared by those great names in golf instruction that you mentioned, and to even be thought of anywhere near that realm is beyond my ability to process....
      I'm very glad to know that you didn't "quit me" after those first 10 seconds of madness, and I am thrilled to learn of the positive results you experienced with the tips you mentioned. Mr. Palmer offered some great kernels of swing knowledge, though somehow - perhaps due to his swashbuckling and seemingly non-technical style - these flew under the radar to some extent. In fact I just recently posted an episode with more of his favorites. Here's a link if you care to view it: ua-cam.com/video/wOHtJBDm_rs/v-deo.html.

    This is absolutely one of the best tips ever for golfers of every ability. Watch tour pros in slow motion and you'll see they are doing EXACTLY this ( to varying degrees). Great job, Tom!

    Hi Tom, I just found this video last night. Whenever I find a tip on You Tube I go down to the practice range and try it out. Some of them worked, for a while, others didn't. When I woke up this morning, I went to try out this pointing the shoulder at the ball idea. Wow! Incredible! I hit around 50 balls and only had 4 mishits! Most of the shots, dead straight or with a slight draw. I can't wait to play 18 holes tomorrow and try this out. I've played for around 50 years since age 12 and this is the best tip I've come across. Thank you so much.

      Phil Snelman - I must say that I am truly blown away that you can take a random tip off of UA-cam - where there are like 5 million tips, many of which totally contradict each other - take it to the range, see if it works, and if not completely delete it from muscle memory and move on to the next one! Wow!! I'd be an absolute pretzel if I tried that!
      Anyway, I'm glad to know that this tip worked well for you and I look forward to learning how it played out on the course!
      By the way, if you are pleased with the results and would like to get on the fast track for what I teach please consider the SagutoGolf membership plan as it is one of the best golf instruction values out there. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only learning system for the entire swing and much more. This will really simplify the process for you through succinct, step-by-step videos. Here's a link if you'd like additional info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga.

    Hey Tom - I have struggled with casting for my entire life and no one has been able to teach me the fundamentals so clearly that when I apply your tips, I find such crispy contact. I am going to keep watching and applying. I will be retiring at the end of June and plan to join your school. Thanks for making me want to golf again.
