It's available on Amazon now and comes with everything you listed here. Maybe by now it has a software update to help it scan better. It's price is close to $800.00 now. I'm very new to this whole 3d Printing world so after I buy my first 3d printer and get it figured out; something like this will be next. Pretty good review showing the scope of what it can do. I think that it did pretty darn good.
Actually no, you will always have issues scanning reflective or translucent surfaces with such devices. Such surfaces need to be coated with a "dulling" spray in order to properly capture them (they must be made opaque). Obviously you can't spray someones eyes, but this is why scan "clean-up" is done in post production. In the case of eyes they are most commonly replaced using a 3d modelling/sculpting application after the fact in order to fix such issues/limitations.
actually no? what are you referring to? it sounds like you're answering a question but I think we agree here. 3d printing isn't perfect but there are workarounds, like coating objects and modeling afterward.
@@MAKE Sorry, I should have been more clear, my apologies. I was referring specifically to the challenges that you were having scanning human eyes...which are shiny and reflective surfaces. Any such type of surface will likely cause issues. For example, when scanning glass surfaces or shiny metal you would want to use a dulling spray coating which would enable you to capture the surface. Again, you can't do this with human eyes for obvious reasons... LOL! Hope this makes my statement a bit more clear. And yes, we do agree, 3d scanning isn't perfect :-)
@@TheRealJerseyJoe You shouldn’t have to apologize, you were pretty clear. It sounds like the bearded guy is an engineer, so maybe he’ll figure something clever with eyes. But everyone is so sensitive these days for no reason.
I ordered yesterday the POP 2 and it will be my first scanner (well… after trashing away some money with the EORA 3d, years ago). I’m ok with 3d print slicers and some tech modeling with rhino, but new to obj/texturing. Are there any specific “easy” softwares to “replace” eyes? Given the fact human eyes, except the color, are pretty similar (for no medical purposes), wouldn’t be it moderately easy for @Revopoint 3D to add a feature to substitute 3d eyes on face scans?
Is there any possibility to access one of these before launch, I understand this was sent for a paid promotion to achieve a larger reach within the community. I have a large following online for producing car parts, and I am extremely interested in purchasing this and would love to share with my follower base. I understand if it is not a possibility at this point, however, I thought it would be worth a shot to reach out and ask. @@nicwright9889 Hi Nic, thank you for reaching out! To clarify, it is not a paid video, we sent a sample and asked for a real review, and that's all. However, we don't have more early-bird samples right now! You can check on the Revopoint website to know more!
@@Revopoint3D Thank you for the kind response. I completely understand, and not a problem at all, it was a shot in the dark! I appreciate the fast reply, and hopefully can get working with your equipment one day soon. My Regards, Nic Wright
great video i like that you scanned the skull and printed it. keep up the good work. the price is great for what it can do. well worth getting on the kickstarter :)
Can you scan an item and then convert it to standard engineering drawings? My company is looking at doing this rather than hand measuring, creating mechanical engineering drawings with angles and exact lengths/ thicknesses of pieces and then converting to a CAD/OBJ/STEP format. Thanks.
You will end up with a point cloud that can be used as a template to recreate a detailed CAD model. The object will not be able to be imported and then magically be a detailed cad object. There are some reverse engineering softwares like Geomagic. They make reverse engineering the shape from 3d scan data very very easy. But that software was about 40k for a single basic license.
So I'm a noob and lazy, but wouldn't radar, x-ray, and a lidar probe won't get you a pretty much full 3d scan for a 3d print to go? Is there something like that? :P
I literally can't get it to work. The software on Android crashes on my phone and my tablet. Mac and Windows software using cable , doesn't work. The software is utter garbage with japanese letters and when it asks me what camera I have the choices are "" and "". Really really poor software so i'm sending it back. Shame as it looked good.
they did not pay. I also intentionally leave details about some things vague for kickstarters because they tend to change a lot between when I get an item and the end of the campaign. Note I also give a price range instead of a detailed price.
So it's up to us to find out whether it comes with all that stuff? Why make your viewers find that out? YOU'RE THE REVIEWER, DO YOUR JOB AND TELL US WHAT'S WHAT!
This is a piece of shit that is IBM and Android only. The iOS software doesn't even work as a program. Don't get duped by low prices. They are low because they can't sell them. Bought this months ago to scan my father before he dies and I never got it to work. Very disappointed!
Great review! An honest look at a product is appreciated.

How did you get from scan to new model as in racoon skull?? No info
From 3D scan to 3D print would be great.
we show that multiple times in this video

Anyone knows how to get the OBJ files into Solidwork solids?
