Looks good. I wonder if the turntable speed could be increased with a high frame rate on the camera. Looks like a good tool for museums to archive rare objects that the public could view either in interactive displays or online.
Hi all, just received the pop2. I do not know how their select youtube reviewers got it to work, but it doesnt. The scanner wont even stay connected to the computer and the software shutsdown woth the click of any button if the buttons even respond. Checkout the revopoint forum and you will see a world of pain
Please create a video my friend getting the scan objects into a solid in Solidworks, that would help a lot of us in the reverse engineering ♥️ Great Video
I wonder why they even bothered with the "kickstarter" when going by the number of review models they've sent out it's already fully produced the kickstarter is just a marketing stunt not a genuine funding exercise.
very nice Video - Thank you - is it possible to get the stl from the Tai statue? - wondering how good the details are (without the texture :) )- or if you don't want to share the stl - can you maybe make a video with closeups without texture? that would be fantastic.
No, its with the ir side. There are sprays that you can apply to objects and then wash off afterwards. I did try using chalk and talcum powder which improved the results for reflective objects.
Do you believe that they will be close or near their expected shipment date of February 22? I’m very interested in purchasing this. I was wondering if you saw anything major in performance that would inevitably hold up production from your experience with the pop 2, or slides it seem to be close to hammered out in it’s entirety? Thank you brother for this review, as well as all your videos. Happy scanning! And happy new year! Nic Wright
The hardware seems to work fine and the windows software is useable but could use some refinement. The mobile software isn't ready. I have no way of knowing if they can deliver it.
@@techydiy thank you brother, I plan to use it on a dedicated windows computer as well. Shoot wish they could make the hardware available, I’m truely itching for a scanner that can put me closer then trying to use this capture app and a million scan attempts for making some special car parts. Thank you for the fast reply, keep up the grind and hard work brother. 💪 My Regards, Nic Wright
@@techydiy Thanks, after watching I learned their kickstarter recently ended and they are preordering on their website... with retail soon to come. Thanks again

Museums probably would use a professional grade scanner
Can anyone out there compare this to the Scan Lizard? I have looked all over, and can not find any direct comparisons between the two.
8:00 scan spray; someone else suggested Dry Shampoo spray

We can only test what we are given and that worked.
Thanks for the review. It appears that hobbyists will still have to wait to get a scanner that can do more than copy small toys.

Wish I'd invested in the Kickstarter, would have saved several hundred pounds!
Very nice review, thank you! Could you also do one on the upcomming FacTrans 3D scanner? I would love to hear more about it.
Is also work on mac system?
Yes, I believe so, it has software for a Mac
In this video I test the Revopoint POP2 3D scanner

Revopoint supplied the Pop2 free of charge for this video.
Care to share some of your stl files?

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I've yet to get my hands on any stl files made from this "professional-grade precision" scanner.

Hello, Question for you. Can you can a image and convert it to a AI or pdf file? Also does it tell you the measurements of the item you scanned?
where did you download handy scan for windows?

About glossy objects, does changing light setup has any impact on quality or the issue is with ir cameras?
No, its with the ir side. There are sprays that you can apply to objects and then wash off afterwards. I did try using chalk and talcum powder which improved the results for reflective objects.
seems such nice. how much weight in kg can the turning table carry without bursting? Are 11kg okay? Such a beautiful art of tech.
The instructions that came with mine say max 3.5 kg :)

Have you tried 3d printing from a scan - I had assumed that would be the main purpose in hobby use ?
No, my original intention was to copy an object with the 4th axis on a cnc; but they sent the pop2 late and I ran out of time.
You can convert objects to mesh meaning you can print it
I only see hte Revopoint POP 3D scanner on amazon... is it the same? whats the pop vs pop2?
Pop is the old version. The new pop2 version is unavailable on Amazon yet.
@@techydiy Thanks, after watching I learned their kickstarter recently ended and they are preordering on their website... with retail soon to come. Thanks again
Will you sell your unit?
No
Great video thanks for putting the effort in to show many different scanned objects
Thanks.
